For U.S. shoppers, Lexus has two battery-electric choices for 2026: the RZ SUV and the ES sedan. The RZ 350e FWD has the longest published RZ estimate (about 301 miles with 18-inch wheels), while the ES 350e carries the longest rating in this lineup at 307 EPA-estimated miles on standard 19-inch wheels. The RZ offers three powertrains and six trims; the ES offers front- or all-wheel drive in Premium and Luxury grades. Both use a NACS port, and Lexus quotes roughly 28–30 minutes for a 10–80% DC fast-charge session under ideal conditions. Listed prices including destination, processing and handling (DPH) run from $47,395 to $58,395 for the RZ and $48,895 to $60,295 for the ES BEV. Your actual ownership cost still depends on negotiated price, financing, electricity, insurance, taxes, charging installation and driving pattern.

RZ prices shown above are Lexus-listed starting prices for the six-trim range: 350e, 350e Premium, 450e, 450e Premium, 450e Luxury and 550e F SPORT. The 450e Luxury and 550e F SPORT each list at $58,395. Lexus says the RZ figures include DPH; dealer pricing can differ. ES figures come from the detailed Lexus price chart and include a $1,395 DPH charge; dealer pricing can also differ. A separate newsroom announcement mentioned a $47,500 ES base MSRP before that detailed chart was published, so the chart values are the appropriate trim-by-trim numbers for comparison.
Which Lexus EV body style fits your use?
Choose the RZ when you need an electric SUV
The RZ provides the higher-riding SUV shape and the broadest drivetrain menu. Its front-drive 350e prioritizes range and entry price. The dual-motor 450e adds all-wheel traction and power. The 550e F SPORT is the performance-oriented choice, with 402 system horsepower, AWD and 20-inch wheels, but its published range falls to approximately 229 miles. Those are different priorities rather than a single trim ladder in which every step is objectively better.

Choose the ES when sedan efficiency and equipment matter most
The ES BEV is offered as a 350e front-driver or 500e AWD, each in Premium or Luxury form. With standard 19-inch wheels, the ES 350e’s 307-mile EPA estimate is the longest cited figure in this Lexus lineup. The ES 500e trades some range for AWD and 338 combined net horsepower. The Luxury grades add equipment; the ES 350e Luxury can also be ordered with an Executive Package centered on rear-seat comfort, including a passenger-side ottoman and heated, ventilated and massaging rear outboard seats.
2026 Lexus RZ trims, powertrains and prices
Lexus lists six RZ configurations. All prices in this section include the listed DPH basis and are starting prices; your dealer’s transaction price, taxes, registration and optional equipment are separate.
| RZ trim | Drive | System output | Manufacturer-estimated range | Starting price including DPH |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 350e | FWD | 221 hp | About 301 miles with 18-inch wheels | $47,395 |
| 350e Premium | FWD | 221 hp | About 301 miles with 18-inch wheels (wheel choice can affect the figure) | $49,595 |
| 450e | AWD | 308 hp | About 264 miles with 18-inch wheels | $50,895 |
| 450e Premium | AWD | 308 hp | About 264 miles with 18-inch wheels | $53,095 |
| 450e Luxury | AWD | 308 hp | About 264 miles with 18-inch wheels | $58,395 |
| 550e F SPORT | AWD | 402 hp | About 229 miles with 20-inch wheels | $58,395 |
RZ 350e: the range-focused entry point
The 350e uses one motor and front-wheel drive. Its approximately 301-mile figure is a Lexus manufacturer estimate tied to 18-inch wheels, not an EPA rating and not a guarantee of everyday mileage. It is the least expensive RZ and the logical starting point for buyers who do not need AWD.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesRZ 450e: all-wheel drive without the F SPORT price
The 450e adds a second motor for AWD and raises output to 308 horsepower. Range is approximately 264 miles with 18-inch wheels. Lexus describes a dealer-installed performance upgrade for the RZ 450e AWD that raises output to 375 hp and listed an MSRP of $1,750 when announced. Accessory availability and price can change, so confirm both with a dealer before including it in a purchase order.
RZ 550e F SPORT: maximum output, shortest published range
The 550e F SPORT is the 402-hp AWD model. Its approximately 229-mile estimate is associated with 20-inch wheels, whose greater mass and tire specification can reduce efficiency compared with smaller wheels. Select it for performance and F SPORT equipment, not for maximum road-trip distance.

2026 Lexus ES BEV trims and equipment
Every ES BEV uses a 74.7-kWh battery. The ES 350e has one 221-hp motor driving the front wheels. The ES 500e adds a 118-hp rear motor, producing 338 combined net horsepower and all-wheel drive.
| ES configuration | Drive and motors | Range with standard 19-inch wheels | Range with optional 21-inch wheels | Price including $1,395 DPH |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ES 350e Premium | FWD, one 221-hp motor | 307 miles EPA-estimated | 292 miles EPA-estimated | $48,895 |
| ES 500e Premium | AWD, front motor plus 118-hp rear motor; 338 combined net hp | 276 miles EPA-estimated | 272 miles EPA-estimated | $51,895 |
| ES 350e Luxury | FWD, one 221-hp motor | 307 miles EPA-estimated | 292 miles EPA-estimated | $57,295 |
| ES 500e Luxury | AWD, front motor plus 118-hp rear motor; 338 combined net hp | 276 miles EPA-estimated | 272 miles EPA-estimated | $60,295 |
The 307-, 292-, 276- and 272-mile figures are EPA-estimated ratings reported by Lexus, not independent road-test results. Wheel selection is therefore a real buying decision: the optional 21-inch wheels reduce the ES 350e rating by 15 miles and the ES 500e rating by 4 miles.
Premium versus Luxury
Premium is the lower-priced grade in each drivetrain. Luxury costs $8,400 more for either the 350e or 500e and is aimed at buyers who want additional comfort and cabin features. The ES 350e Luxury’s available Executive Package is notable for rear passengers, with an ottoman on the passenger side and heated, ventilated and massaging rear outboard seats. Confirm package content and availability on the vehicle’s window sticker because option packaging can vary.
Range: how to read the numbers correctly
The ES and RZ figures are not measured on exactly the same basis. ES values are EPA-estimated; RZ values are Lexus manufacturer estimates. Comparing 307 EPA-estimated miles directly with 301 manufacturer-estimated miles can suggest a precision the tests do not support. Treat both as planning references and compare vehicles with the wheel size, drivetrain and rating method shown alongside the number.
- Longest cited range: ES 350e, 307 EPA-estimated miles with standard 19-inch wheels.
- Longest RZ estimate: RZ 350e FWD, approximately 301 manufacturer-estimated miles with 18-inch wheels.
- AWD trade-off: RZ 450e is approximately 264 miles; ES 500e is 276 miles on standard 19-inch wheels.
- Performance trade-off: RZ 550e F SPORT is approximately 229 miles with 20-inch wheels.
Temperature, wind, speed, terrain, payload, tire pressure, cabin heating or cooling and traffic all affect actual consumption. Lexus explicitly warns that RZ range varies with weather and other factors. Build a reserve into winter or remote-route planning rather than treating the published figure as the distance between required charging stops.

Charging: ports, times and what you need at home
NACS is standard on the 2026 models
Both the 2026 RZ and ES BEV use a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. The RZ has an 11-kW onboard AC charger. Lexus quotes about 30 minutes to move from 10% to 80% on a DC fast charger under ideal conditions. The ES also uses an 11-kW onboard charger; Lexus estimates about seven hours for Level 2 charging and about 28 minutes from 10% to 80% on Level 3 DC, with charging speeds up to 150 kW.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Charging method | RZ | ES 350e/500e | What changes the result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home AC Level 2 | 11-kW onboard charger; exact time depends on starting state of charge and circuit | About seven hours under Lexus’s stated conditions | Electrical supply, installed station output, battery temperature and charge level |
| DC fast charging, 10–80% | About 30 minutes under ideal conditions | About 28 minutes under ideal conditions; up to 150 kW | Station power, battery temperature, state of charge and site sharing |
| Portable or household AC | Not stated in the cited RZ material | Dual-voltage 120V/240V cable included | Outlet rating and circuit capacity determine charging speed |
These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed session times. DC charging generally slows as the battery approaches a high state of charge, so a 10–80% stop is a more useful comparison than a full 0–100% claim. Weather, battery conditioning, charger output and vehicle configuration can lengthen a session.
Home charging setup
The ES includes a dual-voltage 120V/240V charging cable and a J1772-to-NACS adapter. That equipment means a separate wall-mounted Level 2 station is optional, not a documented requirement. A 240V circuit and suitable receptacle can provide substantially faster AC charging than a standard 120V outlet, but the home’s panel capacity, wiring distance, outlet type and local code must be checked by a qualified electrician.
- Ask the dealer to confirm the vehicle’s included cable, adapter and connector configuration on the exact VIN or window sticker.
- Have an electrician evaluate panel capacity, grounding, breaker size, cable route and the intended 120V or 240V outlet before buying a station.
- Choose an AC station whose plug, amperage and installation requirements match both the vehicle and the home’s circuit.
- Set a charging schedule around your utility’s off-peak period if your tariff offers one, and verify that the vehicle or station supports the schedule.
- After installation, test the connection at a moderate state of charge and check for heat, nuisance breaker trips or error messages before relying on it overnight.
Public charging and Plug & Charge
Lexus says the RZ gains access to roughly 25,000 additional Tesla Supercharger plugs in North America and identifies IONNA, ChargePoint and EVgo among other DC fast-charging networks. The RZ and other 2026 Lexus BEVs support Plug & Charge after one-time enrollment in the Lexus app; Lexus identifies the Tesla Supercharger Network as the first network enabled for this feature, with other networks to follow.
For the ES, Lexus says the included cable and J1772-to-NACS adapter provide compatibility with more than 76,000 Level 2 and Level 3 public charging stations nationwide. Plug & Charge requires an active Remote Connect trial or subscription after enrollment. Network coverage, pricing and station operation vary by location, so check the charging app before a long trip rather than assuming every listed plug is available or working.

Adapter information for 2023–2025 RZ owners
Lexus announced one complimentary NACS charging adapter through dealers for owners of 2023–2025 RZ models. Eligibility and fulfillment details can change. Contact Lexus or a participating dealer to confirm the offer for a specific vehicle. Lexus warns that an unauthorized charging accessory may void warranty coverage or negatively affect performance and safety; do not substitute an unverified adapter simply because it is cheaper or immediately available.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What a Lexus EV really costs to own
The listed vehicle prices are only the starting point for a location-specific calculation. The RZ range is $47,395–$58,395 including DPH. The ES BEV range is $48,895–$60,295 including a $1,395 DPH charge. Dealer discounts, accessories, taxes, registration, financing or lease charges and insurance can move the final number substantially.
Inputs for your own ownership estimate
- Transaction price: use the written dealer quote, including destination, documentation charges, accessories and any discount.
- Financing or lease: compare total interest or lease payments, acquisition fees, mileage limits and end-of-term charges rather than only the advertised monthly payment.
- Electricity: multiply your annual miles by expected kWh per mile and your utility’s delivered rate. Include a separate rate for public DC charging when you use it.
- Charging installation: obtain an electrician’s quote for a 240V circuit or wall station; panel upgrades can cost more than the station itself.
- Insurance, taxes and registration: request quotes for the exact trim and your address. These vary by state, insurer and driver profile.
- Maintenance and tires: follow the vehicle’s service schedule and budget for tire replacement; heavier EVs and performance tires can have different wear costs.
- Annual mileage and charging mix: a commuter charging mostly at home has a different cost profile from a high-mileage driver relying on paid DC stations.
No single monthly or lifetime ownership figure is valid without those inputs. The ES’s included dual-voltage cable can eliminate the need to buy a separate charging station, but it does not eliminate possible electrical work or the cost of electricity.
How to choose between the trims
Pick the RZ 350e or ES 350e for maximum published range
Both are single-motor, front-drive vehicles. The ES 350e has the higher published rating at 307 EPA-estimated miles with 19-inch wheels, while the RZ 350e offers the SUV body and approximately 301 manufacturer-estimated miles with 18-inch wheels. Choose between them based on seating position, cargo access, parking needs and the rating method you prefer, not on a six-mile difference that comes from different test labels.

Pick the RZ 550e F SPORT for output and chassis character
The 550e F SPORT’s 402 horsepower is the lineup’s highest output. Its 20-inch wheels and approximately 229-mile estimate make it the least suitable choice if frequent long-distance travel is the priority. Confirm tire replacement pricing and local availability before committing to the performance configuration.
Pick ES Luxury when rear-seat comfort is a core requirement
The ES Luxury grades carry the highest equipment level, and the ES 350e Luxury can add the Executive Package with the rear-seat ottoman and heated, ventilated and massaging rear outboard seats. This is a comfort decision, not a range upgrade: drivetrain and wheel choice still determine the published mileage.
Buying and delivery checklist
- Confirm the exact model year and trim. Ask for the window sticker and verify motor count, drive type, wheel diameter, battery specification and included charging equipment.
- Check the price basis. Separate the advertised vehicle price and DPH from taxes, registration, dealer fees, accessories, financing and any protection products.
- Match the range claim to the wheels. Make sure a quote for an ES with 21-inch wheels does not use the 19-inch rating, and that an RZ quote identifies the 18- or 20-inch setup.
- Test your charging route. Confirm a usable home outlet or obtain an installation quote, then map dependable public DC stations along your regular long-distance routes.
- Enroll connected services deliberately. Ask which Remote Connect trial or subscription is included and what Plug & Charge functions remain after the trial ends.
- Request written accessory terms. If considering the RZ 450e performance upgrade or an adapter, obtain current availability, price and warranty language from the dealer.
- Get insurance and electricity estimates. Use the exact VIN where possible and your utility’s actual residential and public-charging rates.
- Leave a battery reserve. Plan to arrive at a charger with a buffer for weather, detours, traffic and a station that is occupied or offline.
Common pitfalls and fixes
Mistaking a rating for a promise
Problem: expecting 301 RZ miles or 307 ES miles in every season. Fix: treat the figure as a standardized estimate, preserve its wheel and test-basis qualification, and use a conservative trip plan in cold or high-speed conditions.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Assuming every fast-charge session takes 28–30 minutes
Problem: arriving with a cold battery, a high starting state of charge or a charger that cannot deliver the vehicle’s peak power. Fix: precondition when the vehicle supports it, select a functioning high-power site and plan around the 10–80% window rather than a full charge.
Buying a wall station before checking the electrical panel
Problem: an installation that requires a panel upgrade, long cable run or a different receptacle than expected. Fix: get an electrician’s assessment first and match the station’s amperage to the permitted circuit.
Comparing trims only by monthly payment
Problem: a lower payment hides a longer loan, higher interest, a large down payment or lease mileage penalties. Fix: compare total cash price, total finance or lease obligation, insurance and charging costs over the period you expect to keep the vehicle.
Using an unapproved charging adapter
Problem: compatibility, safety or warranty risk. Fix: use Lexus-supplied equipment or confirm an accessory’s approval and current fitment with Lexus or a dealer.

Start with the body style and charging routine, then choose drivetrain. The ES 350e Premium is the range leader on the cited figures and the least expensive ES configuration. The RZ 350e is the value and range choice if you specifically want an SUV. Move to the ES 500e or RZ 450e when AWD is worth the added price and reduced range. Choose Luxury for equipment and rear-seat comfort, and choose the RZ 550e F SPORT only when its 402-hp performance mission outweighs its approximately 229-mile estimate. Before signing, verify the wheel-size rating, included cable and adapter, current dealer price, home electrical requirements and your local cost of electricity.
