One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchThe Kiwano K01 (also written KO1) is a single-wheel, self-balancing electric rideable with a handlebar—not a conventional two-wheeled scooter. Its published speed, range and battery figures conflict, so there is no dependable single spec sheet to rely on. WalkSmart’s Australian product page labels the model discontinued, though it describes parts and repair services; owners should confirm current K01-specific availability before making plans.
What is the Kiwano K01?
Shark Group describes the KO1 as a one-wheel electric scooter developed as a Kiwano project. The rider controls it through body movement, while a handlebar provides support. The project description also lists suspension, an airless tire and a smartphone app for settings and remote control. These are manufacturer-side product descriptions, not results from an independent ride test. Shark Group’s Kiwano project page presents the product as an in-house design and engineering effort.
WalkSmart’s Australian listing describes the KO1 series as having a high-torque motor, water-resistant electronics, app control and mapping. Its listed package includes a KO1 and one Australian charger. Those details describe the retailer’s listing and should not be taken as proof of performance or compatibility for every unit. Kiwano K01 specifications: why published figures differ
Published figures vary too much to combine into one definitive K01 specification. Sources may be describing different versions, such as the K01 and K01+, or may use different conditions or contain errors; the available information does not resolve the discrepancy. No source here provides an independently controlled real-world range test.

For an individual used scooter, check the label and documentation on that exact unit rather than assuming one source’s figures apply. Treat advertised range and speed as claims, not guarantees of what a particular rider will achieve.
Is the Kiwano K01 still available?
WalkSmart’s Australian page labels its Kiwano listing “Discontinued.” That is evidence about the retailer’s listing, not proof that every used or remaining unit has disappeared. A ScooterC resale page describes a K01+ as “New In Box” at USD $995, but it is a single listing and includes historical price tracking through August 2023. It does not establish current stock, verified condition, return protection or an authoritative current price.
Before buying a used or listed unit, confirm the exact model/version, what is included, battery condition, charger compatibility, return terms and whether parts or repairs are available where you live. The cited listings do not establish a current, dependable market price.

App and connectivity
WalkSmart describes app control and mapping. A 2022 iReviews review describes an iOS and Android app with geotracking, remote operation, ride modes and battery information; New Atlas also covered app features in its 2017 launch report. These are product-page and historical descriptions, not confirmation that the app is currently available or compatible with today’s phones.
Current app-store availability, compatibility with current iOS or Android versions and operation of remote features have not been established. Before buying, ask the seller which app version and phone combination the specific scooter uses, then verify it yourself if possible. Do not rely on app-dependent functions until they work with that unit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Replacement parts and repair support
WalkSmart says it stocks replacement parts and offers repairs after warranty, with costs determined case by case. Its page describes workshops in Sydney and Canberra and courier collection arranged Australia-wide. These are Australia-specific service statements; the page does not identify live inventory for particular K01 parts or guarantee service reach for every owner.
Contact the shop before ordering or shipping a scooter. Provide the exact model/version, the part or fault, your location and any identifying information on the unit. Ask whether the part is in stock, whether it fits your version, what the repair or collection will cost, and whether a courier can serve your address.

WalkSmart describes a 12-month warranty for its products covering manufacturer faults, excluding courier or transport costs, and excluding damage caused by users or accidents. This is that retailer’s stated policy; it should not be assumed to apply to used units, purchases from other sellers, other countries or current offers.
Safety and accessories
WalkSmart lists a helmet, lock, phone mount, waterproof front bag, bell and bag hanger in its Ride-More accessories package. Its listed helmet is identified as AS/NZS 2063:2008, and the phone mount is listed for devices 55–95 mm wide. These are retailer-listed details, not proof that an accessory is currently in stock or compatible with every rider’s setup.
A properly fitted bicycle helmet certified for your location is the most defensible accessory choice in the available product information. Check local rules and the helmet’s fit and certification; do not assume that other listed accessories are required or universally compatible.
Quick Recap
What to check before buying or keeping one
- Identify the version: confirm whether the unit is called K01, KO1 or K01+, and compare its label and included charger with seller documentation.
- Inspect the battery and charger: published capacities conflict, and no cited source establishes the condition of an individual used battery.
- Verify the phone features: test the app with the exact scooter and a compatible phone before counting on mapping or remote operation.
- Confirm local support: ask a repairer about parts and service for your version and location before buying.
- Compare alternatives on evidence: use independently tested range, local speed rules, battery replacement support, weight, app availability, tire and suspension design, repair access and total ownership cost. Do not treat K01 marketing figures as measured results.
