Dunaali is a one-off drag motorcycle based on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, built by Bengaluru’s IndiMotard and Greasehouse Customs in partnership with Royal Enfield. Its handmade carbon-fiber dustbin fairing, modified engine and race-focused chassis set it apart from the road-going GT 650. Motoring World reported a 12.1-second quarter-mile; Royal Enfield’s annual report says the bike placed third on its first Indian outing.
What is Dunaali?
Dunaali was created as a drag-spec collaboration between Royal Enfield and IndiMotard, drawing inspiration from 1960s streamliners. Eicher Motors’ 2021–22 annual report says it was revealed near Hosur on March 4, 2022, at an event attended by about 1,800 enthusiasts. The donor motorcycle is a Continental GT 650, but Dunaali is not a factory trim or a standard accessory package. The bodywork—including its distinctive dustbin-style fairing and related carbon-fiber covers—was handmade as a one-off. Bike EXIF reports that Greasehouse Customs is a division of IndiMotard and that Royal Enfield supplied the project brief. Bike EXIF’s build account; Motoring World’s feature.
Who built it, and what was the goal?
The build was carried out by the IndiMotard/Greasehouse Customs team in Bengaluru. Owner Anand Dharmaraj described the ambition to Bike EXIF as “to create the fastest Royal Enfield 650 drag motorcycle in India, using minimal imported parts. In other words, make it in India.” That quote describes the project’s objective; it does not by itself establish a national speed record.

What modifications distinguish Dunaali from a stock GT 650?
Engine and drivetrain
Bike EXIF lists high-compression S&S Cycle pistons, ported and flowed cylinder heads, larger injectors, a Race Dynamics piggyback ECU with FuelX Autotune, velocity stacks and a custom two-into-one exhaust. The build also used a Rekluse clutch and a quick-shifter. These are reported details of this particular motorcycle, not a parts list for a standard Continental GT 650.
Chassis, wheels and bodywork
Reported chassis changes include lowered and stiffened forks, preload-adjustable YSS rear shocks, adjustable rake and 17-inch wheels fitted with Michelin slicks. How fast is Dunaali?
Motoring World reported 62.2 bhp at the rear wheel and a 12.1-second quarter-mile, with Lani Zena Fernandez riding. BikeDekho also reported a 12.1-second quarter-mile in 2022. These are published reports, not results reproduced in a current independent test; the annual report confirms the first-outing third place, rather than those specific performance figures. Published weight figures do not agree: Motoring World gives 168 kg, while BikeDekho gives 170 kg. Neither should be treated as a settled specification without a common measurement method. The same caution applies when comparing power with a stock bike: Royal Enfield’s brochure lists the standard 648cc twin at 47 horsepower at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm at 5,250 rpm, while the Dunaali figure is a rear-wheel dyno result. Is Dunaali road legal, or can you buy its fairing?
Bike EXIF describes a race-only setup with a small fuel cell and stripped wiring, and says the bike was not required to be street legal. That does not establish road legality in any particular jurisdiction. The carbon-fiber fairing and associated covers are described as handmade one-off parts; the cited accounts do not establish that they are offered for sale or fit a production GT 650. Anyone commissioning similar work or changing a motorcycle for road use should check local rules and have fitment and safety reviewed by a qualified professional.
