Kawasaki announced the Z1100 and Z1100 SE on 25 September 2025 as 2026 models—not 2025 model-year motorcycles. Both are large-displacement Z supernakeds built around a 1,099 cm³ naturally aspirated inline-four; the SE adds Brembo brakes and an Öhlins rear shock. Prices and availability depend on market.
What’s new on the 2026 Kawasaki Z1100?
Kawasaki’s UK launch material describes a liquid-cooled 1,099 cm³ inline-four producing 100.0 kW (136 PS) and 11.5 kg·m of maximum torque. Those are manufacturer-quoted UK-market figures; output specifications can differ by market and measurement convention. Kawasaki says the engine has revised intake ports, camshaft profiles, valve springs, pistons and gearing. Fifth and sixth gears are longer than on the preceding litre-class Z models, and the stroke is 3 mm longer than on the previous Z1000, with increased flywheel mass. The bikes retain the Z family’s aggressive styling, with LED headlights and a reshaped under-cowl. Kawasaki also revised the handlebar position: its UK material says the bars are 22 mm wider and 13 mm farther forward. That describes the dimensions, not independently verified changes in comfort or handling.
How do the Z1100 and Z1100 SE differ?
The core platform and electronic equipment are shared. The clearest trim distinction is the SE’s upgraded braking and rear-suspension hardware.

Chassis, electronics and rider aids
Both versions use an aluminium twin-tube frame, Showa SFF-BP forks and horizontal back-link rear suspension. Their electronic package includes a six-axis IMU and Kawasaki rider-assistance systems:

Kawasaki says riders can select modes using the left-handlebar controls. The official U.S. press material also describes a handlebar-mounted USB-C outlet on the SE. Display, phone connection and navigation
A 5-inch TFT instrument display and smartphone connectivity are part of the new package. Connected functions depend on market and licensing. Kawasaki Japan’s FAQ says Rideology app voice commands and navigation require paid licenses there; a new-bike purchaser in Japan receives one year free through a delivery QR code, after which continued use requires purchase. United Kingdom
Kawasaki UK listed the Z1100 at £11,099 and the Z1100 SE at £12,699, with dealer availability from January in its 25 September 2025 launch announcement. Check with a local dealer for current stock, order status and final on-the-road pricing.
United States
Kawasaki’s U.S. model listing gives the 2026 Z1100 SE ABS a base MSRP of $14,999. The reviewed U.S. material does not establish a corresponding price for the standard Z1100, so ask a dealer about local model availability and pricing.

Japan
Kawasaki Japan’s 26 September 2025 notice described the bikes as newly announced overseas models and said domestic introduction was being prepared, with Japanese launch timing, price and specifications to follow. That notice records the position at the time; it should not be read as a current availability update. Consult Kawasaki Japan’s FAQ and local dealers for market-specific information. It was announced in September 2025 as a 2026 model. Kawasaki UK’s launch page is dated 25 September 2025 and labels the bikes “for 2026”; Kawasaki Japan’s notice followed on 26 September. The announcement year and model year are different, so “2025 Z1100” can be misleading if it suggests a 2025 model-year version.
