A New York no-parking notice reportedly marked a two-day “X900 Launch” film shoot for October 5–6, 2026, just before Jaguar unveiled its Type 01 electric GT in the city on October 6. The notice did not identify a street or venue, and it does not prove that the shoot filmed the reveal itself. It is now a pre-launch clue, not an upcoming event.
What the New York notice said
A report published October 5 described a New York City no-parking notice headed “Film Shoot” and labeled “X900 Launch.” It listed filming for Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6, and reportedly instructed vehicle owners to move their cars by 6 a.m. on October 5, warning that cars left behind would be towed. Jaguar Architecture Chief Engineer Jon Darlington shared a photo of the notice on LinkedIn, according to the report. The report did not name the street or venue, and the cited source set does not include a directly linked city permit record. Read the original report.
The timing and “X900 Launch” label suggested a connection to Jaguar’s new electric model, but the notice alone did not establish what was being filmed. Jaguar subsequently confirmed that Type 01 was unveiled in New York on October 6, 2026. That makes the permit story relevant context, but it does not confirm that the scheduled shoot captured the unveiling. Jaguar’s announcement.
What Jaguar unveiled: the Type 01
Jaguar describes the Type 01 as a luxury four-door, all-electric grand tourer and the first production Jaguar built on the brand’s dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture. The name refers to predecessors through “Type,” zero tailpipe emissions through “0,” and the first model in a new generation through “1.” Jaguar’s October 6 release.

Jaguar’s August 2026 interior announcement described a central spine running through the cabin to create four individual spaces. Managing Director Rawdon Glover said the company wanted “every journey to be an occasion,” presenting that as design intent rather than an independent assessment of the car. Jaguar says orders are planned to open in early 2027, with prices starting at £130,000. First client deliveries are expected in the second half of 2027.
