Jeep claimed 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds, an 11.6-second quarter-mile at 116 mph, and a 180-mph top speed. Independent testing recorded between 3.3 and 3.5 seconds to 60 mph and quarter-mile times from 11.7 to 12.0 seconds.
There is no current Trackhawk in Jeep’s U.S. lineup as of August 10, 2026, so every genuine example is a used WK2-generation Grand Cherokee. Original prices started at $85,900 before destination for 2018, while current used values range broadly from the mid-$40,000s for compromised or high-mileage vehicles to more than $80,000 for clean, low-mileage examples.

What is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk?
The Trackhawk is the extreme street-performance version of the two-row, WK2-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. It combines a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an on-demand Quadra-Trac four-wheel-drive system.
Its 707 horsepower made it one of the quickest factory SUVs available when it launched for 2018. The Trackhawk was designed primarily for brutal straight-line acceleration, while still offering five seats, useful cargo space and a maximum tow rating of 7,200 pounds when properly equipped.

The model should not be confused with the off-road-focused Grand Cherokee Trailhawk or the naturally aspirated Grand Cherokee SRT. Those are separate trims with different engines, drivetrains and priorities. Jeep’s 2021 Grand Cherokee fact sheet listed Trackhawk, SRT and Trailhawk as distinct models.
CLASSIC.COM identifies the Trackhawk’s factory production range as 2018–2021. A listing advertised as a 2022, 2023 or 2026 Trackhawk should therefore be investigated carefully: it may be a mislabeled 2021 vehicle, a modified Grand Cherokee, or a confusion with another Jeep or Dodge performance model.

How fast is the Trackhawk in real testing?
0–60 mph: official claim versus tests
Jeep’s claim is 3.5 seconds. That is the number to use when quoting the factory specification. It is not, however, the only credible result.
- MotorTrend recorded 3.3 seconds to 60 mph.
- Car and Driver recorded 3.5 seconds to 60 mph.
A 3.3-second result does not mean every stock Trackhawk will reproduce that time. Launch Control, tire condition, fuel load, temperature, surface preparation, test equipment and the use of a rollout can each affect the result. The fairest summary is that a healthy, stock Trackhawk is a roughly 3.3-to-3.5-second SUV in controlled testing.
Quarter-mile performance
Jeep claimed 11.6 seconds at 116 mph. Independent results were close but not identical:
- MotorTrend: 11.7 seconds at 116.2 mph.
- Car and Driver: 12.0 seconds at 115 mph.
Car and Driver specifically noted that its test did not match Jeep’s 11.6-second claim, while MotorTrend came within one-tenth of a second. That difference is normal for high-performance testing and is not evidence that one source must be wrong. Track surface, weather, launch procedure, tires and vehicle equipment all matter.
Top speed and braking
The advertised 180-mph top speed is a manufacturer claim, not a typical owner result or a universally independently verified figure. Car and Driver described it as drag-limited and attributed it to the manufacturer.
Stopping performance is equally notable for an SUV this heavy. Jeep claimed 60–0 mph in 114 feet, while MotorTrend recorded 108 feet. Car and Driver measured 168 feet from 70–0 mph. Those figures are not directly interchangeable because they use different starting speeds and test conditions.
Why the Trackhawk is more than a 707-hp engine swap
The Trackhawk’s engine is a supercharged, intercooled 6.2-liter HEMI V8 related to the Hellcat family. Its 2.4-liter IHI supercharger produces substantial boost, and the powertrain required supporting changes beyond the engine itself.
According to Car and Driver, Jeep reinforced or upgraded the transmission, transfer case, rear driveshaft, half-shafts, CV joints and differential for the Trackhawk’s output. The 8HP95 automatic was reported as being rated to handle up to 811 lb-ft. That hardware helps explain why the Trackhawk can repeatedly put its power down through four driven wheels instead of behaving like a rear-drive muscle car.
The factory drivetrain is best described as on-demand four-wheel drive. Jeep’s Quadra-Trac system includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential and a single-speed active transfer case. It is performance-oriented four-wheel drive, not the low-speed, trail-focused system associated with the Trailhawk.

Launch Control coordinates the engine, transmission, driveline and suspension for maximum acceleration. Jeep also described Torque Reserve, which helps build boost before launch and improves initial response. These systems are central to the Trackhawk’s acceleration figures, but repeated hard launches still place substantial stress on tires, axles, differential, transmission and transfer case.
What did a new Trackhawk cost?
Trackhawk pricing is often reported inconsistently because sources mix base MSRP, destination charges, options and later database adjustments. The clearest comparison is to show the base price and destination separately.
| Model year | Base MSRP | Destination charge | Starting price including destination |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | $85,900 | $1,095 | $86,995 |
| 2019 | Approximately $86,900 | Typically about $1,495 | Approximately $88,395 |
| 2020 | $86,900 | $1,495 | $88,395 using the contemporaneous order guide |
| 2021 | $87,670 | $1,495 | $89,165 using the contemporaneous order guide |
The 2018 figure comes directly from Jeep’s launch pricing announcement, which stated that the $85,900 MSRP excluded a $1,095 destination charge. The 2020 order guide lists $86,900 plus $1,495 destination. The 2021 contemporaneous order-guide material lists $87,670 plus $1,495 destination.
Later databases show different 2021 totals. Car and Driver lists $91,665, while Cars.com lists $90,070. Kelley Blue Book and contemporaneous reporting from KBB and Autoblog support the $87,670-before-destination figure. These differences can reflect destination, equipment, pricing revisions or database methodology. When comparing a listing with the figures above, first determine whether it includes destination and which options are included.
How much did a fully equipped Trackhawk cost?
Options could push the Trackhawk above $100,000. MotorTrend tested a 2018 example with a listed price of $100,960; another MotorTrend first-drive vehicle stickered at $99,965. Equipment included combinations of upgraded leather, premium audio, a panoramic roof, rear entertainment, tow equipment, forged wheels and performance tires.
Those numbers are important for context: the Trackhawk was expensive even when new, but a used vehicle’s value is driven more by mileage, condition, title history, modifications, service documentation and equipment than by its original window sticker alone.

As of August 10, 2026, there is no single reliable used price. Trackhawks can have very different histories despite sharing the same model designation. A vehicle with low mileage, a clean title and factory calibration can command a substantial premium over a high-mileage, modified or accident-damaged example.
- CLASSIC.COM’s Trackhawk market page lists a market benchmark of $85,393, an average recorded sale price of $90,004 and 40 examples for sale in its tracked market.
- CLASSIC.COM also records a low sale of $44,250 in April 2026, illustrating how mileage, condition, title status and history can change the result dramatically.
- Kelley Blue Book’s accessible 2021 Trackhawk page lists a current resale value of $65,800 and trade-in value of $66,200. Those are valuation estimates, not guaranteed transaction prices.
A practical buying expectation is roughly the mid-$40,000s for higher-mileage or compromised examples to the $80,000-plus range for clean, low-mileage vehicles, with exceptionally preserved or collector-grade examples potentially higher. Treat that as a dated market snapshot, not a permanent price guide. Completed-sale data, dealer asking prices, private-party listings, trade-in estimates and auction results are different measures.
2018 vs. 2019 vs. 2020 vs. 2021
The Trackhawk changed very little mechanically during its four-year run. Every model year used the same basic 707-hp supercharged V8, 645 lb-ft of torque, 8HP95 automatic transmission and on-demand four-wheel-drive system. The headline factory performance claims also remained essentially the same.
2018
The 2018 Trackhawk was the first model year. It launched with an $85,900 base MSRP before destination, a claimed 3.5-second 0–60 time and an 11.6-second quarter-mile at 116 mph. Early-build examples require special recall attention because certain vehicles were included in a fuel-supply jumper-tube recall.

2019
The 2019 model retained the same powertrain and performance formula. Car and Driver listed a destination-inclusive MSRP of approximately $88,395. There was no meaningful change to the Trackhawk’s core acceleration hardware.
2020
The 2020 Trackhawk was largely unchanged mechanically. Car and Driver noted a yellow Trackhawk liftgate badge, a standard single-pane sunroof and additional wheel, interior and lighting options. The contemporaneous order guide listed $86,900 before destination.
2021
The 2021 Trackhawk was the final model year in the documented 2018–2021 production range. It entered the year without meaningful mechanical changes. The order-guide figure was $87,670 before destination, or $89,165 including the $1,495 charge. The new 710-hp Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat also became a corporate competitor, but it was not a new Trackhawk generation.
Because the mechanical differences between years are small, a well-maintained 2018 can be a better purchase than a neglected 2021. Condition, service history, factory originality and recall completion should matter more than simply choosing the newest badge.

Trackhawk vs. Trailhawk vs. SRT
| Model | Primary purpose | Powertrain distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Trackhawk | Extreme street and straight-line performance | 707-hp 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8; on-demand four-wheel drive |
| Trailhawk | Off-road capability | Not a 707-hp Hellcat SUV; equipment and calibration prioritize trail use |
| SRT | Performance road SUV below the Trackhawk | 2021 model used a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 making 475 hp |
The similar names create frequent listing errors. Yellow Brembo calipers, quad exhaust outlets and Trackhawk badges are useful visual clues, but they do not prove authenticity because exterior parts can be added to another Grand Cherokee. The engine, VIN/build information and underlying drivetrain must be verified.
Used-buying checklist: what to inspect
1. Verify that it is a genuine Trackhawk
Before discussing price, confirm that the vehicle is factory-built as a Trackhawk. Look for:
- The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and 707-hp factory rating.
- Trackhawk-specific VIN and build information verified through a Jeep or Dodge performance specialist.
- Yellow Brembo calipers.
- Quad exhaust outlets.
- Trackhawk exterior badging and interior identifiers.
- The 8HP95 automatic transmission and the correct performance four-wheel-drive hardware.
Do not buy solely on badges, a hood, wheels or an aftermarket body kit. A regular Grand Cherokee, SRT or Trailhawk can be made to look like a Trackhawk.
2. Check modifications and launch history
Ask whether the vehicle has ever been tuned or modified. Inspect for pulley changes, aftermarket tuning, intake or exhaust modifications, drag-racing tires and non-factory wiring. Request the original calibration or documentation showing what has been changed.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Have a specialist scan the vehicle for stored and cleared diagnostic codes and inspect the belt, supercharger, cooling system, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, half-shafts and differential. Uneven tire wear, damaged wheels and driveline noises can indicate hard use. Launch Control is a factory feature, but repeated launches still increase wear; a seller’s claim that a car is stock should be verified rather than assumed.
3. Check the 2018 fuel-system recall
Certain early-build 2018 Trackhawks were covered by NHTSA recall 18V-048, FCA Safety Recall U02. The affected production period was October 11, 2017 through December 11, 2017, and the NHTSA filing identified approximately 1,242 potentially involved vehicles.
The recalled fuel-supply jumper tube could separate, potentially causing an engine stall or an engine-compartment fire. This does not mean every 2018 Trackhawk is affected, and model year alone is not enough to determine recall status. Check the exact VIN through the NHTSA recall lookup and confirm that any required repair was completed. The NHTSA recall report and dealer instructions provide the technical recall details.
4. Inspect consumables and maintenance records
The Trackhawk’s 295-section performance tires, large Brembo brakes, supercharged engine and high-capacity drivetrain are expensive components compared with those on an ordinary Grand Cherokee. Examine tire age, tread depth, inner-edge wear, wheel damage, rotor condition and caliper condition. Ask for invoices showing oil changes and service to the cooling, transmission and driveline systems.

A vehicle used repeatedly for drag launches may have more drivetrain stress than a higher-mileage example used primarily for highway travel. Conversely, a high-mileage Trackhawk with complete records and no modifications may be a more rational purchase than a low-mileage car with a rebuilt title and no documentation.
5. Verify title and history
Obtain a vehicle-history report and check for accidents, theft recovery, flood damage, mileage inconsistencies, salvage or rebuilt titles. Arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection by a shop familiar with Jeep, Dodge and Hellcat-family powertrains. Confirm remaining warranty coverage, if any, directly from the manufacturer or selling dealer rather than relying on an advertisement.

The EPA rating is 11 mpg city, 17 mpg highway and 13 mpg combined. Car and Driver matched the 17-mpg highway estimate in its 200-mile test, but the Trackhawk remains exceptionally thirsty by ordinary SUV standards.
Its appeal is the unusual combination of supercar-like acceleration and practical packaging. It seats five, provides about 36 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and can tow up to 7,200 pounds with the appropriate equipment. It is also comfortable enough to serve as a daily driver for someone willing to pay for premium fuel and performance consumables.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe compromises are substantial:
- Fuel economy is far below that of normal Grand Cherokee trims.
- Large tires and brakes cost more to replace than ordinary SUV components.
- The supercharged V8, cooling system and reinforced driveline require specialized inspection and maintenance.
- The ride, tire noise and performance calibration may be less relaxed than a conventional Grand Cherokee.
- Its main performance advantage is straight-line acceleration. It is a heavy SUV, not a lightweight sports car.
Car and Driver’s assessment is the useful distinction: the Trackhawk can outrun many performance vehicles in a straight line, but it is not as composed or agile on a circuit as the best high-performance SUVs. Its character is closer to a muscle car with five seats and a high driving position than to a road-course specialist.
Is a used Trackhawk worth buying?
It is a good fit for a buyer who specifically wants extraordinary acceleration, a distinctive supercharged V8 experience, five-seat practicality, four driven wheels and meaningful towing capacity. Few vehicles combine those attributes in one package.

It is a poor fit for someone prioritizing low fuel costs, inexpensive maintenance, a soft and quiet ride, serious low-speed trail work or sports-car handling. A Trailhawk is the more appropriate Grand Cherokee for off-road priorities; a regular Grand Cherokee is the more sensible choice for low operating costs.
The best used Trackhawk is not necessarily the newest or the cheapest. It is a factory-original or properly documented example with a clean title, completed recalls, strong service records, healthy tires and brakes, and a specialist inspection that finds no evidence of abusive launches or poorly executed modifications.

Does Jeep make a current or 2026 Trackhawk?
No current Trackhawk appears in Jeep’s U.S. lineup as of August 10, 2026. Jeep’s current vehicle list includes the Grand Cherokee but not a Trackhawk, and current Grand Cherokee information emphasizes newer turbocharged and electrified powertrains rather than the discontinued supercharged V8. The documented factory Trackhawk years remain 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
That does not establish that Jeep can never revive the name. It does mean that a genuine factory 2026 Trackhawk is not part of the documented current lineup, and buyers should treat any such advertisement as a verification issue.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk still made?
No. The WK2 Trackhawk was produced for the 2018 through 2021 model years. As of August 10, 2026, Jeep’s current U.S. lineup does not list a Trackhawk, so shoppers are limited to used examples.
What is the fastest Trackhawk model year?
No model year has a clearly established factory advantage. All four years used the same basic 707-hp powertrain and carried the same headline performance claims. MotorTrend’s 3.3-second test was quicker than Jeep’s 3.5-second claim, but that is a test result rather than proof that every 2018 Trackhawk is faster than every 2021.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIs the Trackhawk faster than the Grand Cherokee SRT?
Yes, by a substantial margin. The Trackhawk uses a 707-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V8, while the 2021 Grand Cherokee SRT used a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 rated at 475 horsepower.
Is the Trackhawk AWD or 4WD?
Jeep describes it as an on-demand Quadra-Trac four-wheel-drive system. It includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential and a single-speed active transfer case. Many listings casually call it AWD, but the factory terminology is four-wheel drive.
How much does a used Trackhawk cost?
As of August 10, 2026, market data spans broadly. A reasonable shopping range is roughly the mid-$40,000s for high-mileage or compromised vehicles to more than $80,000 for clean, low-mileage examples. CLASSIC.COM listed an $85,393 market benchmark and $90,004 average recorded sale price, while Kelley Blue Book listed $65,800 resale value for a 2021 example. Mileage, title, modifications and condition can change the price substantially.
Is the Trackhawk’s 3.5-second 0–60 time real?
Yes, it is a credible factory claim under appropriate test conditions, but it is not a guaranteed result for every vehicle or driver. Car and Driver recorded 3.5 seconds, while MotorTrend recorded 3.3 seconds. Launch procedure, rollout, tires, surface, temperature and fuel load affect the result.
What is the difference between a Trackhawk and a Trailhawk?
The Trackhawk is a street-performance model with a 707-hp supercharged V8 and performance-oriented four-wheel drive. The Trailhawk is an off-road-focused trim and is not a 707-hp Hellcat SUV. Their similar names describe very different missions.
Can the Trackhawk tow 7,200 pounds?
The Trackhawk has a maximum rated towing capacity of 7,200 pounds when equipped appropriately. That is a maximum rating, not a recommendation to tow at maximum weight without considering payload, hitch equipment, trailer brakes, tires, cooling and safe speed.
What should I check before buying a used Trackhawk?
Verify the VIN and factory build, inspect for tuning and pulley changes, review service and launch history, check tires and Brembo brakes, scan for diagnostic codes, confirm the early-2018 fuel-system recall status, obtain a vehicle-history report and pay for an independent inspection by a Jeep/Dodge performance specialist.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk remains a uniquely fast, practical muscle SUV, but the relevant factory years are only 2018–2021. Quote 3.5 seconds to 60 mph as Jeep’s official figure, note the 3.3-second MotorTrend test as the quickest cited independent result, and treat the 180-mph top-speed figure as a manufacturer claim. For a used purchase, condition and history matter more than the small differences between model years: verify the vehicle, check the recall, reject questionable modifications and budget for fuel, tires, brakes and specialized maintenance.
