Lamborghini designer Mitja Borkert unveiled Manifesto in October 2025 to mark 20 years of the company’s in-house design center, Centro Stile. It is a design sculpture—not a running car, production preview, or announcement of a future model. Borkert said it has no engine; its purpose is to express how the team sees Lamborghini’s design language evolving.
What is Lamborghini Manifesto?
Manifesto is a sculpture created by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile design team. Borkert, the studio’s design director, revealed and discussed it at the Museo Lamborghini during an event marking the design center’s anniversary, according to Car Design News. Car and Driver also reported the unveiling in October 2025 and described the work as a styling exercise rather than a production-car preview: Car and Driver.
“There is no engine inside, this is a pure sculpture, a design manifesto,” Borkert told Car Design News. That distinction matters: Manifesto shows a design vision, but it does not establish that Lamborghini plans to build this shape, use particular hardware, or introduce a specific model.
Which Lamborghini design cues does it emphasize?
Borkert pointed to a shark-nose front, hexagonal wheels, and Y-shaped signatures as deliberate references to Lamborghini’s visual language. He described the body side as clean and the rear Y motif as vertical. The concept brings those cues together as an exploration of shape rather than a technical specification.

Car and Driver describes a sharp, wedge-shaped body with angular creases, Y-shaped head- and taillight motifs, and a deep rear diffuser. The visible slots prompted speculation that they might evoke a V-12, but that is an interpretation of the styling, not a powertrain clue. Borkert said the sculpture has no engine and was not making a statement about one.
Why did Lamborghini reveal it in 2025?
The reveal coincided with the 20th anniversary of Centro Stile. Lamborghini says the design department was inaugurated in the early 2000s and completed its first car in 2005; October 2025 marked its official 20th anniversary. The company describes Centro Stile as the first in-house design department of its kind for a super sports car manufacturer. That is Lamborghini’s characterization of its own history. For Borkert, the sculpture is meant to serve as a guide for future design thinking. “This sculpture is like a compass that is guiding us into the future,” he told Car Design News. In context, that describes an internal creative direction—not a promise that a future Lamborghini will look exactly like Manifesto.
