The production car, named Mercedes-AMG ONE, ultimately delivered a stated 1,063 hp and a capped top speed of 352 km/h. It is F1-derived, not a literal Formula 1 car adapted for public roads.
What was the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE?
Project ONE was the name of the show car Mercedes-AMG presented at the 2017 Frankfurt International Motor Show. Mercedes described it as a road-going, two-seat plug-in hybrid developed with its High Performance Powertrains and Formula 1 teams. The production model later took the name Mercedes-AMG ONE.
The 2017 reveal described an unusually compact hybrid powertrain: a turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 and four electric motors. One motor was integrated with the turbocharger, another connected to the crankshaft, and two drove the front wheels. How did the reveal targets compare with the production car?
Mercedes’ 2017 figures applied to the Project ONE show car and were presented as specifications or targets. They should not be confused with the figures on the current production-model page.

The production figures are from Mercedes-AMG’s current ONE product page; the reveal-era targets are from the 2017 show-car announcement. The distinction matters: the early release established the ambition of Project ONE, while the current product page gives the manufacturer’s stated figures for the production AMG ONE.
What happened when the car entered production?
On 10 August 2022, Mercedes-Benz announced that customer-car production had started and that 275 examples would be built. The company expected the first deliveries in the second half of 2022. A Mercedes-Benz Netherlands announcement said the cars were produced in Coventry, UK, in a dedicated small-series facility established with manufacturing partner Multimatic. The final car retained the central engineering premise of the reveal—a turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 paired with four electric motors—but the production specification is the one to use when describing the delivered AMG ONE. The 2017 concept’s electric-range and acceleration targets are not confirmed as final production specifications by the current product page.
What is established about the $2.7 million price?
The reviewed official sources establish the technical reveal, production start, limited run and performance figures, but do not confirm a $2.7 million manufacturer price. Without a primary source specifying a market, currency basis, taxes and date, that number should be treated as an unverified reported figure—not as an official MSRP or a universal price for the car.

How fast is the AMG ONE around the Nürburgring?
Mercedes-Benz announced on 23 September 2024 that the AMG ONE had completed the 20.832-kilometre Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 6:29.090. The company said the lap was officially measured and notarized.
