Rivian’s 2025 filing says the initial volume is subject to modification, so the order is not proof that all 100,000 vans have been delivered. Amazon’s June 2026 update says its global fleet exceeded 50,000 electric delivery vans from Rivian and other manufacturers.
Did Amazon order 100,000 Rivian trucks?
Amazon announced a goal of putting 100,000 Rivian vehicles on the road by 2030, but the vehicles in question are delivery vans. Rivian’s 2025 Form 10-K describes Amazon’s commitment as an initial global order volume of 100,000 EDVs, subject to modification. That language describes an order, not a confirmed delivery or production total. Rivian’s 2025 Form 10-K
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy described the 2030 ambition at the 2022 rollout: “we’re just getting started on our journey to have 100,000 of Rivian’s vehicles on the road by 2030.” That target should not be read as evidence that the full order has been fulfilled. Amazon’s 2022 rollout announcement
Are Amazon’s Rivian vans the R1T?
No. Rivian makes different vehicles for different purposes. The R1T is a consumer pickup and the R1S is a consumer SUV; Amazon’s order concerns the Electric Delivery Van, a commercial step-in van developed for fleet delivery work. Rivian’s filing identifies the EDV in 500- and 700-cubic-foot versions for commercial uses. Rivian’s 2025 Form 10-K

How many Rivian vans does Amazon have?
The available figures use different dates and scopes, so they should not be treated as interchangeable:
- More than 50,000 electric delivery vans globally: Amazon’s June 2026 update says its worldwide operations had passed this threshold and describes the 100,000-by-2030 goal as involving Rivian and other manufacturers. This is a multi-manufacturer fleet total, not a Rivian-only count. About Amazon Europe, June 2026
- More than 35,000 Rivian EDVs globally: Amazon fleet director Emily Barber gave this Rivian-specific figure in a statement published by Rivian in October 2025. It is a dated statement, not a current 2026 count. Rivian’s October 2025 Canada launch story
- More than 40,000 custom vans across the U.S.: Amazon’s FAQ reports this figure on its page, but it is a U.S. custom-van snapshot rather than a current global Rivian-only tally. Amazon’s electric delivery van FAQ
Because one number is a June 2026 global total spanning manufacturers, another is a Rivian-specific figure from October 2025, and the FAQ figure is U.S.-only, the figures do not establish a current global count of Amazon’s Rivian vans.

What have Amazon’s Rivian vans delivered?
Amazon says its Rivian vans delivered more than 1 billion packages in the United States in 2024. This is a delivery-volume milestone for that year, not a vehicle-production count. Amazon also says its delivery-station network includes more than 50,000 chargers at over 250 U.S. stations; the FAQ does not separately date that installation total. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How many Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles have been built?
The sources cited here do not give a cumulative combined production total for the R1T pickup and R1S SUV. Rivian identifies those models as its flagship consumer vehicles, but that is not enough to establish how many have been built. The claim that total R1T and R1S production is zero is therefore not supported by the available figures. Amazon’s EDV order and fleet milestones cannot be used to infer R1T or R1S production.
