What was the Lamborghini Cervélo triathlon bike?
Called the Cervélo P5X Lamborghini edition, the bike was jointly presented by Automobili Lamborghini and Cervélo Cycles at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Lamborghini announced the collaboration on 8 March 2018. It combined Cervélo’s P5X triathlon-bike platform with a design treatment by Lamborghini Centro Stile.
Lamborghini Chief Marketing Officer Katia Bassi said the company’s Accademia drivers had trained on Cervélo bikes and described them as “special” and “fast.” Cervélo Managing Director Robert de Jonge characterized the limited edition as uniting brands focused on products and performance. These were company representatives’ launch comments, not independent performance findings.
What made the edition distinctive?
Lamborghini styling
Lamborghini says Centro Stile created the artwork. The stated signatures were a yellow topcoat and Y-shaped patterning across the frame and fork. The treatment gave the P5X a visual connection to Lamborghini without changing the identity of its underlying bicycle platform.

Limited production
Lamborghini’s 2018 release said the production run was 25 bikes. Each was marked with a number on the seat post showing its position in that run. That makes provenance important when assessing a bike advertised as the Lamborghini edition: the standard P5X is not the same limited-edition model.
What did the companies say about its engineering?
The launch announcement described integrated aerodynamic storage and micro-adjustability, and reported more than 180 hours of wind-tunnel testing during development. That figure is the companies’ reported development work; it is not evidence by itself of a particular speed gain. The launch sources provide no independent test results or comparative race-time data establishing how much faster this edition was than a standard P5X or another triathlon bike.

Can you still buy the Lamborghini edition?
The 2018 launch information establishes that 25 bikes were produced, but does not establish present-day new or used availability, a current market value, or a live sales listing. Cervélo’s current time-trial and triathlon page lists the P5 and P-Series families, but does not confirm stock of the Lamborghini edition: Cervélo triathlon bikes.
If considering a secondhand listing, check that it is specifically the Lamborghini P5X, verify the seat-post production number and the frame-and-fork graphics, and request clear photographs and documentation. Confirm fit, condition, and the actual build specification rather than assuming those details from the edition name. A listing for a P5X or another Cervélo model alone does not establish that it is one of the 25 Lamborghini bikes.
