Carscoops reported in 2018 that DP Motorsport built a street-legal Porsche 935 replica from a 1995 Porsche 911 Turbo (965), not from an original 935. The report describes the car and its road-going equipment, but no registration or approval documents have been independently verified here. That distinction matters: a report that a car is street-legal does not establish that it is registered or approved in every jurisdiction.
What the DP Motorsport Porsche actually is
The featured car began as a 1995 Porsche 911 Turbo (965), whose turbocharged 3.3-liter engine DP Motorsport modified to produce 450 PS (444 hp / 330 kW), according to Carscoops’ September 3, 2018 report. It is a 911-based conversion with 935-inspired styling—not an original Porsche 935 race car.
Carscoops called the conversion street-legal, but did not publish registration documents or jurisdiction-specific approval evidence. The available report therefore supports describing it as reported street-legal, not claiming that its legality has been confirmed for a particular state or country. No acceleration or top-speed figures were provided.
What the conversion reportedly changed
Engine and running gear
DP Motorsport modified the donor’s turbocharged 3.3-liter engine to the reported 450 PS output. The chassis setup includes adjustable H&R sport suspension. Carscoops also reported 9×18-inch front and 12.5×18-inch rear wheels, wearing 245/40 front and 335/30 rear tires.

Cabin and exhaust
The interior is described as gray leather with black inserts, bucket seats and racing harnesses, a three-spoke steering wheel with an airbag, and a roll-over bar. A stainless-steel exhaust was added before delivery.
Delivery and availability
Carscoops described the build as one of a kind and reported that it was delivered to a car dealer in Miami, Florida, earlier in 2018. That account does not establish a current listing, sale price, present owner, or registration record.

How it differs from Porsche’s own street-legal 935
The DP Motorsport car is not the same project as Porsche’s 1983 commissioned street-legal 935. Porsche AG’s 2013 annual report says Mansour Ojjeh commissioned that factory-built one-off. It was based on a 911 Turbo and combined chassis and body parts from a 935 with a modified 934 engine rated at 409 hp. Porsche described its Brilliant Red paint, Creme Caramel leather interior, burl wood trim, and Clarion stereo.
Porsche AG’s 2013 account also attributes 550 individual parts, 300 work hours, and a cost of 350,000 Deutsche Mark to that commission. Those figures concern Porsche’s 1983 car, not the DP Motorsport conversion.

How Lanzante’s road conversions are different
Lanzante’s work is a third, separate story: road conversions of two later, track-only Porsche 935s. Top Gear reported on July 15, 2024, that the work took 18 months and included suspension tuned for road surfaces, quieter brakes, a handbrake, a major electronic-system overhaul, additional headlights, and updated wheels.
Top Gear reported that the Lanzante cars retained a water-cooled 3.8-liter flat-six producing around 700 bhp and a seven-speed PDK transmission. Those cars are not the 965-based DP Motorsport replica, and their road-conversion work says nothing by itself about the legal status of another 935-inspired build.

What to check before calling any 935 conversion street-legal
“Street-legal” is not a universal status that automatically transfers between cars. For any specific conversion, the useful questions are:
- What is the donor? A 911 Turbo converted to resemble a 935, a factory commission, and a later track car converted for the road are different vehicles.
- What changed? Bodywork and lighting, mechanical changes, and road equipment can differ substantially between projects.
- Where is it registered or approved? Look for documentation tied to the individual vehicle and the jurisdiction where it is driven; do not infer approval from another conversion’s history.
For the DP Motorsport car, the published account identifies the donor and lists its reported modifications, but does not provide the registration or approval records needed to verify legality in a specific jurisdiction.
