Is Zeekr coming to America?
It depends on what “coming” means. The available reporting points to a fleet connection through Waymo, while a possible future market entry by Geely remains just that: a possibility. Neither establishes that consumers can buy Zeekr-badged cars in the United States this month.

Can you buy a Zeekr in the U.S.?
The sources reviewed do not confirm U.S. consumer availability, a retail launch date, or a U.S. model lineup. A vehicle built for a robotaxi operator does not by itself establish that the same model, or any Zeekr-badged model, is approved or offered for private purchase.
That distinction also matters when reading older coverage. MotorTrend’s 2023 first-look account said Zeekr had no confirmed ambition at the time to launch its own cars in the United States. It discussed a Zeekr-designed mobility concept created with Waymo that might eventually appear on U.S. streets. That was historical context, not confirmation of a 2026 retail plan. What kind of cars does Zeekr make?

How large is Zeekr within Geely?
Geely Auto reported that Zeekr sold more than 178,000 vehicles in the first half of 2026, representing approximately 12.5% of the group’s sales volume. These are company-reported figures for Zeekr’s contribution to Geely Auto’s group sales, not U.S. sales. Geely Auto’s H1 2026 results
Could U.S. rules affect a future launch?
Yes, regulation is part of the context, but the relevant rule does not establish a Zeekr-specific launch outcome. The U.S. Department of Commerce’s connected-vehicle final rule covers specified software, hardware, manufacturers, and transactions involving vehicles connected to the United States. Some provisions apply beginning with model year 2027.

In a quoted fragment, the Bureau of Industry and Security states: “Connected vehicle manufacturers are prohibited from knowingly importing into the United States completed connected vehicles”. The surrounding rule text sets out the covered software and PRC- or Russia-linked conditions.
