After contacting Amazon, the buyer received replacements that they also considered unsatisfactory, then returned the parts.
That is one buyer’s account, not an independent inspection or a representative study of Centric C-Tek rotors. The thread does not establish whether the parts were genuine, what caused the reported marks, or whether the conditions would have affected braking. A company response quoted in the discussion disputed how the account fit its products and requested product, invoice, and packaging details; the thread does not independently authenticate that response or settle the parts’ provenance.
What does the story say about buying brake parts?
It is a useful reminder to inspect delivered parts and confirm what you are buying. It is not evidence that inexpensive brakes are generally unsafe, that expensive brakes necessarily stop better, or that price alone predicts quality.
