The Komaki X-One needs far less mechanical servicing than a petrol scooter, but it still depends on regular brake, tyre, fastener and electronic-system checks. Start with a quick safety inspection before every ride, do a more thorough check weekly, and have an authorized workshop inspect the scooter periodically. Budget for consumables and diagnosis rather than engine-oil services; a replacement battery is the largest potential expense, with Komaki stating a capacity-dependent range of ₹15,000–₹35,000.
What maintenance does a Komaki X-One need?
The X-One uses a BLDC hub motor and a LiFePO4 battery. That eliminates several petrol-scooter tasks: there is no engine oil, oil filter, spark plug, fuel injector, drive chain, gearbox or engine belt to replace. Maintenance instead centers on safety-critical wear items and electronics.

- Tyres and wheels: correct inflation, usable tread, intact sidewalls, wheel alignment and bearing condition.
- Brakes: pad or shoe wear, cable or lever operation, drum or disc condition and secure mounting.
- Electrical systems: battery, controller, motor connections, charger output, lights, indicators, horn, display and stored error codes.
- Chassis: suspension, steering, wheel play, fasteners and body panels.
- Charging equipment: dry, undamaged plugs and cable insulation, plus a charger that stops charging normally.
Komaki identifies tyres, brake pads and periodic electronic-system checks as its main routine maintenance areas. The motor design reduces service complexity, but it does not make the scooter maintenance-free.

The displayed prices are page snapshots, not a promise of today’s dealer price. Hardware shown in a model overview may not apply to every trim or production batch. Read the tyre sidewall and inspect the brake before placing an order; a 12-inch front tyre or a disc-brake pad cannot be substituted for a different size merely because it is listed for another X-One.
Before every ride: a two-minute safety check
- Test both brakes. Apply each brake separately while stationary, then roll slowly in a safe area. The levers should feel firm and the scooter should stop without pulling sharply to one side.
- Check the tyres. Look for a visibly low tyre, cuts, bulges, embedded objects or exposed cord. Confirm inflation against the pressure printed on the scooter, tyre or owner documentation rather than guessing.
- Check lights and controls. Turn on the headlamp, tail lamp, indicators and horn. Verify that the display, throttle and brake cut-off switches respond normally.
- Look for looseness. Inspect the handlebar, mirrors, wheel area, stand and visible fasteners. Any new wheel play, clicking or steering movement needs attention before riding.
- Watch for warnings. Do not set off if the display shows a serious fault, the battery smells unusual, a connector is hot or damaged, or charging has recently interrupted unexpectedly.
Weekly or frequent-use checklist
High-mileage riders, people carrying heavy loads and scooters parked outdoors should perform this inspection more often. It is a condition check, not a substitute for a workshop service.
- Inspect tyre tread across the full width and examine both sidewalls for cracking, punctures and uneven wear.
- Spin each wheel by hand with the scooter safely supported. Listen for grinding and check for side-to-side play that could indicate a bearing or axle problem.
- Operate the brake levers through their full travel. Look for frayed cables, damaged outer sheaths, leaking hydraulic fluid if fitted, or a lever that reaches the grip.
- Clean dust and mud from wheels, brakes and the underside with a damp cloth or low-pressure rinse. Never direct high-pressure water at battery, controller, display, motor or charging connectors.
- Check the charger plug, vehicle socket and cable insulation. Stop using a charger with bent pins, burn marks, looseness or exposed conductors.
- Inspect visible bolts, the stand, body fasteners and suspension for movement or new corrosion.
- Record changes in real-world range, charging time and battery percentage. A sudden drop or repeated charging interruption is a diagnostic clue, not normal aging to ignore.
What to request at periodic service
Komaki’s published material emphasizes periodic electronic checks, but it does not provide a public X-One interval schedule or an itemized routine-service tariff. Use the service reminder in your owner documents or dealer advice, and ask the workshop to write down what was inspected and replaced.

Mechanical inspection
- Measure brake-pad or brake-shoe wear and check discs or drums for scoring, contamination and overheating.
- Inspect brake cables, levers, return springs and mounts; adjust only until the wheel turns freely and braking remains strong.
- Check wheel bearings, axle torque, steering-head play, suspension operation and wheel alignment.
- Verify tyre size, tread and inflation; replace a damaged tyre or tube rather than repeatedly patching a casing with a bulge or sidewall cut.
- Retorque accessible fasteners and inspect the stand, grab rails, body panels and mudguards for cracks.
Electrical and electronic inspection
- Read stored error codes and inspect the battery, controller, motor and display connectors for looseness, corrosion or heat damage.
- Check charger output and the vehicle charging socket, including whether charging terminates normally.
- Test the headlamp, tail lamp, indicators, horn, brake switches, throttle response and any immobilizer or alarm functions fitted to the scooter.
- Ask for an electronic-system health check specifically; it is a primary maintenance area identified by Komaki, not an optional cosmetic check.
Request a written job card showing labor, each part number, taxes, transport or pickup charges and the warranty on replaced parts. This prevents a low initial quote from becoming an unexplained total.
Battery and charging care
- Use the supplied or an explicitly approved charger. A physically compatible plug is not proof that voltage, current and battery-management communication are correct.
- Keep the charger and connectors dry. Let a wet socket dry completely before connecting power.
- Place the charger on a hard, ventilated surface while charging; do not cover it with clothing or leave damaged cables in service.
- Do not continue riding after a serious electrical warning, smoke, abnormal heat, burning smell or visible battery damage. Isolate the scooter safely and contact an authorized service point.
- Keep the battery serial number and charger paperwork with the vehicle records. They are needed for a warranty claim.
Range varies with rider weight, speed, temperature, tyre pressure, terrain and battery age. Compare readings under similar conditions; one short trip is not a reliable capacity test.
Komaki X-One warranty coverage
Current X-One product pages state: “3 Year on Battery, Motor & Controller or 30,000 Km whichever is earlier.” The same pages state one year for the charger. Komaki’s warranty policy describes the battery period as 36 months, made up of 24 months warranty plus 12 months service warranty, or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.

| Component | Published coverage | How the limit works |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 36 months total (24-month warranty plus 12-month service warranty) | Ends at 30,000 km or the applicable time limit, whichever comes first |
| Motor | 3 years | Ends at 30,000 km or three years, whichever comes first |
| Controller | 3 years | Ends at 30,000 km or three years, whichever comes first |
| Charger | 1 year | Time limit stated for the charger |
Fire or water damage and misuse may void coverage under Komaki’s policy. Warranty wording can distinguish a replacement, repair and a service-warranty period, so read the terms on your invoice and warranty card rather than assuming every battery failure receives a new battery.
Documents and claim procedure
- Keep the original purchase invoice and note the chassis number.
- Record the battery, motor and controller serial numbers before a problem occurs.
- Report the fault to Komaki or an authorized service point and describe the warning, charging behavior and conditions when it appeared.
- Follow the instruction not to continue using the vehicle after reporting a fault for a claim; continued use can worsen damage and complicate assessment.
- Komaki says its technical-assessment response will come within 10 days. Keep the job number and ask what inspection or transport step comes next.
Common Komaki X-One service costs
There is no public, itemized Komaki tariff for routine X-One service in the available manufacturer material. The final bill depends on the variant, dealer labor rate, failed component and whether pickup or transport is required.
| Cost area | What can change the bill | Budgeting guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection and labor | Dealer rate, diagnostic time, adjustment work and transport | Get a written quote showing labor hours or a fixed inspection charge |
| Brake consumables | Pad versus shoe design, front-disc or front-drum hardware, contamination and labor | Provide the exact variant and ask whether fitting and adjustment are included |
| Tyres and tubes | 12-inch front/10-inch rear configuration or another fitted size, brand, tube and balancing | Read the sidewall and confirm the complete fitted price |
| Electrical diagnosis or charger | Error-code investigation, connector repair, charger testing or replacement | Ask for test results and a separate parts-and-labor breakdown |
| Battery replacement | Battery capacity and the approved replacement specification | Komaki publishes ₹15,000–₹35,000 by capacity; confirm the exact written quote |
Komaki’s ₹15,000–₹35,000 battery figure is a broad manufacturer range by capacity, not a guaranteed price for every dealer or variant. It does not establish installation, transport, taxes or disposal charges. Ask whether the quoted unit includes the battery-management system and whether the old battery must be returned.

A separate 2026 BikeCostCalc estimate of ₹3,000–₹6,000 per year over five years is only a rough planning reference. Its service description mixes petrol-scooter items such as engine oil, oil filters and spark plugs with electric-scooter work, so it is not an official Komaki price and should not be treated as the expected X-One annual bill.

Range suddenly drops
First check tyre pressure, brake drag, load, hills, wind and temperature. Compare charging completion and displayed battery percentage. If the change is abrupt, persists under similar conditions or comes with a warning, stop relying on range estimates and request a battery, controller and charger diagnostic.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The scooter will not charge
Inspect the wall supply, charger indicator, plugs and socket for moisture or damage. Do not force a loose connector or use a substitute charger. If the charger has power but the scooter repeatedly refuses to charge, arrange an authorized inspection rather than repeatedly reconnecting it.

Braking feels weak or noisy
Do not compensate by riding more slowly in traffic. Check for contamination, worn pads or shoes, cable slack and a damaged disc or drum. Have the system measured and adjusted; replace worn friction material instead of sanding or lubricating it.
There is wheel play, wobble or a new vibration
Park the scooter and check axle tightness, tyre damage, bearing play and alignment. A loose wheel or steering component is a stop-riding defect until repaired.
How to keep service costs predictable
- Photograph the scooter’s variant label, tyre sizes, brake layout and serial numbers before the first service.
- Use an authorized Komaki dealer for warranty-related diagnosis and request the job card.
- Separate routine inspection, consumables, electrical diagnosis and battery work on the estimate.
- Ask whether quoted prices include labor, taxes, pickup, delivery, fitting and disposal.
- Keep invoices and charging records; they establish maintenance history if a warranty issue develops.
- Do not postpone brake, tyre, steering or electrical warnings to save the cost of an inspection.
Choosing between X-One variants or ownership options
For a variant decision, compare the battery capacity and claimed range first, then verify braking and tyre hardware, charging time, warranty limits and access to an authorized service center where you live. A scooter with a larger battery may offer more claimed range but can also have a different replacement cost. Local parts availability and transport charges can matter as much as the displayed purchase price.
Recommended Free Tools
The practical ownership question is not just “How much is the service?” It is whether the dealer can diagnose the electronics, supply the correct variant-specific parts and provide a written total before work begins. That approach keeps a low-maintenance electric drivetrain from turning a preventable tyre, brake or charging issue into a larger repair.
