Yes, the Kia EV3 is coming to the United States. Kia says the 2027 EV3 should reach showrooms nationwide in late 2026. Kia has also published US pricing, a maximum EPA-estimated range of 321 miles for specific front-wheel-drive trims, native NACS charging, and estimated 10–80% DC charging times. Those are manufacturer figures; a particular dealer’s inventory, selling price, incentives and delivery date still require a local check.
When will the Kia EV3 be available in the US?
Kia announced the US-market vehicle as the 2027 Kia EV3 and says nationwide showroom availability is expected in late 2026. That is a national rollout target, not a promise that every Kia retailer will have a car on a particular day. Inventory can arrive at different times by region, trim, drivetrain and color.

When you contact a retailer, ask for the vehicle identification number or stock number, the exact trim and drivetrain, the battery size, the window-sticker price and the estimated arrival date. A vehicle shown as incoming is not the same as one physically available for a test drive. Kia’s August 12, 2026 pricing announcement gives manufacturer suggested retail prices, while the retailer sets the actual transaction price.

How much does the 2027 Kia EV3 cost?
Kia’s published US prices are MSRPs before destination and handling. The company lists a $1,495 destination and handling charge in addition to each MSRP. Taxes, title, registration, options, documentation charges, dealer-installed accessories, financing and incentives can change the amount you actually pay.
| 2027 US configuration | Starting MSRP before destination | Battery and drivetrain information |
|---|---|---|
| Light FWD | $29,890 | 58.3-kWh battery; front-wheel drive |
| Wind FWD | $34,990 | 81.4-kWh battery; front-wheel drive |
| Wind AWD | $38,690 | 81.4-kWh battery; all-wheel drive |
| Land FWD | $38,490 | 81.4-kWh battery; front-wheel drive |
| Land AWD | $41,690 | 81.4-kWh battery; all-wheel drive |
| GT-Line AWD | $43,490 | 81.4-kWh battery; all-wheel drive |
| GT AWD | $45,890 | 81.4-kWh battery; all-wheel drive |
These are manufacturer-published starting figures, not out-the-door quotes. Kia explicitly says retailer prices may vary. Before signing, request an itemized buyer’s order showing MSRP, destination, accessories, dealer fees, taxes, registration and any incentive or financing condition.
What range does the Kia EV3 have?
Kia’s current US EV information lists up to 321 miles of EPA-estimated range for the 2027 EV3. Kia’s pricing announcement identifies the trims associated with that maximum as Wind FWD and Land FWD. The figure is an estimate under EPA test procedures, not a guarantee for every driver, route or season.
The two battery capacities are tied to the trim family:
- 58.3 kWh: Light FWD.
- 81.4 kWh: Wind, Land, GT-Line and GT configurations. Wind and Land offer either FWD or AWD; GT-Line and GT are AWD.
Earlier, Kia’s April 1, 2026 North American debut release referred to approximately 220 and 320 miles using preliminary Kia estimates and expressly said those numbers were not official EPA ratings. For a current US buying decision, use the later EPA-estimated listing and the trim attribution in the August pricing announcement rather than carrying the preliminary launch numbers into a comparison.

Actual range will vary with speed, temperature, terrain, payload, tire pressure, heating or air-conditioning use and battery age. No cited source establishes an independent winter-range test for the US EV3, so there is no defensible single winter-mileage adjustment to apply.
Does the US EV3 use NACS?
Yes. Kia says the US EV3 has a native NACS charge port. You do not need to treat it as a vehicle that requires a separate connector adapter for routine NACS charging.

How Plug and Charge works
Kia describes Plug and Charge through Kia Charge Pass in the Kia Access app. Setup requires a one-time login and enrollment. After activation, a compatible public charger can identify the vehicle and bill the enrolled account without the usual app or card steps. Confirm that the station supports the service and that your account is activated before relying on it for a trip.
Do earlier Kia adapter offers apply to the EV3?
No assumption should be made that they do. Kia’s separate NACS adapter offer is limited to specified 2024 and 2025 EV9 and 2024 EV6 buyers. The offer is not presented as an EV3 requirement or as an EV3 entitlement. Check Kia’s current eligibility terms if you own one of those earlier vehicles; do not use that program to plan EV3 charging.
How long does the EV3 take to charge?
DC fast charging
Kia estimates a 10–80 percent DC charge in 29 minutes for the Light battery and 31 minutes for the larger-battery trims. Kia conditions those estimates on a 350-kW DC charger and a battery temperature of about 72°F. Actual time can be longer or shorter depending on the charger’s delivered power, the vehicle’s state of charge, battery temperature, ambient conditions and station sharing.

The 10–80 percent window is a planning estimate, not a promise that every stop will take exactly half an hour. Charging generally slows as the battery approaches full, so drivers normally leave after reaching the energy needed for the next leg rather than waiting for 100 percent. Kia also recommends minimizing frequent DC fast charging because it says repeated use can negatively affect battery performance and durability.

What does home charging require?
Level 1 for light driving
Level 1 uses a household 120-volt outlet. Kia presents it as suitable for drivers with low daily mileage and a long overnight charging window. It is the simplest installation, but adding a large amount of energy takes substantially longer than Level 2. Have an electrician inspect the outlet and circuit if you plan regular charging, especially in an older home or when the outlet is shared with other loads.
Level 2 for regular mileage
Level 2 is the more practical home setup for many EV owners and higher-mileage drivers. Kia names the ChargePoint Home Flex with either NACS or J1772 connector options and says its Qmerit partnership can match customers with licensed electricians. Hardware and installation are optional, household-specific purchases; verify the charger’s current connector configuration, your panel capacity, required circuit, permits and local electrical pricing before ordering.
A dealer or installer should confirm where the EV3 will park, cable reach, indoor or outdoor mounting, Wi-Fi requirements if applicable, load-management needs and whether a service upgrade is necessary. Do not treat a generic charging-time or electricity-cost example on Kia’s EV pages as an EV3-specific ownership cost. Your result depends on usable battery energy, charging losses, local utility rates, time-of-use pricing and how much energy you add.

A simple home-charging decision
- Choose Level 1 when daily driving is modest, the car sits overnight for many hours and the existing circuit is suitable.
- Choose Level 2 when you regularly drive long distances, need a faster turnaround or want predictable overnight replenishment.
- Ask for a written installation quote separately from the vehicle price; electrical work is not included in the EV3 MSRP.
Does the EV3 have equipment for cold weather?
The 2027 EV3 includes a standard battery heater. Kia says an AWD heat pump and heated seats and steering wheel are available, with equipment depending on configuration. A heat pump can reduce the energy penalty of cabin heating in some conditions, while heated seats and a heated steering wheel can provide personal warmth with less cabin heating demand.
Kia’s cited material does not quantify winter range, cold-soak charging performance or the precise trim-by-trim availability of every climate feature. Confirm the equipment on the window sticker for the exact vehicle and treat winter planning as a condition-dependent exercise rather than applying an unverified percentage loss.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which EV3 trim and drivetrain make sense?
Light FWD
Light is the entry configuration and the only listed trim with the 58.3-kWh battery. Its lower MSRP may suit buyers whose priority is the lowest published entry price and whose driving pattern does not require the larger battery. Compare its charging stops and equipment with your normal commute before assuming the lowest price is the lowest ownership cost.
Wind FWD
Wind FWD combines the larger 81.4-kWh battery with the highest listed EPA-estimated range. It is the configuration to examine first if maximum rated range matters more than all-wheel drive. The additional price over Light should be weighed against your mileage, charging access and desired equipment.
Wind AWD and Land AWD
Wind and Land offer AWD as an option. AWD can be relevant for traction and driver preference, but Kia’s cited pricing material does not establish an exact EPA range for every AWD configuration. Compare the exact window sticker and official range label rather than inferring an AWD number from the FWD maximum.

- Multi functional and flexible to use, it can accommodate your glasses as well as other small items, suitable for most glasses and sunglasses.
Land FWD
Land FWD is the other trim Kia associates with the maximum EPA-estimated range. It may appeal to a buyer who wants the Land equipment level without AWD. Confirm standard and optional features at the retailer because equipment packaging can affect the final price.
GT-Line AWD and GT AWD
GT-Line and GT include AWD as standard and use the 81.4-kWh battery. Their higher MSRPs reflect their position at the top of the listed range. Choose them for the features and driving specification you can identify on the vehicle’s equipment sheet, not for an assumed range advantage that Kia has not stated.
How should you check availability and buy one?
- Define the configuration. Write down the trim, FWD or AWD, preferred colors and must-have climate or charging equipment.
- Search multiple local retailers. Ask whether each EV3 is on the ground, in transit or merely orderable. Request the stock number and estimated arrival date.
- Verify the window sticker. Confirm battery, drivetrain, EPA range listing, destination charge, options and installed accessories.
- Request an itemized quote. Separate MSRP and the $1,495 destination charge from taxes, registration, dealer fees, accessories, financing and incentives.
- Plan charging before delivery. Decide between an existing 120-volt outlet and a professionally installed Level 2 unit; verify electrical capacity and connector choice.
- Test the public-charge route. Check nearby NACS stations, Plug and Charge support, account setup and backup locations.
- Recheck timing and price. Late-2026 national availability does not eliminate regional delays or retailer-specific pricing changes.

The cited Kia announcements and US EV information do not establish the final US 2027 new-vehicle warranty, high-voltage battery warranty or roadside-assistance terms. Obtain the applicable warranty booklet or written dealer documentation before purchase rather than transferring figures from another Kia model or market.
