Short answer: choose the Komaki X-One when your commute is short, urban, speed-limited and purchase price is the priority. Choose the Ola S1 X Gen 3 when you need more range, substantially higher road speed, a larger battery choice or a longer warranty-distance limit. The right value depends on the exact X-One configuration and your local on-road price, because the published X-One figures refer to different variants.

Komaki X-One vs Ola S1 X Gen 3 at a glance

These scooters target different commuting needs. The cited Komaki X-One specification is a low-speed city model with a 25 km/h top speed and a 1.75 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. The Ola S1 X Gen 3 is available with 2, 3 or 4 kWh batteries, and its published performance rises sharply with battery size.

Why the Komaki X-One numbers appear inconsistent

Two published X-One configurations are being compared in current coverage. Komaki’s product page displays ₹51,499 for an 85+ km version with a 1.75 kWh battery. An independent comparison updated October 17, 2026 lists a base X-One at ₹34,999 ex-showroom, with a 60 km claimed range and a 1.63 kWh battery. Those are not the same configuration, so the lower price and lower range should not be substituted for the official 85+ km model.

Before comparing a quote with the Ola, ask the seller to write down the battery capacity, claimed range, charger, software or equipment level and whether the figure is ex-showroom or on-road. A price comparison that mixes the ₹34,999 base figure with the ₹51,499 85+ km version can make the X-One look either cheaper or better equipped than the scooter you would actually receive.

Range: which one suits your commute?

Komaki X-One’s 85+ km claim

The cited X-One page claims more than 85 km for its 1.75 kWh LiFePO4 battery. That is a manufacturer claim, not a measured everyday result. The 25 km/h top speed limits the conditions under which the scooter is intended to operate and makes it most appropriate for short urban trips, local errands and roads where that speed is acceptable.

The independent comparison’s 60 km figure belongs to the smaller 1.63 kWh base configuration. If your dealer is offering that version, use the 60 km claim for planning rather than the 85+ km figure. Confirm the variant on the invoice and vehicle documents.

Ola S1 X Gen 3’s three battery options

Ola publishes 108 km IDC for the 2 kWh version, 176 km IDC for the 3 kWh version and 242 km IDC for the 4 kWh version. IDC is a standardized test-cycle figure, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed distance in traffic. The larger packs provide more published range headroom, but they also change the purchase price and the scooter’s specification. The starting price of ₹84,999 applies to the range, not automatically to every battery variant.

For a commute of only a few kilometres each way, the 2 kWh Ola may already offer more published range than needed. For a longer daily route, frequent detours or fewer charging opportunities, the 3 or 4 kWh variants reduce the need to recharge as often. Confirm the price and availability of the specific battery size; the headline starting price does not establish the on-road price of each variant.

How to translate a claim into a sensible commute plan

Use your round-trip distance, not just the one-way trip, and leave a reserve for traffic, hills, weather, passenger weight and battery ageing. For example, a 20 km round trip repeated five days a week is 100 km of weekly travel before errands. A scooter advertised at 85+ km would not provide a full week on one charge under that simple arithmetic, while an Ola’s published 108 km IDC figure would also leave little margin once real conditions reduce the result. The calculation is a planning illustration, not a real-world range test.

Record the distance of your actual route with a map app, then ask the dealer whether the displayed range is tested under a specified cycle and whether a reserve or minimum battery percentage is recommended. If you cannot charge at work or at home, select a battery with enough margin for your longest day rather than your average day.

Speed and road suitability

Where the X-One makes sense

The official X-One page lists a 25 km/h top speed. That is suitable for slow residential streets, campus-style travel and congested city lanes where traffic moves at a similar pace. It is a poor match for routes that require keeping up with faster traffic, crossing high-speed corridors or maintaining pace on roads where 25 km/h would leave you vulnerable. Check local rules and the road classification before buying; a scooter’s legal and practical suitability depends on where it will be ridden.

What the Ola’s speed range changes

The S1 X Gen 3 is listed at 101 km/h with the 2 kWh battery, 115 km/h with 3 kWh and 123 km/h with 4 kWh. Those figures give the Ola a much wider operating envelope for mixed urban and higher-speed routes. They do not mean you should ride at those speeds everywhere. Helmet use, road rules, traffic conditions and the scooter’s braking and tyre condition remain more important than the headline maximum.

If your route never legally or safely exceeds 25 km/h, the Ola’s additional speed capability may add cost without improving the commute. If your route includes faster arterial roads, the X-One’s limit is a fundamental constraint, not a minor specification difference.

Purchase price and total value

The independent comparison lists ₹34,999 ex-showroom for a base X-One and ₹84,999 ex-showroom for a base S1 X. Komaki’s own page simultaneously displays ₹51,499 for the 85+ km X-One version, while Ola’s official page lists ₹84,999 as the S1 X Gen 3 starting price. Because the X-One figures refer to different battery configurations, compare like for like before deciding that one is a fixed amount cheaper.

Price question Why it matters What to confirm
Which X-One variant? The 1.63 kWh base and 1.75 kWh 85+ km versions have different published range and price figures. Battery capacity, claimed range and exact model code on the quotation.
Ex-showroom or on-road? Registration, insurance, taxes and local fees can change the amount you actually pay. A written on-road breakup for your city.
Which Ola battery? The ₹84,999 starting price does not establish the price of the 3 or 4 kWh versions. Variant price, delivery charges and any current offer in writing.
What is included? Chargers, accessories and software or equipment packages may differ by trim. Included charger, warranty documents and standard equipment list.

The X-One is the clear price-led choice only when its lower-speed capability and shorter published range are adequate. Paying less for a scooter that cannot cover your route or legally suit your roads is false economy; paying more for speed and battery capacity you will never use may also be poor value.

Warranty and ownership protection

Komaki coverage

Komaki lists three years or 30,000 km for the battery, motor and controller, plus a one-year charger warranty. The term is whichever limit is reached first, and warranty exclusions and required maintenance still apply. Obtain the written warranty policy, including coverage for battery capacity loss, water exposure, accident damage, consumables and unauthorized repairs.

Ola coverage

Ola lists a three-year or 40,000 km battery warranty for the S1 X Gen 3. That gives a higher stated distance limit for the battery than the X-One’s 30,000 km limit. The cited specification does not establish the motor, controller or charger warranty, so ask for those terms rather than assuming they match the battery policy.

Daily-commute decision by route type

Short, slow, price-sensitive city trips

Choose the X-One when your route is comfortably within its 25 km/h operating limit, your daily distance fits the particular battery variant and the lower purchase price matters most. Its listed 18-litre boot is useful for routine carry items, but check the shape and maximum load with the dealer if you regularly carry a bag or equipment.

Longer commutes or irregular weekly mileage

Choose the Ola when the route is long enough that the X-One’s published range leaves little reserve, or when detours and errands are common. The 2, 3 and 4 kWh choices let you buy range for your actual usage instead of being tied to one small pack. Select the battery only after calculating your longest regular day and confirming the local price.

Routes using faster roads

The Ola is the practical fit when the route requires speeds above the X-One’s listed 25 km/h limit. The S1 X Gen 3’s published 101–123 km/h range gives it capability the X-One does not have. That capability should be used only where permitted and safe.

Riders without dependable charging

Neither published specification establishes charging time, connector details or the availability of public chargers. If you cannot charge at home, confirm the actual charging process, socket requirements, charging cost and nearby service support before paying a deposit. A larger battery helps reduce charging frequency but does not remove the need for a reliable charging plan.

Published range versus real-world range

No controlled independent test of both scooters is established here, so there is no defensible single “real range” number for a direct comparison. The X-One’s 85+ km is a manufacturer claim; the Ola’s 108/176/242 km figures are IDC figures. Actual distance varies with speed, acceleration, rider and passenger weight, tyre pressure, gradients, temperature, traffic and battery age.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Treat the published figure as an upper planning reference, not a promise.
  • Use the longest route you actually ride when sizing the battery.
  • Keep a reserve for weather, diversions and a missed charging opportunity.
  • Ask the dealer for a demonstration ride on a route resembling yours and note the battery percentage before and after.
  • Do not infer the 85+ km X-One result for the smaller 1.63 kWh base model.

What to verify before you sign

  1. Write down the exact variant. Confirm the X-One battery (1.63 or 1.75 kWh) or the Ola battery (2, 3 or 4 kWh), along with the claimed or IDC range attached to it.
  2. Request the on-road quotation. Separate ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, delivery fees and accessories.
  3. Check charging requirements. Ask for charging time, included charger, socket requirements and the consequence of charging interruptions.
  4. Read the warranty exclusions. Confirm battery, motor, controller and charger coverage, kilometre limits, capacity-loss rules and transfer conditions.
  5. Check local service coverage. Ask who handles diagnostics, parts and warranty claims in your city and how long common parts normally take to arrive.
  6. Test the route. Ride on the roads you actually use, including a slope or rough section if those are part of the commute.
  7. Inspect practical fit. Check riding position, brake feel, stand effort, storage access, pillion space and whether the 18-litre X-One boot fits your daily load.
  8. Confirm delivery details. Get the promised battery, charger, colour, software version and delivery date on the order form.

Verdict: which scooter should you buy?

Buy the Komaki X-One if you have a short, predominantly urban commute, can live with a 25 km/h top speed and want the lowest entry price after confirming the exact battery variant. The cited 85+ km version costs ₹51,499 on Komaki’s 2026 product page and lists an 18-litre boot and three-year/30,000 km coverage for its battery, motor and controller.

Buy the Ola S1 X Gen 3 if you need higher-speed capability, more published range or the flexibility of 2, 3 and 4 kWh batteries. Its official figures list 108, 176 and 242 km IDC range respectively, 101–123 km/h top speed and a three-year/40,000 km battery warranty. Its ₹84,999 starting price is not the final price of every variant, so obtain a city-specific on-road quote.

In practical terms, the X-One is the value answer for a genuinely short and slow commute; the Ola is the more capable commuter when distance, road speed or battery choice matters. Make the decision using the exact variant and written on-road price, not a headline number from a different configuration.
