Mark Zuckerberg’s Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT minivan is a one-off custom build, not a production Porsche minivan. In October 2024, he shared that the vehicle was created for his wife, Priscilla Chan, after she wanted a minivan. The “metaverse” in the headline is a joke, not a reported connection to Meta’s virtual-world projects.
What is the Mark Zuckerberg Porsche Cayenne minivan?
It is a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT converted into a longer minivan-style vehicle. Car and Driver reported that West Coast Customs carried out the conversion, including an extended frame and electric sliding doors. The project adapts a high-performance luxury SUV to Chan’s request rather than starting with a conventional family van. Car and Driver’s October 7, 2024 report and MotorTrend’s contemporaneous coverage identify it as a custom build.

Why was it built?
Zuckerberg said the minivan was for Priscilla Chan, who wanted one. Hindustan Times reproduced the wording of his Instagram post: “New side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I’ve been designing something I’m pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan. Threw in a manual GT3 Touring to make it his and hers. Thanks @porsche and @westcoastcustoms for helping to make this happen.” This is wording reported from a social post, not a statement made in an interview. Hindustan Times, updated October 7, 2024

What makes the conversion unusual?
Instead of buying an ordinary minivan, the project takes a Porsche performance SUV and gives it minivan-style access and a longer frame. That makes it an exercise in bespoke luxury and exclusivity, not an established alternative for shoppers choosing a family vehicle. The available reporting names the extended frame and electric sliding doors, but does not establish the conversion’s seating layout, cargo space, safety performance, reliability, or engineering certification.

Does Porsche sell a Cayenne minivan?
The reporting describes a custom, one-off project; it does not establish a retail Porsche minivan or a production conversion kit. Porsche’s official 2024 Cayenne brochure documents the Cayenne range, but does not make this custom vehicle a standard model. It also cannot be used to infer the finished build’s final specifications.

Nothing in the cited coverage connects the car to Meta’s metaverse projects. “Should have stayed in the metaverse” is satirical framing for an improbable-sounding luxury conversion; the reported story is simply that Zuckerberg commissioned a customized Cayenne for Chan.
