The Lancia Delta S by MOMODESIGN was a 2013 special series of the Delta, not a new generation. Lancia opened orders in Italy on 4 April 2013, pairing distinctive styling and equipment with four market-specific engine choices. Its Italian prices and performance figures are period manufacturer claims, not current valuations or independent test results.
What was the Lancia Delta S by MOMODESIGN?
It was a special series announced by Lancia in April 2013, created through a renewed collaboration with Italian design brand MOMODESIGN. Lancia described the changes as aesthetic and color interventions on the existing Delta; Italian orders opened on 4 April 2013. The company positioned the car around style and sportiness, using period marketing language aimed at a metropolitan male customer. Lancia’s Italian-market announcement is the basis for those launch details.
The “S” logo was presented as shorthand for “Style, Substance and sports Seduction.” That was Lancia’s explanation of the branding, not a separate mechanical specification.
What changed on the Delta S?
Exterior styling
Lancia’s Italian announcement listed body-color side skirts and bumpers, dark-chrome finishes, burnished headlights, dark-shadow-finish 18-inch wheels, twin chrome exhaust outlets and a gloss-black tailgate. The listed paint choices included new Antracite Grey metallic and Antracite Grey/Eclissi Black two-tone finishes, alongside Zenit White, Magma Black and Zenit White/Eclissi Black two-tone.

| Italian-market engine | Fuel | Output | 2013 price listed by Lancia |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.4 Turbo Jet | Petrol | 120 HP | €23,400 |
| 1.4 Turbo Jet LPG | LPG | 120 HP | €25,400 |
| 1.6 MultiJet | Diesel | 120 HP | €26,400 |
| 1.9 Twin Turbo MultiJet | Diesel | 190 HP | €26,400 |
For the 1.9 Twin Turbo MultiJet, Lancia quoted 190 HP and 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm, a top speed of 222 km/h and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds. These are the manufacturer’s published figures, not independent test results. Lancia explained the “Twin Turbo” name by describing a compact, low-inertia turbocharger for response at lower engine speeds and a larger turbocharger for higher power. The engine announcement gives those specifications.
How did the specifications differ by market?
The Delta S was not presented with one universal lineup or price. Lancia’s regional releases describe different launch contexts and details:

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this the same Delta as the planned electric model?
No. The Delta S by MOMODESIGN was a 2013 special series based on the Delta of that period. In 2023, Stellantis described a separate new Delta as planned for 2028 and fully electric; that was a company plan, not confirmation that a vehicle launched on schedule or that it was a successor to this special series. Stellantis’s 2023 strategy announcement is the source of that planned timing.

A separate Stellantis announcement dated 16 September 2026 names the new Lancia Gamma among planned Paris Motor Show premieres; it does not describe a return of the 2013 Delta S. The 2026 event announcement concerns that separate event context.
