They are limited checks—not an official live monitor of Tesla app sign-in or vehicle controls—so a server problem is possible but unverified. If your app cannot connect, first determine whether the issue is limited to one phone, account, or vehicle, then check the relevant app and vehicle settings.
Is the Tesla app outage ongoing?
No confirmed, widespread Tesla app outage is established by the available indicators as of October 8, 2026. A Tesla.com checker showed successful website checks through that date, and the UK Downdetector result showed no current Tesla problems. Neither tests Tesla app login or remote commands comprehensively, and Downdetector reflects user reports within its own scope.
Teslemetry’s third-party status page showed its listed services online in an October 8 update, although its recent history included a North America API authentication issue. That status applies to Teslemetry services, not directly to Tesla’s consumer app. Tesla’s official app support page provides troubleshooting guidance but does not report a current incident or provide a live outage dashboard in the retrieved information. These signals cannot establish global app availability.
Work out where the connection is failing
Check the scope before treating a failed command as a server outage. Try to identify whether the problem is app sign-in, communication between the app and car, or the vehicle’s own cellular connection. Consider whether the same symptom affects one phone, account, or vehicle—or multiple Tesla users and services. A third-party API issue is also not the same as a problem with Tesla’s consumer app.

- App will not sign in: Check your Tesla Account credentials and the app session.
- You can sign in, but a remote command fails: Check whether the vehicle is online and Mobile Access is enabled.
- The vehicle is missing from the app: Check that it is associated with the correct Tesla Account.
- Connectivity-dependent features are unreliable: Check the vehicle’s cellular signal and location.
Fix Tesla app sign-in or performance problems
Tesla’s app troubleshooting guidance recommends these checks for individual app problems:
- Confirm you are using the official Tesla app and that it is updated.
- Sign out, then sign back in using the email address associated with your Tesla Account.
- Disable a VPN connected to the phone and try again.
- Restart the phone.
If the problem persists, test whether another Tesla user or vehicle has the same issue before concluding that Tesla’s servers are responsible.

Fix a missing vehicle or failed remote access
If your car does not appear in the app, confirm it has been added to the Tesla Account you are using. On the vehicle touchscreen, check Controls > Safety & Security > Allow Mobile Access and enable Mobile Access if it is off.
If those checks do not help, Tesla recommends reinstalling the app and signing in again. Reinstalling can require you to pair the phone key again, so be prepared to complete that setup.

Check the vehicle’s cellular connection
A phone can have internet access while the car has weak or no cellular service. Tesla says the vehicle’s cellular network service is provided by the owner’s local telecommunications company; coverage or signal trouble can therefore affect connectivity-dependent features without proving an app-wide incident. Check the cellular signal bars on the vehicle touchscreen. If reception is weak, try again where coverage is stronger or restart the touchscreen. For a persistent vehicle connectivity problem, arrange service through Tesla.
If the symptom involves Premium Connectivity, check the applicable software and subscription conditions as well. Tesla’s guidance does not establish that cellular coverage is the cause of a current widespread Tesla app problem.

When to contact Tesla
Use Tesla support for persistent app or account issues, and arrange service if vehicle cellular connectivity remains unreliable after checking signal and restarting the touchscreen. Describe what fails—sign-in, vehicle visibility, Mobile Access, or a particular remote command—and whether the issue affects one or several vehicles. That distinction is more useful for troubleshooting than assuming an unverified server cause.
