The Ryvid Anthem has features that make sense for urban commuting: a removable battery, a low-speed reverse mode and an adjustable seat. Ryvid estimates up to 75 miles on the city UDDS cycle, but that is a manufacturer figure—not a guarantee of everyday range. The “$6,000” price is also dated: New Atlas reported $6,495 in December 2024, and a current new-bike price is not established by the available listings.
What the Anthem’s range figures mean for a commute
Ryvid publishes three range estimates: 75 miles on the urban UDDS cycle, 46 miles at a constant 55 mph and 57 miles combined. These are different test conditions, not three interchangeable promises. The FAQ says the highway estimate assumes a 150-pound rider and 10 pounds of gear; Ryvid cautions that actual range varies with conditions and riding habits. Ryvid’s product page and FAQ are the sources for these manufacturer estimates.
For a city route with frequent stops and speeds below highway pace, the UDDS figure is the more relevant reference, though real-world results can still differ. A commute involving sustained faster roads should be planned against the lower 55-mph estimate, with a reserve rather than assuming the full stated distance is usable. The published figures do not establish an independent real-world range test.
Charging at home and away from the bike
Ryvid describes the 4.3-kWh lithium-ion battery as removable, so it can be charged on or off the motorcycle. That may help riders without a convenient outlet at a parking spot, provided they can safely carry and charge the pack where they live. The published specifications do not state the battery’s carry weight.

- 220V supply: Ryvid’s FAQ lists 1.1 hours to 80%.
- Level 2: Ryvid’s product page advertises 80% in 75 minutes using Level 2 charging and an approved J-plug adapter.

Weight, seat fit and low-speed maneuvering
The Anthem is a motorcycle, not an e-bike-like lightweight vehicle. Ryvid’s FAQ lists 313 pounds with the battery installed and 226 pounds without it. The battery-out figure is not the ready-to-ride weight. The distinction matters if you need to move the bike by hand, park it in a tight space or carry the removable pack indoors.
Ryvid says the seat height adjusts from 31 to 34 inches and includes a reverse mode. An adjustable seat can make fit easier to tailor, while reverse may help with backing out of a tight parking spot. Neither specification alone establishes how comfortable or easy the bike feels for a particular rider; that requires trying the actual motorcycle.

Speed and power: check the route, not just the headline
Ryvid’s published top-speed claims vary: the product page gives 75+ mph and also says “up to 85 MPH,” while its FAQ says the bike can reach 84 mph depending on factors. Taken together, the company describes speeds in the mid-80-mph range, subject to configuration and conditions. That is not a substitute for checking whether a regular route requires sustained highway speed.
The FAQ lists rated power at 10 hp (7.5 kW) and peak power in an 18-to-20-hp range depending on controller or configuration. Rated and peak figures describe different things; peak power should not be read as the bike’s continuous output.

Is the Anthem a good fit for your city commute?
The strongest case is for a rider whose daily route fits comfortably within the range estimate relevant to that route, and who can charge at home or remove the battery to charge elsewhere. The adjustable seat and reverse mode also address practical urban use, while the bike’s 313-pound ready-to-ride weight is worth considering for parking and maneuvering.
- It may suit you if: your route is mostly urban, the expected distance leaves a charging and range margin, and you have a workable place to charge.
- Look more closely if: your commute depends on sustained faster-road travel, your parking requires frequent pushing or lifting, or removable-pack charging would be inconvenient.
- Before buying: verify current price and availability, the exact charging equipment, service and warranty terms, and whether a test ride is possible.
Ryvid advertises “6,000 miles for only $160 of electricity,” describing it as evaluated in California. That is the manufacturer’s calculation, not an independent ownership-cost result; electricity prices and use affect what a rider would actually pay. Ryvid’s product page presents the claim.
