Lamborghini unveiled the Temerario GT3 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2025. The race car made its competitive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026, and by August it had scored its first global victory and first pole. It is based on the road-going Temerario but adapted for GT3 competition, with a modified aluminum spaceframe, a twin-turbo V8 and a six-speed gearbox.
What is the Lamborghini Temerario GT3?
The Temerario GT3 is the racing version of Lamborghini’s Temerario, built for GT3 competition. Lamborghini says it is the first competition car that its Squadra Corse motorsport division designed, developed and built entirely in-house from the outset. The project also marks a change from the Huracán GT3 Evo2: Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr told IMSA that Squadra Corse was developing “an entire new race car without a sister car.” IMSA’s September 24, 2025 report
How the GT3 differs from the road-going Temerario
The race car retains the road model’s basic aluminum spaceframe architecture, but Lamborghini says the structure was modified to increase racing strength and improve service access. Its engine is based on the road Temerario’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Lamborghini says the GT3 version has redesigned turbocharging components to meet GT3 regulations, and its Sebring announcement specifies a six-speed transmission. The reviewed manufacturer accounts do not provide a definitive GT3 power figure, so a race output should not be inferred from the road car’s specifications. First victory and pole: August 2026
IMSA reported that the car earned its first global victory at Road America with Caldarelli and Mitchell, then took its first pole at VIR. IMSA recorded the VIR qualifying lap as 1 minute, 44.773 seconds on the 3.27-mile, 17-turn course, at an average speed of 112.356 mph.
