The Koenigsegg CC850 pairs a clutch pedal and gated six-speed manual-style shifting experience with the company’s nine-speed Light Speed Transmission and an automatic mode. It is a modern tribute to the CC8S, with a twin-turbo V8 rated at up to 1,385 hp on E85. Koenigsegg says 70 cars will be made, but its reviewed official pages do not publish a current price or establish present availability.
What is the Koenigsegg CC850?
Koenigsegg revealed the CC850 at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in 2022. The company presents it as a contemporary homage to the CC8S and a dual tribute to 20 years of vehicle production and founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday. Its restrained retro cues and analog-style controls set it apart from the more overtly futuristic look of many modern hypercars, while its powertrain and structure remain contemporary Koenigsegg engineering. Koenigsegg’s CC850 page describes its design and features.
The original announcement covered 50 cars. On August 24, 2022, Koenigsegg announced 20 more, bringing the stated total to 70. Christian von Koenigsegg attributed the expansion to strong demand and said it would allow the company to consider brand loyalists while welcoming a small number of new owners. That is the founder’s characterization, not independent market data. The current total is also stated on the company’s history page.
Is the CC850 a manual?
It offers a manual-style driving experience, but its hardware is not a conventional standalone six-speed gearbox. Koenigsegg identifies the transmission as its nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), paired with the Engage Shifter System (ESS). In manual mode, the ESS provides a gated six-speed shift pattern and a clutch pedal; the car also has a fully automatic mode. It is best understood as one integrated, dual-mode transmission system rather than two separate gearboxes. Koenigsegg’s technical specifications list the LST and ESS.

- Brand new box
- Real rubber tires.
- Detailed interior, exterior.
- Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts.
- Manufacturer's original unopened packaging.
This is the CC850’s central idea: retain the involvement and familiar motions of a manual while connecting them to a modern transmission system. The manufacturer’s description establishes how the controls work; it does not establish independent driving impressions or comparative performance against other cars.

Koenigsegg highlights a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio by comparing the E85 rating of 1,385 hp with the stated 1,385 kg curb weight. That is the manufacturer’s framing based on the E85 figure; it should not be read as a gasoline-output ratio or as a measured performance result. The source for these figures is the company’s CC850 technical specifications.

How much does the Koenigsegg CC850 cost?
Koenigsegg’s reviewed model and technical-specification pages do not state a current price. Without a dated, geography-specific source, a figure cannot responsibly be presented as the CC850’s current cost. Any market valuation would also need to distinguish currency, taxes, asking price from completed transaction price, and the date of the listing or sale.

Production and availability
Koenigsegg says the production total is 70 cars. Its 2024 annual report says the Reodor production line began CC850 production at the end of 2024 and that first customer cars were expected in mid-2025. That mid-2025 timing is a forecast published in the 2024 report, not confirmation of deliveries. The report does not establish current delivery counts or whether an allocation is available now. Koenigsegg Automotive’s 2024 annual report is the source for the production timing.
What is established—and what is not
The manufacturer’s information gives a clear picture of the CC850’s design intent, transmission concept, listed specifications and planned production total. It does not provide independently measured acceleration, top speed, lap times, ownership costs, a current market price, or a current delivery count. Those figures should not be inferred from the power rating or from a historical production forecast.
