Kawasaki announced a Knight Rider-like motorcycle concept in 2016, then described a rider-support proof of concept in 2020. The idea involved speech, cloud-connected information and adapting to an individual rider—but the available announcements do not establish a production model or a motorcycle currently for sale.
Did Kawasaki really build a talking motorcycle?
Kawasaki announced that it was developing motorcycles with artificial intelligence, natural-language dialogue and an individual personality in 2016. The company’s concept was intended to let a rider communicate with the motorcycle, not to create a retail model named after the fictional KITT from Knight Rider. Kawasaki said, “Enabling rider and motorcycle to communicate and share an understanding of purpose will open the door to a new world of unprecedented riding experiences.” Kawasaki’s 2016 announcement
The comparison to KITT captures the conversational ambition, but it can make the project sound more finished than Kawasaki’s announcement supports. The company described development plans, not a completed, publicly available motorcycle that could hold unrestricted conversation.
How was the AI concept supposed to work?
Kawasaki named the technology the “Emotion Generation Engine and Natural Language Dialogue System,” developed with cocoro SB Corp. The proposed system would interpret spoken words to infer a rider’s intent and recognize emotion from the rider’s voice. Kawasaki also envisaged combining motorcycle chassis and running data with information from the internet, so it could offer relevant hints or safety advice. Over time, the system might adjust machine settings to reflect a rider’s experience, skill and riding style. Kawasaki’s 2016 announcement

That is a concept for communication and personalization, not evidence that the motorcycle could reliably read a rider’s emotions or make independent decisions on the road. The announcement describes intended capabilities; it does not establish how accurately they worked in production conditions.
What did Kawasaki demonstrate in 2020?
In November 2020, Kawasaki reported a Rider Support System proof of concept using a cloud service and a smartphone as an intermediary for two-way communication. The company said internal verification had reached a final stage and that public-road verification tests were being conducted in Japan. It also said the system could be compatible with a number of Kawasaki motorcycles then on sale. Kawasaki’s 2020 proof-of-concept announcement

Kawasaki cautioned that riders should use the app only when the vehicle was not being operated and it was safe to do so. The announcement does not establish that every proposed function was available on a production motorcycle.
Is Kawasaki’s AI motorcycle for sale?
The announcements establish development activity and a proof of concept, but do not identify a production model, commercial name, price, release date, geographic launch or consumer purchase channel for the personality-forming AI motorcycle. “New AI motorcycle” should therefore be understood as a development concept, not as evidence of a bike currently sold to the public.

Likewise, the 2020 statement that the system could be compatible with a number of Kawasaki motorcycles then on sale is not a confirmation that a particular model received the feature or that it remains available today.
Is Kawasaki RIDEOLOGY Meets AI the same project?
The announcements described here concern the 2016 AI communication concept and the 2020 Rider Support System proof of concept. The cited Kawasaki material does not establish that a product called “RIDEOLOGY Meets AI” is the production version of either project. Without a Kawasaki announcement tying that name to the concept, the name alone is not proof of a retail AI motorcycle.

Don’t confuse the AI concept with Kawasaki’s other future-mobility projects
Hydrogen motorcycle
On July 20, 2024, Kawasaki Motors reported a public demonstration of a hydrogen internal-combustion motorcycle prototype. It used a hydrogen-adapted version of the 998 cm³ inline-four supercharged engine from the Ninja H2. Kawasaki described its aim as realizing a functioning hydrogen ICE motorcycle in the early 2030s. Its “world’s first” description was specifically Kawasaki’s claim about a public demonstration by a mass-production motorcycle manufacturer—not a claim that this was the AI concept. CORLEO
Kawasaki unveiled CORLEO, a four-legged off-road personal-mobility concept, at Expo 2025. The concept draws on motorcycle-derived maneuverability and stability ideas, uses body-weight control, and has a hydrogen engine to generate electricity. A December 2025 Kawasaki release said development targeted commercialization in 2035 and reported approximately 1.2 billion social-media impressions for the concept. Neither announcement identifies CORLEO as the Knight Rider-inspired AI motorcycle. Kawasaki’s CORLEO announcement

What would confirm a real production version?
A future announcement would need to connect the technology to an actual model or accessory and clarify what riders can use. Useful details would include the communication and safety functions, how much the system adapts to its rider, whether a phone or cloud connection is required, compatible motorcycles, data handling, availability by region, price and whether it is standard or optional equipment.
