The Wagoneer S is Jeep’s first global battery-electric vehicle. The headline figures of 600 horsepower and more than 300 miles of range come from Jeep’s 2024 U.S. Launch Edition announcement—not every Wagoneer S trim, and not a promise of real-world range. For 2025, Jeep lists a 500-hp Limited and a 600-hp Launch Edition; its current model page displays up to 294 miles for the Launch Edition.
What “Jeep’s first EV” means
In its May 30, 2024 announcement, Stellantis called the Wagoneer S the Jeep brand’s first global battery-electric vehicle (BEV), initially targeting the United States and Canada. Jeep’s use of “first” is about the brand’s first global BEV, not its first electrified vehicle of any kind. The company described the SUV as built on its BEV-native STLA Large platform, with standard electric four-wheel drive, front and rear electric drive modules, and a front-wheel disconnect intended to reduce energy draw while cruising. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent findings about efficiency or capability. Stellantis’ launch announcement
Jeep brand CEO Antonio Filosa called the introduction “a new chapter in the storied history of the Jeep brand.”
2025 Wagoneer S trims: power and equipment
Jeep’s 2025 FAQ distinguishes two trims. The 600-hp figure belongs to the Launch Edition; the Limited is rated at 500 hp. Acceleration figures are also configuration-specific: Jeep gives the Launch Edition an available 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds and says the Limited can reach 60 mph in a maximum of four seconds. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent test results. Jeep’s 2025 Wagoneer S FAQ

| 2025 trim | Power and acceleration | Front-seat equipment | Range information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Limited | 500 hp; 0–60 mph in a maximum of 4 seconds, per Jeep | 10-way adjustable power front seats | Jeep’s cited FAQ does not give a separate Limited range figure |
| Launch Edition | Up to 600 hp; available 0–60 mph in 3.4 seconds, per Jeep | 16-way adjustable power seats with massage and memory; Jeep also describes heated and ventilated front seats and rear-seat ventilation | Jeep’s model page displays up to 294 miles; see range qualifications below |
Jeep’s FAQ also lists 45 inches of display area and an available 19-speaker McIntosh audio system. Equipment can vary by trim and configuration, so check the vehicle’s exact build rather than assuming every listed feature is standard.
How far does the Wagoneer S go on a charge?
The answer depends on which Jeep figure you mean. The 2024 launch announcement claimed more than 300 miles on a charge for the U.S. Launch Edition, using the U.S. cycle. Jeep’s 2025 FAQ says the SUV has over 294 miles of range, while the current model page displays up to 294 miles for Launch Edition models and qualifies the figure as a manufacturer estimate subject to conditions. Those figures should not be combined into a guaranteed distance for every trim or driving situation. The launch claim and current display come from different model-year materials and are estimates, not a result from an independent road test. The official Jeep material cited here does not provide an independently measured range test.
How long does charging take?
Charging time depends on the charger and the battery’s starting and ending charge levels. Jeep publishes several different estimates; the percentages matter when comparing them.

| Charging setup | Jeep’s stated time or offer | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | About 52 hours | Jeep FAQ estimate; the cited figure does not specify a state-of-charge window |
| 240-volt Level 2 Home Package | About 6.8 hours | Jeep FAQ estimate for a full charge; professional installation through Qmerit partners is an additional fee |
| DC fast charging | 28 minutes | Jeep FAQ estimate for 5–80% with a Level 3 (400+ volt) DC fast charger |
| DC fast charging | 23 minutes | Jeep model-page estimate for 20–80%; Jeep labels it a preproduction estimate |
The 28-minute and 23-minute claims cover different charge windows, so they are not a direct like-for-like comparison. Jeep’s 2024 launch announcement also described a 400-volt, 100-kWh battery pack and a 20–80% charge in 23 minutes with a DC fast charger. Charging performance in practice depends on the equipment and conditions; the manufacturer figures are estimates.
Home charging packages
Jeep’s FAQ describes a Home Package with a 240-volt Level 2 station. It names Qmerit partners for professional installation at an additional fee; installation should not be assumed to be included. The Go Package offers $600 in public-charging credits at ports in the United States and Canada, according to Jeep. Package terms can differ by model year and may change. The 2024 announcement described Launch Edition buyers as having a choice of a 48-amp Level 2 home charger or charging credits of equal value, which is historical launch information rather than a guarantee of current package terms.

Jeep’s FAQ lists five seats, 30.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, up to 61 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, and a 3-cubic-foot front trunk. These are manufacturer-published capacity figures. The launch announcement described standard electric four-wheel drive and Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow and Sand Selec-Terrain modes. Those features alone do not establish off-road performance.

Jeep also said the SUV has a 0.29 coefficient of drag, which it described as the lowest for a Jeep vehicle and about 15% better than the average SUV, and claimed a 35% improvement in body torsional stiffness over previous midsize-segment Jeep SUVs. These are company comparisons, not independent measurements.
Price and what to verify before buying
Jeep’s model page displays a $65,200 starting MSRP, while its FAQ says price depends on model year and trim. Treat the displayed amount as a starting figure, not a quote for a specific vehicle or a statement of local taxes, fees, incentives or availability. The $71,995 including destination in the 2024 launch announcement was a historical Launch Edition starting price, not the current price.
- Confirm the model year, trim and equipment on the specific vehicle; power, seat features and package terms differ.
- Check the current price and range estimate on Jeep’s listing for the configuration and market you are considering.
- For home charging, verify your electrical service and installation needs; Jeep says Qmerit installation carries an additional fee.
- Use charging-time claims only with their charger type and state-of-charge window attached.
The official material cited here does not establish independently tested range or acceleration. No owner anecdotes or independent test results are used to fill that gap.
