Is Lexus’s new supercar a hybrid or electric?
The confirmed powertrain for the LFA Concept is battery electric. In its December 4, 2025 announcement, Lexus described it as a battery-electric vehicle sports-car concept, not a hybrid. The release presents it as an exploration of what a battery-electric sports car could be; it does not provide production powertrain specifications. Lexus USA’s announcement
Has Lexus revealed the car?
Lexus unveiled the LFA Concept in December 2025 as a concept and a vision for a next-generation electric sports car. In June 2026, Lexus said it would be displayed publicly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 9 to 12. A July 15 update reported that, although initially scheduled for static display, it made an unannounced appearance in the event’s high-speed sessions. Lexus called it an electric supercar concept. That establishes a public showing and dynamic drive for the concept, not a production-car launch. The “imminent reveal” wording is therefore stale as current news about the LFA Concept.

Is the LFA Concept the car behind the hybrid-supercar teaser?
That connection is not established by the available official Lexus releases. A Motor1 headline dated December 2, 2025 said Toyota’s new supercar would spawn a Lexus equivalent, but the indexed item alone does not verify that the teaser and LFA Concept are the same vehicle—or that the teased car is a hybrid. Lexus did say the LFA Concept was developed alongside TOYOTA Gazoo Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3, with shared techniques and skills. Lexus has not supplied market, sales, or performance figures in the cited releases, so there is no verified output, range, price, or launch timing to report here.
