The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual single-seat V12 hybrid concept unveiled in 2019, not a 2020 production car. Here is its design story, 818.5 BHP game specification, Gran Turismo 7 availability, and LEGO set 76923 details.

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual single-seat hypercar concept for the Gran Turismo series—not a production Lamborghini. It was unveiled in Monaco on November 24, 2019, uses a game specification derived from the Sián FKP37’s V12 supercapacitor hybrid system, and can be driven in Gran Turismo 7. A full-size show model and LEGO set 76923 give the design a physical presence, but neither makes it a street-legal car.

The short answer

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual single-seat hypercar concept created by Lamborghini Centro Stile for the Gran Turismo Vision Gran Turismo project. It is available as a drivable car in Gran Turismo 7, but it is not a production Lamborghini, a street-legal prototype, or a car that customers can buy and register.

The “2020” label needs clarification: Lamborghini and Gran Turismo publicly unveiled the concept at the FIA Gran Turismo Championships World Finals in Monaco on November 24, 2019. The car is often associated with the 2020 game era, but 2019 is the correct reveal year.

What is the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo?

The V12 Vision Gran Turismo is Lamborghini’s interpretation of a futuristic digital racing car. It was designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese under Head of Design Mitja Borkert, specifically for the Gran Turismo Vision project.

Unlike a conventional concept car previewing a future road model, the V12 Vision GT was conceived primarily around the player’s experience. Lamborghini and Gran Turismo describe it as a virtual racer, although Lamborghini also built a full-size physical show model. That physical model makes the design easier to study in person, but it does not turn the concept into a production vehicle.

The design process began with sketches, moved to a digital 1:3-scale model approved by Kazunori Yamauchi and Mitja Borkert, and culminated in a full-size model developed between 2018 and 2019. The result is best understood as a digital racing sculpture brought to life in both software and physical form.

Why it has only one seat

The most important feature inside the V12 Vision GT is its centered, single-seat cockpit. There is no passenger seat. The driver sits centrally, with the controls and visual information arranged around one person rather than a conventional left- or right-hand driving position.

Lamborghini’s design description compares entering the car with entering a jet fighter. The intention is to make the player feel like a pilot rather than a passenger in an ordinary supercar. The concept also incorporates a digitally projected, voice-controlled cockpit, reinforcing that it was designed without the practical compromises normally imposed by a road car.

This layout is visually dramatic, but it also shows why the V12 Vision GT should not be treated as a disguised production-car preview. A centered single-seat cabin, projected interface, and extreme bodywork would require substantial engineering and regulatory work before they could be used in a normal road vehicle.

Exterior design: classic Lamborghini references in a futuristic shape

The V12 Vision GT combines familiar Lamborghini themes with design elements that would be difficult to mistake for a conventional showroom car.

  • One-line silhouette: The side profile retains Lamborghini’s characteristic visual connection from the nose through the roof and toward the tail.
  • Separated bodywork and fenders: The main body appears visually distinct from the wheel-arch structures, giving the car a lightweight, almost aerospace-inspired appearance.
  • Large rear wing: The prominent wing makes the car’s virtual racing purpose obvious and dominates the rear view.
  • Hexagonal details: The side-window motifs and other geometric elements reference Lamborghini’s historical Marzal concept from 1968.
  • Y-shaped lighting: The front and rear lights use Lamborghini’s recognizable Y-shaped graphic, which also appears prominently on the model’s rear.
  • Gandini and Stratos Zero influence: The profile draws on the design language associated with Marcello Gandini and the Bertone Stratos Zero concept of 1970.

These references are not simply retro decoration. The Marzal and Stratos Zero connections place the V12 Vision GT within Lamborghini’s history of radical wedge-shaped and experimental designs, while the digital-project concept allows Centro Stile to push those ideas far beyond normal production constraints.

Engine and performance: what the 818.5 BHP figure means

The virtual car’s powertrain is derived from the Lamborghini Sián FKP37. Gran Turismo describes it as a mid-engine V12 hybrid system using a supercapacitor, with output of up to 818.5 BHP.

That figure belongs to the virtual concept. It should not be interpreted as a dyno result from a road-going V12 Vision GT, because Lamborghini has not presented this car as a production vehicle with independently tested road-car performance.

The Sián connection is significant. The V12 Vision GT uses the same broad technical idea—a Lamborghini V12 supported by a supercapacitor-based hybrid system—but applies it to a much more extreme, single-seat racing design. The powertrain is also deliberately left visually prominent. Instead of hiding the engine behind conventional bodywork, the concept treats the mechanical hardware as part of the car’s central visual display.

Is the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo a real car?

It is real as a design and display model, but not as a production road car.

Lamborghini built a full-size model, so photographs of a physical V12 Vision GT are not merely computer-generated images. However, the available manufacturer and Gran Turismo descriptions do not establish a production program, road certification, customer-sale plan, or street-legal version.

  • AUTHENTIC INTERIOR DESIGN - Detailed cockpit with sport bucket seats and driver-focused layout, inspired by the real Revuelto’s aerospace-style interior.

That distinction matters when reading specifications or shopping for the car online:

  • It is not a production Lamborghini model.
  • It is not established as street legal.
  • It is not offered for normal customer purchase.
  • The 818.5 BHP output is a virtual-concept specification.
  • The full-size model is a design-study/show object, not evidence of a road-car launch.

In practical terms, the only normal way to drive the V12 Vision GT is digitally through the Gran Turismo ecosystem.

How to drive it in Gran Turismo 7

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo is listed as a vehicle in Gran Turismo 7. The game launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022, and provides the main access point for the concept.

Gran Turismo 7 supports more than simple racing. Depending on how you play, the V12 Vision GT can be used for:

  • Car collecting: Add the concept to a digital garage alongside production cars and other Vision Gran Turismo vehicles.
  • Tuning and setup work: Adjust the car within the game’s available systems rather than treating it as a fixed showpiece.
  • Competitive driving: Use it in eligible races and online events where the regulations permit it.
  • Photography: Place the car in the game’s photographic environments and study its surfaces, lighting, and proportions.
  • Casual exploration: Inspect the car and experience its unusual cockpit without needing a physical concept-car exhibit.

Game content, event eligibility, pricing, and availability can change with updates. Gran Turismo 7 continues to receive official updates; the cited update archive records Update 1.70 in June 2026, while the December 2025 Spec III update added cars, circuits, Data Logger features, Weekly Challenge enhancements, and new Café content. Check the current in-game and official update information before assuming that a particular event, feature, or purchase path is unchanged.

PS4, PS5, and VR considerations

Gran Turismo 7 is available on both PS4 and PS5. A PS4 copy can be played on PS5, but the details depend on whether the game is physical or digital and whether the console is a PS5 Digital Edition. Disc-based upgrade and disc-console requirements are especially important: a PS5 Digital Edition cannot use a PS4 game disc.

PlayStation VR2 is supported on PS5 and is optional. You do not need VR2 to drive or view the Lamborghini in the standard game. It is best considered an immersion upgrade for players who want a more convincing cockpit perspective, not a requirement for accessing the vehicle.

A compatible racing wheel and pedal set is another sensible option for simulation-focused players. Compatibility and supported features vary by hardware and console, so a specific wheel should be checked against the current PS5 and Gran Turismo 7 compatibility information before purchase.

The LEGO model: a physical way to own the design

For readers who want something tangible, the most direct match is the LEGO Speed Champions Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT Super Car, set 76923. It is based specifically on the virtual Lamborghini design rather than being a generic Lamborghini-branded model.

The official model contains 230 pieces and is rated for builders aged 10 and older. Its details include:

  • A single-seat cockpit
  • A split rear wing
  • Hexagonal wheel details
  • Dual tailpipes
  • Gran Turismo logos
  • Y-shaped taillights
  • A driver minifigure

The set is a small buildable model, not a scale replica of the full-size show car. It is nevertheless one of the most faithful physical collectibles for this particular concept because it reproduces the design’s defining visual cues.

The table intentionally does not list road-car acceleration, top speed, price, curb weight, or dimensions. Those figures are either not established for a production vehicle or would risk presenting a virtual concept as though it had undergone normal road-car testing.

Why the concept matters

The V12 Vision GT demonstrates how a manufacturer can use a game-specific concept to explore ideas that would be impractical for a conventional production program. Lamborghini could exaggerate the cockpit, body separation, aerodynamic surfaces, lighting, and engine presentation while keeping the design connected to real brand history and a recognizable V12 hybrid theme.

It also occupies an unusual middle ground. It is not only a digital asset: Lamborghini invested in a full-size model and presented it publicly. But it is not a prototype in the normal engineering sense either. There is no evidence in the supplied manufacturer material that the full-size model was intended for road testing, certification, or series production.

That combination explains its appeal. Players can drive it, collectors can build a LEGO version, and design enthusiasts can examine a physical interpretation of the concept—without confusing any of those experiences with owning a road-going Lamborghini.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo revealed in 2020?

The concept was publicly unveiled on November 24, 2019, at the FIA Gran Turismo Championships World Finals in Monaco. The 2020 label is a later game-era association or title convention, not the correct reveal year.

Can I buy a LEGO model of the Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo?

LEGO Speed Champions set 76923 is the most direct physical collectible. It is a 230-piece model with a single-seat cockpit, split rear wing, hexagonal details, Gran Turismo branding, and Y-shaped taillights. LEGO currently marks the set retired, so marketplace price and stock need to be checked before buying.

The Bottom Line

The Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo is a virtual, single-seat V12 hybrid concept unveiled in 2019 and available in Gran Turismo 7. Its 818.5 BHP figure applies to the game car, not a tested production vehicle. The full-size show model and LEGO set 76923 make the design physically tangible, but neither establishes that Lamborghini built a street-legal or commercially available road car.
