Lexus revealed the LFA Concept on December 5, 2025, as a battery-electric sports-car concept—not as a confirmed production supercar. The company has shared design priorities and estimated dimensions, but its cited announcements do not give a production plan, price, range, battery capacity, or power output. In July 2026, Lexus said the concept made hill-climb runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
What Lexus revealed
Lexus world-premiered the LFA Concept on December 5, 2025, describing it as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sports-car concept. Its exterior and interior had appeared earlier in 2025 as the Lexus Sport Concept at Monterey Car Week and the Japan Mobility Show. The name changed at the world premiere; Lexus’s cited announcements do not confirm that the concept will enter production or be sold to customers. Lexus USA’s announcement and Toyota’s global release use the concept framing.
That distinction matters because “supercar” can suggest a production vehicle with published performance and a route to purchase. Lexus calls this a BEV sports-car concept. No production date, retail availability, price, battery capacity, driving range, acceleration figure, or power output appears in the cited reveal material.
What is known about its design and construction
Lexus says the concept is being developed alongside Toyota’s GR GT and GR GT3 programs, with shared techniques and skills. The LFA Concept uses an all-aluminum body frame based on the GR GT, according to the company. The GR GT3 is a separate, FIA GT3-spec race car; it is not another name for the Lexus concept.

Lexus describes its priorities as a low center of gravity, low weight with high rigidity, and aerodynamic performance. It also says the design pairs sculptural styling with aerodynamic performance in pursuit of what it calls “Discover Immersion.” These are the automaker’s stated aims, not independently verified test results.
A cockpit designed around the driver
Lexus says the interior has an ideal driving position and a driver-centered cockpit. The steering layout is intended to let the driver operate it without changing hand position, while switches are designed for blind-touch operation. These descriptions explain the concept’s intended interaction; they do not establish how the layout would work in a production car.

Manufacturer-estimated dimensions
Toyota’s December 2025 global release gives these estimated dimensions and seating information for the concept:
| Measure | Manufacturer estimate |
|---|---|
| Length | 4,690 mm (184.6 in) |
| Width | 2,040 mm (80.3 in) |
| Height | 1,195 mm (47.0 in) |
| Wheelbase | 2,725 mm (107.3 in) |
| Occupancy | Two people |
These are manufacturer estimates for a concept, not measurements of a confirmed production model. The figures come from Toyota Motor Corporation’s December 5, 2025 release; Lexus USA provides the corresponding imperial dimensions.

Why Lexus is using the LFA name
Lexus says the LFA name is not reserved for cars with internal-combustion engines. It describes the name as a symbol of technologies and skills to preserve and pass on to future generations. The concept is presented with the GR GT and GR GT3 as part of that effort, combining new technologies with car-making knowledge.
Toyota explains the “Shikinen Sengu” analogy in its release: a Shinto shrine rebuilding ritual that also passes craft skills between generations. In Lexus’s framing, the name signals continuity in engineering and craft, not a promise that the new concept will share the old car’s engine or become a production model.
How it relates to the original LFA
The original LFA was a limited-production road car; the LFA Concept is an electric concept. Lexus’s historical model information describes the earlier car as one of 500 examples, powered by a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 producing 552 bhp. Those figures belong to the original production LFA and should not be applied to the new concept. Lexus’s historical LFA page covers the earlier model.
| Category | Original Lexus LFA | Lexus LFA Concept |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Limited-production road car; 500 examples | BEV sports-car concept; production and sales not confirmed in the cited announcements |
| Powertrain | 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 | Battery-electric; output and battery specifications not stated in the cited reveal materials |
| Construction | Extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic | All-aluminum body frame based on the GR GT, according to Lexus |
| Performance and price | 552 bhp for the original model; price not stated here | Power, range, acceleration, and price not stated in the cited reveal materials |
The comparison is about lineage and what Lexus has disclosed, not a performance matchup. The concept has no published output or acceleration figure in the cited announcements.

The concept’s Goodwood appearance
Lexus Canada reported on July 20, 2026, that the LFA Concept made unannounced dynamic hill-climb runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held July 9–12. The car had been scheduled for static display, according to Lexus Canada’s report. The appearance shows that the concept was driven at the event; it does not supply a timed performance result or confirm production.
Before the Goodwood appearance, Lexus Project General Manager Yukihiro Yukita said the car would pursue a “multi-sensory experience” and challenge what a battery-electric sports car could be. He also described its intended immersion as a fusion of aerodynamic performance and sculptural beauty. Those statements describe Lexus’s design ambition, rather than published performance specifications.
What remains unknown
The cited official announcements establish the concept’s electric identity, design direction, development relationship to the GR GT, estimated dimensions, and Goodwood hill-climb appearance. They do not establish a production decision or the specifications buyers would need to assess a retail vehicle.
