Charging is simplest at home on an installed 11 kW wallbox, while public DC charging can take roughly half an hour to an hour depending on the battery version, charger power and the state-of-charge range you choose. KGM publishes different figures for UK, MY26 and German vehicles, so check your country and model year before treating any number as universal.
Torres EVX charging at a glance
The charging door is on the front passenger-side wing of the UK-market vehicle. Behind it are two interfaces: the upper Type 2 socket for AC charging and the CCS arrangement for DC rapid charging. A Type 2 cable or tethered Type 2 lead is used for normal home and destination charging; a public rapid charger normally has its own CCS cable.

KGM’s published times are estimates, not independent test results. The manufacturer says charging time can change with ambient temperature, battery condition and charger specification. The battery capacity, model year, market, starting charge level and ending charge level also matter. The table below keeps each estimate attached to the specification from which it came.

- Use AC Type 2 charging for routine overnight or destination charging.
- Use CCS DC charging for long trips and short stops.
- Do not assume a 300 or 350 kW station will make the car charge continuously at that rate; the car controls the power it accepts.
- Verify the exact vehicle specification in the owner’s manual or on the charge-port label, especially for an imported vehicle.
Which Torres EVX specification do you have?
KGM’s current material describes more than one battery and charging specification. The UK model page describes a 73.4 kWh vehicle, while KGM’s MY26 technical sheet and KGM Germany’s model page describe an 80.6 kWh vehicle. Those differences help explain why apparently similar charging claims do not always match.

The figures are not directly interchangeable. They use different battery capacities, charge windows, charger ratings, markets and model references. A 10–80% estimate excludes the slowest part of filling the battery, while a 0–100% estimate includes it. Treat the table as a set of source-specific claims rather than one universal Torres EVX charging specification.
Connectors: Type 2 AC and CCS DC
Type 2 for AC charging
Type 2 is the AC inlet used for home wallboxes, public destination chargers and the vehicle’s onboard charger. AC electricity is converted to battery power by the car’s onboard charging hardware. The MY26 technical sheet lists a 10.5 kW onboard charger, so installing a substantially higher-rated AC supply does not automatically make the vehicle charge faster than its supported rate.
For everyday use, an 11 kW three-phase wallbox is the principal benchmark in KGM’s published figures. The vehicle, installation and local electrical supply all need to support that arrangement. A wallbox with a different rating may still work, but the car will only draw the power available within its own limits.
CCS for rapid DC charging
CCS is the DC rapid-charging connection. A rapid charger sends DC power to the battery, bypassing the car’s AC-to-DC conversion stage. Public CCS units are generally tethered, so you normally open the charge flap, connect the supplied cable, authenticate at the charger and start the session.
KGM’s material gives different DC limits by market and document. The German page lists a 120 kW vehicle maximum, while the UK and MY26 tables quote session estimates using 100, 300 or 350 kW chargers. A station’s advertised output is therefore not the same thing as the power the car will continuously accept.

Where to find the socket
On the UK-market vehicle, the charging door is in the front passenger-side wing. If you own an imported or non-European-market Torres EVX, confirm the inlet arrangement against the vehicle manual and the label beside the port before buying a cable or planning a trip. The Type 2/CCS configuration established here is the UK specification.
Home charging: the practical overnight option
Installed 11 kW wallbox
KGM UK recommends an installed home charge point and describes it as approximately three times faster than using a three-pin household plug. Its UK brochure gives about nine hours for a 0–100% charge at 11 kW on the 73.4 kWh vehicle. The MY26 sheet gives the same rounded time for an 80.6 kWh vehicle on 11 kW three-phase AC, while KGM Germany quotes about 10.3 hours for the 80.6 kWh vehicle on an 11 kW home wallbox.

Installation design, supply arrangement, battery temperature and the vehicle’s charging controls can all affect the session. Ask the installer to confirm that the proposed circuit, protection and connector arrangement meet local electrical rules and the car’s requirements.
Household-outlet or portable charging
KGM also describes a portable charger for use with an ordinary household outlet. The MY26 technical sheet identifies a 2 kW three-phase IC-CPD arrangement and estimates about 30 hours from 0–100%. That figure is tied to the stated IC-CPD and three-phase condition; a particular household outlet, plug type or supply may produce a different result.
Before buying a portable Type 2 EV charger, check the regional household connector, current limit, Type 2 compatibility, the IC-CPD specification and the exact Torres EVX market version. Do not assume that a lead supplied for one country can be used unchanged in another country’s socket or electrical installation.

Home installation partner
KGM UK names Indra as its charging partner for home installation. Availability, installation scope and current terms depend on your location, so confirm those details directly before committing to an installation. The partner reference does not establish a price or a universal service package.
Public rapid charging and what the times mean
Reading a 10–80% estimate
Most of KGM’s rapid figures cover a middle portion of the battery rather than an empty-to-full session. The MY26 sheet, for example, gives separate estimates for 10–80% on 100 kW and 300 kW chargers. The UK brochure gives a 20–80% estimate at 100 kW and a 10–80% estimate when the station is rated at 350 kW. Because the starting and ending percentages differ, those numbers should not be compared as if they describe identical energy delivered.
Why a higher-rated station may not save much time
The car negotiates charging power with the station and can reduce power as the battery fills. A 300 or 350 kW charger is the capability of the site, not a promise that the Torres EVX will draw that figure throughout the session. The MY26 and German specifications also show that the vehicle’s stated maximum and the charger’s nameplate are separate facts.
If a session is slower than the headline estimate, compare the actual conditions with the published test description: battery percentage at connection, target percentage, charger rating, battery temperature, battery condition and whether the station is sharing power with another vehicle. KGM explicitly identifies temperature, battery condition and charger specification as variables.
Plan a stop around the charge window
For a journey, choose a CCS stop based on the energy you need to continue, not on an assumption that every visit should end at 100%. The manufacturer’s rapid estimates use partial charge windows, and the final portion of a battery generally takes longer than the middle portion. Leave enough margin for weather, traffic, detours and a busy or unavailable charger rather than planning around the shortest published estimate.

How to charge a Torres EVX
At an AC wallbox
- Park so the front passenger-side charging door is accessible and the cable can reach without strain.
- Unlock and open the charge door, then inspect the Type 2 inlet and the cable for dirt, moisture or visible damage.
- Connect the Type 2 lead to the vehicle and wallbox. If the wallbox requires authorization, start the session with its card, app or screen.
- Check the vehicle display for charging status, charging speed, estimated time and range. The session may be limited by the car, the wallbox or the electrical supply.
- When finished, stop the session using the wallbox or vehicle controls, unlock the connector and remove it without forcing the latch.
At a public CCS rapid charger
- Confirm that the charger has a CCS connector and that its cable can reach the Torres EVX charge port.
- Position the vehicle, open the charging door and check the connector before plugging in.
- Insert the CCS plug fully, authenticate as required by the operator and start the session.
- Verify that the vehicle and charger agree on the session. Note the starting state of charge and the power shown on the charger display.
- Stop the session through the charger or vehicle interface, wait for the connector to unlock and return the cable to its holder.
With a portable household-outlet unit
- Confirm that the portable unit is approved for your regional household outlet and that its current setting is suitable for the circuit.
- Place the IC-CPD control box where it will remain dry and protected, following the unit’s instructions.
- Connect the household plug and Type 2 vehicle connector in the order specified by the charger manufacturer.
- Check the Torres EVX display for charging speed and estimated time. A household-outlet session is substantially slower than an 11 kW wallbox under KGM’s published conditions.
- End the session using the charger’s controls before disconnecting either end.
Charging controls, schedules and the in-car display
KGM says the vehicle’s charging display shows charging time, charging speed and range. Use those values to check whether the car is receiving the power you expect instead of relying only on the charger’s advertised rating.
The AVN/menu controls allow you to schedule charging start and end times and select charging days. This can be useful if your electricity tariff has cheaper periods. Set the schedule in the vehicle after confirming the wallbox or energy provider does not have a separate schedule that could prevent the session from starting.
A scheduled session can appear to be a fault if the car is plugged in but not drawing power immediately. Check the selected days, start time, end time and any wallbox schedule before disconnecting the cable or reporting a hardware problem.

KGM’s brochure states: “Charging times are based on ambient temperature, but charge time may vary according to temperature, battery condition and charger specification.” This qualification applies to the manufacturer’s estimates in the table, not just to one particular charger.
- Temperature: very cold or hot conditions can change the power the battery accepts and alter the total session time.
- Battery condition: the battery’s state and condition can affect how closely a session resembles a published estimate.
- State-of-charge window: charging from a low percentage to the middle of the pack is not equivalent to charging all the way to 100%.
- Charger specification: a station may be rated at 100, 300 or 350 kW, but the vehicle and the live charger conditions determine the power delivered.
- Electrical supply: a home wallbox, three-phase installation and household outlet provide different available power.
If the car will not start charging
- Check that the connector is fully inserted and latched at the vehicle and charger.
- Confirm that the wallbox or public unit has authorized the session and is not waiting for a scheduled start.
- Look for a visible charger fault message and follow the charger operator’s reset or support instructions.
- Try stopping and restarting the session once, without repeatedly forcing the connector.
- If the problem follows the vehicle across more than one known-working charger, record the message, charger type, battery percentage and conditions and contact KGM or the charger operator as appropriate.
If the charging speed is lower than expected
Record the charger’s rated power, the power shown during the session, the vehicle’s starting and ending percentages and the ambient conditions. Those details distinguish a normal reduction caused by the charge window or temperature from a charger-side or vehicle-side problem. A lower reading alone does not prove that the vehicle or charger is defective.

V2L is not a charging connector
KGM Germany describes a vehicle-to-load (V2L) interface that can supply external equipment through an adapter, with a maximum appliance draw of 3,500 W. V2L sends energy out of the vehicle to an appliance; it does not charge the traction battery through the Type 2 or CCS inlet.
The adapter and household socket format are market-dependent. Confirm that the V2L equipment supplied for your vehicle is approved for your country and that the appliance load stays within the stated limit. Do not confuse a V2L adapter with a Type 2 charging cable or a CCS rapid-charging lead.
Choosing the right charging setup

The best setup is usually an installed AC point for routine charging plus access to CCS rapid chargers for journeys. A portable unit is a useful contingency or low-use option, but its slow rate and household-supply limitations make it less convenient for daily high-mileage driving.

The charging figures in this guide are manufacturer-published specifications and estimates from KGM UK, KGM’s MY26 technical sheet and KGM Germany. The UK current model page also lists a 73.4 kWh battery and a 287-mile WLTP range; those are manufacturer figures rather than independently measured results. No independent statistical study or real-world charge test is established by the cited material.
Before relying on a quoted time, identify the country, model year, battery capacity, charger type, charger rating and start/end state of charge. Then check the vehicle-specific manual and current KGM information, because equipment and specifications can change between markets and model years.
