Launch coverage put its presale or promotional price at $3,450. Those are historical launch-era claims, not a current price or confirmation that the X-1 is still for sale.
What the 2,000-watt claim meant
New Atlas reported on June 20, 2019, that the X-1 used a Bafang M600 mid-drive in a 750-watt stock configuration, with Luna’s 40-amp Ludicrous controller offering a configuration advertised at up to 2,000 watts. The figure describes the announced upgraded setup; it is not an independent laboratory measurement or a rating that applies to every X-1. New Atlas’s June 2019 launch report.
Electrek reported that the 750-watt option included a hand throttle, while the 2,000-watt option was pedal-assist only. That distinction matters: the higher advertised output did not mean the bike could be ridden using a throttle in that configuration. Electrek’s June 2019 report.
Launch-era specifications and price
The June 2019 reports describe an enduro-style e-bike built around a carbon frame and six inches of front and rear suspension travel. Electrek reported a 160 mm RockShox fork, a 700 Wh, 52 V removable battery using Panasonic GA cells, SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. These details describe the X-1 as covered at launch, not the current X2.

How the X-1 differs from Luna’s current X2
Luna now describes the X2 as the improved successor to the X1. Its current X2 page lists a 750 W Bafang M600, a 48 V, 17.5 Ah/820 Wh LG battery, 160 mm front and 140 mm rear travel, a SRAM 12-speed drivetrain, and a choice of 27.5-inch or 29-inch wheels. These are X2 specifications; they should not be used to fill gaps in the X-1 launch specification. Luna’s X2 product page.

- 【Gearbox Mid-Drive Motor】Multiplies Torque to 253N·m for Dominant Hill Climbing — The built-in reduction gearbox amplifies the motor's peak output to 253N·m of wheel-side torque at 3800 RPM, giving the Drax X the raw pulling power to conquer 60° steep climbs that would stall a typical hub motor bike. Whether it's rocky hillsides, loose gravel, or rutted dirt trails, the mid-drive design keeps weight centered for better balance and control than rear hub motor competitors.
- 【Enhanced Ride Comfort & Control】Equipped with a rear shock absorber mounted to a dedicated swing arm design, this bike delivers superior suspension performance that smooths out rough terrain, improves traction, and absorbs bumps more effectively for a more comfortable and confident ride on trails and off‑road surfaces.
- 【Safe & Adjustable Riding Experience】Featuring three safe speed modes (15 mph for beginners, 28 mph for balanced cruising, and up to 50 mph for experienced riders), this electric dirt bike lets riders control their pace with confidence while adapting to different skill levels and terrain conditions — enhancing overall safety and ride enjoyment.
- 【19"/17" Large Wheels for Superior Terrain Dominance & Extended Lifespan】Conquer any terrain with ease! The professional 19" front and 17" rear wheels provide superior obstacle rollover and stability. This larger setup ensures a higher seat height that grows with your rider, offering a longer lifespan and better investment value than standard small-wheel bikes.
- 【Dual LED Headlights and Tail light】The X-PRO Electric Motorcycle is equipped with dual LED headlights(60V/5W), providing optimal brightness and energy efficiency for superior visibility in all conditions. The rear tail light enhances safety, making you clearly visible to others on the road. Additionally, it comes with a built-in horn for added convenience and safety, ensuring you're always noticed. These features combine to offer a sleek and functional design for a safer, more enjoyable ride.
The X2 page says an optional Ludicrous upgrade makes the bike no longer road legal in many U.S. states and advises riders to follow applicable helmet and safety laws. That is not a jurisdiction-specific legal ruling about the X-1. E-bike classifications and permitted use depend on location and configuration, so check the rules that apply where you intend to ride rather than treating the 2,000-watt headline as proof of road or trail legality.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the X-1 still available?
The launch reports and Luna’s April 2020 post establish that the X-1 was offered at those times, but they do not establish present availability. Luna’s current product page identifies the X2 as the successor; it does not, by itself, confirm whether a particular X-1 is in stock or available used. Luna’s current Enduro parts catalog does list a “Luna X1 Lower Shock Assembly,” which confirms at least one X1-specific part listing—not comprehensive parts support or compatibility with every model year and configuration.
