Until you obtain a current Seltos quote and match equivalent trims, any claim that one is definitively better value would be guesswork.
What can be decided now is which model fits your priorities: Victoris is the more flexible choice if you want a strong hybrid, CNG or available all-wheel-drive system; Seltos deserves consideration for its documented safety equipment and trim-specific technology. Your final decision should use local, same-day quotations and the exact equipment sheets for both vehicles.

What “better value” means for these two SUVs
Value is not the same as the lowest advertised price. For the Victoris and Seltos, compare the exact variants on five points:
- Current transaction price: manufacturer-listed price, taxes, registration, insurance, handling charges and the final on-road amount in your state.
- Powertrain and transmission: engine type, fuel choice, gearbox and whether the specification suits your traffic, highway or rough-road use.
- Safety: standard equipment on the chosen trim and the applicability of the published Bharat NCAP result.
- Comfort and technology: features you will actually use, rather than equipment listed on a higher variant.
- Ownership economics: fuel, maintenance, insurance, resale and warranty information based on comparable current quotations.
The available evidence covers official equipment, Victoris prices and Bharat NCAP scores. It does not establish a current Seltos variant-wise price list, matched on-road quotations, comparative fuel economy, service costs, reliability, resale values or insurance premiums. Those missing figures prevent a mathematically defensible value ranking.

Maruti Suzuki’s official Victoris price page, accessed on 13 October 2026, lists the following starting prices:

The same page states that the “Price and Schemes prevailing at the time of Invoice/Bill shall be applicable.” Therefore, the displayed amounts are reference points, not guaranteed amounts for a later booking. Ask the dealer for a dated quotation showing ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, statutory charges, accessories and discounts separately.
Seltos pricing still needs a verified quote
A current official, variant-wise Kia Seltos price list was not established for this comparison. Do not substitute an old brochure, an archived web page or an unsupported third-party estimate. Request a quote for the exact Seltos trim, engine and transmission you would actually buy, then obtain the Victoris quote on the same day and in the same city.
Why a price-gap claim would be misleading
Without a current Seltos price and matched local costs, it is impossible to calculate a reliable Victoris-versus-Seltos price gap. Registration and insurance can also vary by state, fuel type, insurer and declared accessories. A showroom discount may be temporary, while the Victoris page specifically makes invoice-time pricing controlling.
Powertrains and drivetrains
Victoris: petrol, strong hybrid, CNG and ALLGRIP Select
Maruti Suzuki’s September 2025 launch release describes the Victoris range as offering petrol, a strong-hybrid system, CNG and an ALLGRIP Select all-wheel-drive option. These choices address different use cases:
- Petrol manual or automatic: the conventional choice for buyers who want familiar operation and a broad dealer-support network. Confirm the gearbox and drive layout on the specific trim.
- Strong hybrid: relevant to urban drivers who value reduced engine running during stop-start traffic. The VXI THS listing demonstrates that the hybrid starts substantially above the entry LXI MT price, but the available evidence does not establish a payback period or real-world fuel-consumption advantage.
- CNG: potentially attractive where an accessible, reliable CNG station network exists. Check boot-space implications, availability in your city and the exact trim before comparing it with a petrol Seltos.
- ALLGRIP Select: useful for buyers who regularly drive on loose or slippery surfaces. It should not be treated as a substitute for dedicated off-road hardware or as a reason to pay more if nearly all driving is on paved roads.
The release confirms that these powertrain families are part of the Victoris programme, not that every one is available on every trim. Use the current variant equipment page and dealer order form to verify availability.

Seltos: match the engine and gearbox, not just the badge
The Seltos comparison must be made by engine, fuel type, transmission and drive configuration. A lower-priced manual petrol Seltos and a higher-spec automatic diesel Seltos are different products even when they carry the same model name. Ask Kia to identify the exact engine and transmission code on the quotation, then compare it with the Victoris configuration you are considering.
Safety equipment: standard claims versus exact-trim reality
Victoris equipment
Maruti Suzuki’s September 2025 launch material says six airbags are standard across Victoris variants and identifies Level 2 advanced driver-assistance technology among the model’s safety and technology features. The current Victoris price page also shows equipment by variant, so a model-level announcement must not be read as proof that every technology feature is fitted to the entry trim.
Before signing, ask the dealer to mark the following on the exact variant sheet: number and location of airbags, electronic stability control, cameras and sensors, autonomous-emergency-braking functions, adaptive cruise functions, parking sensors, camera type and tyre-pressure monitoring. Keep that sheet with the quotation.
Seltos equipment
Kia’s Seltos brochure describes a safety package including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control (HAC), vehicle stability management (VSM), brake assist and a tyre-pressure monitoring system. Kia also warns that specifications can vary by model and variant. These are manufacturer-described features, not proof that every Seltos trim carries the complete package.
The brochure’s advanced-driver-assistance disclaimer says the system is an assistance feature and that the driver remains responsible for safe, vigilant and attentive driving. Treat ADAS as a support system: maintain attention, keep your hands and eyes available for driving, and do not use it to justify unsafe speed or following distances.
Bharat NCAP results: close scores, different assessed variants
The published scores are strong for both vehicles, but they are not a head-to-head test of identical specifications or publication dates.

The Seltos listing is higher by 0.04 points for adult protection and two points for child protection in the published figures. That numerical difference should not be converted into a universal claim that every Seltos is safer than every Victoris: Bharat NCAP identifies the tested or listed variants, and equipment can differ across a range.
When comparing a showroom car, verify whether its structural specification, restraint equipment and safety kit correspond to the variants covered by the relevant Bharat NCAP listing. A lower trim may not carry every feature present on the assessed version.
Comfort and technology: compare the equipment sheet
Both manufacturers market connected and intelligent features, but a fair comparison requires a line-by-line check of the two chosen trims. Create a simple checklist covering the features that affect daily use:

- Front and rear seat comfort, ventilation or adjustment functions, and rear-seat recline or split-folding arrangements.
- Infotainment screen size, smartphone integration, navigation, connected services and the number of speakers.
- Automatic climate control, rear air vents, charging ports and wireless-phone charging.
- Keyless entry, push-button start, powered tailgate, panoramic or standard sunroof and exterior lighting.
- Parking camera coverage, front and rear sensors, blind-spot monitoring and the specific ADAS functions included.
- Wheel size, spare-wheel arrangement and tyre dimensions, which influence ride comfort and replacement cost.
Do not award a feature point merely because it appears on a top variant. Record whether it is standard, optional, part of a package or unavailable on the exact trim within your budget.
Which buyer should start with the Victoris?
Choose Victoris first if powertrain choice is central
The Victoris is the logical starting point if you specifically want a strong hybrid, CNG capability or the available ALLGRIP Select system. It also gives you a clearly published entry price and a published strong-hybrid starting point, making it easier to set an initial budget before collecting local quotes.
Choose Victoris first if you need a broad shortlist
Its petrol, hybrid and CNG choices allow you to tailor the vehicle to urban commuting, high annual mileage or fuel availability. That flexibility does not automatically make it cheaper to own; calculate fuel and maintenance costs using your annual distance and local prices.

Which buyer should start with the Seltos?
Start with Seltos if its exact trim delivers the equipment you value
The Seltos brochure documents a substantial safety package, including six airbags, stability systems, brake assist and tyre-pressure monitoring. If your preferred Seltos trim includes the comfort, infotainment and driver-assistance equipment you want without requiring a higher variant, it may be the better personal fit.

The 2026 Bharat NCAP listing covers HTE (O) and GTX with the specified diesel automatic configuration. Confirm whether the vehicle you are ordering shares the relevant safety specification; do not assume the score applies identically to every engine, gearbox or trim.
A practical, five-step buying method
- Set a total on-road ceiling. Include registration, insurance, accessories and financing costs, not only the advertised vehicle amount.
- Select one Victoris configuration and one Seltos configuration. Match fuel type, transmission, drivetrain and approximate equipment level before comparing prices.
- Collect dated quotations. Ask both dealers for itemised ex-showroom, registration, insurance, mandatory charges, discounts and accessories in the same city.
- Audit safety and convenience equipment. Mark each item as standard, optional, package-only or unavailable on the quoted trim. Keep the manufacturer specification sheet.
- Calculate your personal running case. Use your annual kilometres, local fuel prices, insurance offers and scheduled-service estimates. Treat salesperson estimates as provisional until documented.
If the two quotes are not comparable, pause the decision rather than assigning a winner based on headline prices.
Ownership costs: what remains unproven
No independently published, directly comparable evidence was established for Victoris-versus-Seltos real-world fuel economy, scheduled-service cost, long-term reliability, resale value or insurance premiums. Manufacturer claims about technology or environment-friendly powertrains do not replace owner-cost data.
For a sound ownership estimate, request the service schedule and paid-service price list for the exact engine and transmission, obtain insurance quotes using the same insured-declared value and add likely consumables such as tyres and brakes. For the hybrid or CNG versions, ask about battery or gas-system warranty terms and any inspection requirements. These checks can change the value calculation more than a small difference in purchase price.

At the Victoris launch, Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said: “We are confident the VICTORIS with its high technology, sleek design, intelligent and connected features, 5-star level safety and multiple environment friendly powertrains will win hearts in India.” This is a manufacturer executive’s promotional statement. It is useful for understanding how Maruti positions the product, but it is not independent evidence of comparative value, reliability or operating cost.

Verdict
The Victoris is the stronger provisional choice for buyers who value powertrain breadth, a documented starting price or access to a strong hybrid, CNG or ALLGRIP Select configuration. The Seltos is a credible alternative with a documented safety package and slightly higher published Bharat NCAP scores for the listed assessment. Neither model can be named the overall value winner from the available evidence because current Seltos pricing and comparable on-road quotes are missing.
Buy the vehicle whose exact trim wins your itemised comparison—not the badge with the more attractive headline claim. A same-day, same-city quotation and a confirmed equipment sheet are the final tests of value.
