Lamborghini quotes 920 CV (677 kW) of combined output, a 343 km/h top speed and a 0–100 km/h time of 2.7 seconds. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified test results. The word “reckless” suggests a judgment about the car; the established story is a major change in engine layout and electrification, not a verified safety finding.
What is the Lamborghini Temerario?
The Temerario is Lamborghini’s successor to the Huracán. The company unveiled it at Monterey Car Week in August 2024 as part of its hybridization strategy. Lamborghini classifies it as a High Performance Electrified Vehicle. Lamborghini’s model page provides current specifications, while its reveal announcement establishes the model’s role in the lineup. Car and Driver also covered the shift from the Huracán to the V8 hybrid layout in its Temerario reveal coverage.
How does its powertrain differ from the Huracán’s?
The Huracán generation is associated with a naturally aspirated V10. The Temerario instead pairs a 3,995.2 cm³ (4.0-liter) twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors. That is the central tradeoff behind the successor: a different engine configuration and hybrid assistance, rather than a continuation of the V10 formula.
Lamborghini reports 920 CV (677 kW) as the combined output of the combustion engine and electric motors. Keep that system figure distinct from the engine’s own maximum: the company’s July 2025 technical launch report says the V8 produces up to 800 CV between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm and reaches a maximum engine speed of 10,000 rpm. The same report gives overall torque as 800 Nm. These are Lamborghini-published figures, not independent measurements. See the July 2025 launch report for the engine and system details.

What performance does Lamborghini claim?
Lamborghini lists a top speed of 343 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. These figures describe the manufacturer’s claimed performance; the available sources do not provide independent instrumented verification. The fact that Lamborghini held a media drive at Portugal’s Estoril circuit does not, by itself, validate the published numbers.
What do the fuel-economy and emissions figures mean?
The figures differ by market and test method, so they should not be compared as if they came from one shared cycle.

- WLTP: Lamborghini’s 2026 brochure lists weighted-combined energy consumption of 4.3–6.4 kWh/100 km plus 10.3–11.2 l/100 km, and weighted-combined CO₂ emissions of 252–272 g/km. For a discharged battery, the brochure lists fuel consumption of 14.0 l/100 km.
The EPA and WLTP values come from different regional test frameworks. They are official-cycle figures, not a guarantee of any owner’s real-world consumption. The brochure’s figures are in Lamborghini’s 2026 Temerario brochure.
Does Lamborghini say the hybrid system is simpler than the Huracán’s?
In a January 2025 article about the Temerario’s spaceframe, Lamborghini said the hybrid powertrain has over 50% fewer components than the Huracán’s “under the same parameters.” That comparison is limited to the powertrain and the parameters used by the company. It does not establish that the entire car is 50% simpler or lighter, nor does it prove lower repair costs or greater reliability. Lamborghini also describes the spaceframe’s construction as optimized for weight and reduced complexity; that wording is not a published comparative vehicle-weight result. What is not established by the published figures?
The cited materials do not establish a current regional price, market-by-market delivery timing, battery capacity, electric-only range, charging rate, real-world fuel use, or an independently measured performance comparison with the Huracán. Those details should not be inferred from the powertrain layout or the manufacturer’s headline specifications.
