LiveWire positions the S4 Honcho as a more accessible electric mini-moto for new riders and everyday use, but “125cc-equivalent” is the company’s description—not a universal legal classification or proof that the bike suits every entry-level buyer. In the U.S., the Trail starts at $4,999 and the Street at $5,499 before fees and taxes. LiveWire lists a 59 mph top speed and range estimates of up to 53 miles on WMTC or 73 miles at a constant 20 mph.
Is the LiveWire S4 Honcho an entry-level motorcycle?
LiveWire announced production of the S4 Honcho Trail and S4 Honcho Street on June 9, 2026, describing them as 125cc-equivalent electric mini-motos and an expansion into more accessible, lightweight electric motorcycles. The company says it is targeting new riders, commuters, RV travelers and outdoor-oriented riders. That is LiveWire’s positioning, not an independent finding that the Honcho has won market share or will fit every beginner’s needs.
“125cc-equivalent” should not be treated as a legal category everywhere. Licensing, registration and road-use rules depend on where you live and the vehicle’s local classification, so check with the relevant authority before buying for street use. LiveWire says the models are produced by KYMCO.
What do the Trail and Street cost?
LiveWire’s June 9, 2026 production announcement lists U.S. MSRPs of $4,999 for the Trail and $5,499 for the Street. Those are not out-the-door prices: LiveWire says MSRP excludes tax, title, licensing, registration, destination charges, surcharges, retailer-added accessories and other retailer charges. Retailer prices may vary. Confirm the final price with a dealer.

LiveWire also lists reverse, 12-inch wheels and two removable, swappable batteries. The product page’s seat-height figures are specifically labeled “laden.” Its June 9 production announcement instead gives 32 inches for Trail and 31 inches for Street without that qualifier; those figures should not be treated as the same measurement.

Which trim fits your intended use?
Trail
LiveWire presents the Trail for backroads and outdoor use. It is the lighter of the two at 253 lb, with a listed laden seat height of 30 inches. The manufacturer’s intended-use description is a guide to its positioning, not independent validation for any particular terrain.
Street
LiveWire markets the Street for commuting and errands. It weighs 266 lb and has a listed laden seat height of 29 inches. The page does not establish that the stated range will cover a particular commute; route, speed, weather and other conditions matter.

How realistic are the range and charging figures?
LiveWire lists up to 53 miles under WMTC and up to 73 miles at a sustained 20 mph for either trim. These are different test conditions, not a guarantee of typical riding range. The company says actual range varies with riding conditions; its production announcement identifies weather, road conditions, load, tire pressure, maintenance and configuration as factors. LiveWire describes its range testing as sample-motorcycle testing under ideal laboratory conditions.
The stated charging time is approximately two hours to charge from 20% to 80% on 110V. Since the batteries are removable and swappable, charging arrangements may matter to a buyer without convenient access to a charging point, but the listed figure is for that specified voltage and charge range.

Can you buy one now?
On its current U.S. product page, LiveWire marks the Trail “AVAILABLE NOW” and the Street “COMING SOON.” The company said on August 21, 2026, that the first Trail production units had arrived in the United States and were beginning distribution through its dealer network. It expected further Trail shipments as inventory built, with Street to follow. Dealer stock can vary by location, so contact an authorized LiveWire dealer to confirm availability and delivery timing. LiveWire also described a planned fall 2026 expansion into select European markets; that announcement does not establish availability in every European country.
