Koenigsegg reported four acceleration and braking records for its Jesko Absolut in a June 2024 run at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden. The headline 0–400–0 km/h time was 27.83 seconds. In August 2025, the company reported a faster 25.21-second run in that same category. “Your move, Bugatti” makes for a challenge-style headline, but the cited releases document no Bugatti response or directly comparable run.
Koenigsegg’s four reported records from 2024
Koenigsegg says factory test driver Markus Lundh accelerated a Jesko Absolut from a standstill to 412 km/h and brought it back to zero on June 27, 2024. The company reported the following times from that run:

All four are figures published by Koenigsegg for its 2024 run; the available evidence does not include confirmation from an independent record authority. The 0–400 km/h sprint ends at 400 km/h. The 0–400–0 km/h measure also includes braking back to a stop, so the two times describe different tests. Koenigsegg’s July 1, 2024 release says the car reached 412 km/h during the run.
How the 2024 run was configured
Koenigsegg describes the car as a fully homologated, standard production Jesko Absolut in as-delivered condition. The company says the only changes were a roll cage for driver safety and a One:1 driver seat selected by Lundh.

- Fuel and tires: E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires.
- Timing: Koenigsegg says Racelogic timing equipment recorded the data and Racelogic headquarters in the United Kingdom verified it.
Koenigsegg characterizes the Absolut as its straight-line-speed-focused model, citing a smaller frontal area, targeted venting, no active aerodynamic devices and a drag coefficient of 0.278. Those are the manufacturer’s design claims, not independent aerodynamic test results.
The 2025 update: a quicker 0–400–0 km/h
Koenigsegg reported a 25.21-second 0–400–0 km/h run on August 7, 2025, at Örebro, again with Lundh driving a Jesko Absolut. The company credited software refinements, including a new torque-control system, and called its software strategy “Absolut Overdrive.” Koenigsegg’s August 12, 2025 release reports this later result.

That 2025 figure updates the 0–400–0 km/h category. The sources available here do not establish whether the other three 2024 times remain current or have been surpassed; it would be inaccurate to say that all four were refreshed in 2025.

The challenge is rhetorical, not evidence of a head-to-head contest. Koenigsegg’s releases describe its own runs; they do not document a Bugatti response or supply a Bugatti result measured on the same basis. A meaningful comparison would need to match the distance and braking endpoint, vehicle classification and homologation status, date and conditions, vehicle setup, timing equipment and data verification.

The 2024 run also was not a top-speed record attempt. After describing the acceleration run, Koenigsegg founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg said: “This record run validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its ability to outright be the fastest, fully homologated production car in the world. Now it is all down to tire testing, development, and approval, before we finally can make an attempt at that record.” His statement describes a future top-speed attempt, not a top speed achieved in the 2024 run.
