Is the Komaki Venice Worth Buying? Pros, Cons and Ownership Costs

Komaki lists three 70 km/h Venice variants from ₹1,05,400 to ₹1,69,000 ex-showroom. The higher 200 km and 300 km ranges are manufacturer claims, so verify the exact battery, warranty, route range and local service before buying.

Short answer: The Komaki Venice is worth considering only after you identify the exact variant, obtain a written on-road quote, and verify usable range, battery warranty and local service. Komaki lists three 70 km/h versions with claimed ranges from 75–100 km to 300 km, but the higher figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent, route-based tests. The price gap is large enough that battery specification and warranty evidence should decide whether the upgrade makes sense.

Komaki Venice variants, prices and claimed range

Komaki’s official Venice page, checked on 13 October 2026, lists three configurations. The figures below are a page snapshot, not a guaranteed quotation. Komaki says prices can vary by state, so request a current dealer invoice before treating any amount as your purchase price.

Variant Claimed range Listed top speed Ex-showroom price shown by Komaki What the number means
Venice Sport 75–100 km 70 km/h ₹1,05,400 Manufacturer-stated range; test method and usable-load conditions are not stated on the page.
Venice Sport Performance Upgrade 200 km 70 km/h ₹1,51,257 Manufacturer claim; ask the dealer to identify the battery and motor fitted to this exact trim.
Venice Ultra Sport 300 km 70 km/h ₹1,69,000 Manufacturer claim; no independent Venice-specific route test was established.

The middle version costs ₹45,857 more than the Venice Sport at the displayed ex-showroom prices. The Ultra Sport is another ₹17,743 above the Performance Upgrade and ₹63,600 above the entry trim. Those differences are meaningful only if the larger-range versions have documented battery capacity, warranty coverage and real-world performance that match your use.

Venice Sport

The Sport is the least expensive way into the range and the only version with a 75–100 km range band rather than a single headline number. It may suit a rider whose daily trip is short and who can charge at home every night. The listed ₹1,05,400 is ex-showroom, so registration, insurance, handling and any state-specific charges are extra.

Venice Sport Performance Upgrade

Komaki lists a 200 km claimed range at ₹1,51,257 ex-showroom. Before paying the premium, insist on a written specification identifying battery capacity and chemistry, charger rating, warranty duration, exclusions and expected charging time. The official page does not provide those variant-specific details.

Venice Ultra Sport

The Ultra Sport carries the highest listed claim—300 km—and a ₹1,69,000 ex-showroom price. A 300 km claim can be valuable for riders who cannot charge frequently, but it should not be interpreted as 300 km on every route. Ask for a demonstration on a route resembling your own, with the intended rider load, and record the starting and ending state of charge.

How credible are the Venice range figures?

All three ranges are manufacturer-stated. The material available for this model does not include a controlled, representative, independent range test, so there is no defensible percentage to subtract from the advertised numbers. Traffic, speed, hills, temperature, tyre pressure, payload, riding mode and battery age can materially change the distance achieved.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A secondary specification result describes a 2.88 kWh battery and a 300 km claimed IDC range. It does not explain whether that configuration belongs to the Ultra Sport, another trim or a particular model year. Do not use that figure to calculate range per rupee for every Venice. Have the dealer match the battery and motor identifiers on the quotation to the exact scooter you will receive.

Turn the claim into a route decision

  1. Measure your longest normal day, including detours, a passenger if applicable and a reserve for finding a charger.
  2. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the scooter over a comparable distance and traffic pattern, rather than relying on a showroom spin.
  3. Write down battery state of charge before and after the ride, ambient conditions, rider weight, speed and use of lights or other accessories.
  4. Repeat the exercise on a second day if the purchase depends on the advertised range. A single ride is evidence for your route, not a universal test result.

If the seller will not identify the battery or allow a meaningful demonstration, treat the headline range as unverified and do not pay a premium for it.

What does it cost to own a Komaki Venice?

The purchase price is only the first line. Your useful comparison is the total cost over the period you expect to keep the scooter:

Total ownership cost = on-road purchase price + electricity + insurance + routine service and consumables + finance cost − resale value.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For an electric scooter, electricity depends on energy used from the wall, not merely the battery’s nominal capacity. Charging losses, battery temperature and the difference between displayed and actual state of charge matter. Because the Venice page does not state a variant-specific battery capacity or efficiency figure, a precise Venice electricity cost cannot be calculated from the published data alone.

Build your own electricity estimate

  1. Obtain the exact battery capacity in kWh and the manufacturer’s charging-efficiency or consumption figure for your variant. If the dealer cannot provide one, mark the input as unknown instead of borrowing a number from another model.
  2. Record your household tariff in ₹ per kWh, including slab changes, taxes and any time-of-use rate.
  3. Estimate annual kilometres from your calendar, not a generic commuter assumption.
  4. Use this formula: annual electricity cost = annual kilometres × wall energy per kilometre × tariff.
  5. Add a conservative allowance for charging losses if the quoted consumption is measured at the battery rather than the wall outlet.

Illustrative arithmetic only: if a future, variant-specific measurement showed 0.05 kWh per kilometre from the wall, your tariff were ₹8 per kWh and you rode 10,000 km in a year, the electricity line would be 10,000 × 0.05 × ₹8 = ₹4,000. Those inputs are examples, not Venice test results; replace every one with your bills and measured consumption.

Manufacturer running-cost comparison

Komaki’s general electric-scooter page, checked on 13 October 2026, says running cost is “under ₹1 per km” compared with ₹3.50–₹5.00 for petrol and claims monthly fuel savings of ₹1,800–₹2,500. These are category-level manufacturer statements, not an independently audited Venice calculation. They do not include insurance, servicing, financing, battery replacement, charging losses or your actual annual distance. Use them as a prompt to gather your own inputs, not as a promised saving.

On-road price and recurring charges

The on-road amount normally combines the ex-showroom price with registration, insurance and handling charges. State rules, insurance cover, optional accessories and dealer fees can change the total. Ask for an itemised quote that separates:

  • ex-showroom price for the exact trim and battery;
  • registration and any applicable tax or incentive treatment;
  • one-year insurance premium and add-ons;
  • handling, documentation, delivery and accessories;
  • charger, installation or electrical-work charges; and
  • finance processing fees, interest and prepayment conditions, if you borrow.

Do not use the ₹15,000–₹35,000 replacement-battery range shown on Komaki’s general electric-scooter page as a Venice quote. That page does not identify the figure as Venice-specific. The sources available here do not establish a Venice replacement price or a model-specific battery warranty.

Insurance and service budgeting

Obtain an insurance quote for your registration location and intended coverage; premiums vary with insurer, declared value, add-ons and claim history. Ask the dealer for the scheduled service intervals, labour rates, consumables, roadside assistance terms and parts lead times in writing. A low energy bill does not compensate for long periods without the scooter if a controller, charger, display or body part is unavailable.

Battery, charging and warranty questions to settle before purchase

The official Venice page reviewed here does not state variant-specific battery chemistry, capacity, charge time, warranty duration, warranty exclusions or replacement pricing. Those omissions are decision-critical because the variants are separated by tens of thousands of rupees.

  • Battery identity: record nominal capacity in kWh, chemistry, supplier, physical location and whether the quoted capacity is gross or usable.
  • Warranty: get years, kilometres, minimum retained capacity, parts covered, labour coverage, transferability and exclusions. Confirm whether commercial use, water exposure or non-approved accessories affect claims.
  • Charging: ask for full-charge time from a known state of charge, charger output, connector type, cable length and whether a dedicated circuit is required.
  • Electrical installation: have an electrician verify earthing, socket rating and cable condition. Do not use an improvised extension in a wet or overloaded location.
  • Replacement: request today’s battery replacement price, expected lead time and whether the price includes fitting, software pairing and disposal of the old pack.

Keep the signed quotation, battery serial number, invoice, warranty booklet and every service job card. They are your evidence if a warranty claim is disputed.

  1. Is the exact variant and colour physically available, and what is the written delivery date?
  2. Which workshop will handle warranty work, and how far is it from your home?
  3. Which technicians are trained on the Venice, and which parts are stocked locally?
  4. What is the normal turnaround for a battery, controller, charger and instrument cluster?
  5. How are roadside breakdowns logged, and who authorises a warranty replacement?
  6. Can the workshop show a blank service schedule and a sample invoice?

Online forum posts alleging build, range, component or service problems are self-selected anecdotes. They cannot establish how often a problem occurs or whether it applies to your scooter. They are useful prompts for the questions above, not proof that every Venice is unreliable.

Pros and cons of the Komaki Venice

Potential advantages

  • Three official configurations create a clear price-and-claimed-range ladder: ₹1,05,400, ₹1,51,257 and ₹1,69,000 ex-showroom on the page checked 13 October 2026.
  • Komaki lists a 70 km/h top speed for each configuration, which places them in the same advertised speed category despite the different range claims.
  • The authorised-dealer route gives buyers a way to request a state-specific quote, demonstration and written warranty terms.
  • The entry Sport may keep the initial outlay lower for riders with predictable short trips and nightly charging.

Risks and unknowns

  • The 200 km and 300 km figures are manufacturer claims without an independent, representative Venice range test in the available evidence.
  • The official page does not disclose variant-specific battery capacity, chemistry, charge time, warranty or replacement price.
  • A secondary 2.88 kWh/300 km specification does not clearly map to the three official trims, so cross-trim comparisons can be misleading.
  • Local service quality, parts availability, inventory and delivery dates depend on the buyer’s location and were not verified for a particular dealer.
  • A premium paid for range is difficult to justify if the seller cannot document the battery configuration and demonstrate usable distance on your route.

Which Venice variant fits which rider?

Rider situation Logical starting point Evidence still required
Short, repeatable commute; home charging every night Venice Sport Measured route reserve, on-road quote and battery warranty.
Longer daily use or fewer charging opportunities Performance Upgrade Proof that the 200 km claim belongs to the quoted configuration, plus a route demonstration.
Very high daily distance and strong need to avoid frequent charging Ultra Sport Independent or dealer-demonstrated usable range, battery specification, replacement cost and service capacity.
Uncertain route, no dependable home charging or distant service centre Pause the purchase Resolve charging and support gaps before choosing any trim.

This is a decision framework, not a claim that any variant will deliver the stated distance in your conditions. The exact battery and a credible local support path matter more than the badge.

How to compare the Venice with another scooter

Compare like with like rather than placing a single claimed range beside another model’s laboratory number. Put these fields on one sheet for every candidate:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Comparison field What to record Why it changes the decision
Variant and model year Exact trim, battery and motor identifiers Prevents a brochure specification from being applied to a different scooter.
Usable range Distance on your route, load and speed Shows whether you can finish a normal day with a reserve.
Battery terms Capacity, chemistry, warranty threshold and exclusions Determines risk after the initial warranty period.
Charging Wall-to-full time, charger rating and installation needs Reveals whether overnight or workplace charging is practical.
Support Workshop distance, stocked parts and claim turnaround Limits downtime when something fails.
Five-year cost inputs On-road price, kilometres, tariff, insurance, service, finance and battery assumption Prevents a low running-cost headline from hiding a high total cost.

A longer advertised range should not automatically win. If the claimed figure is not tied to a documented battery and your route test, the apparent value may disappear once you account for the higher purchase price.

Step-by-step buying process

  1. Select the trim on paper. Write down the variant, listed range, price and 70 km/h top-speed claim from the current official page.
  2. Contact an authorised dealer. Request a dated, itemised ex-showroom and on-road quote for your state.
  3. Demand the specification sheet. Confirm battery capacity and chemistry, motor rating, charger, charge time, warranty and replacement process for the exact vehicle identification number or order.
  4. Plan your route test. Use your normal distance, hills, traffic and payload. Record state of charge, speed and weather before and after.
  5. Inspect the support path. Visit the workshop, verify parts availability and obtain written escalation contacts for warranty claims.
  6. Calculate ownership. Insert your kilometres, electricity tariff, charging losses, insurance, service, finance and a sourced battery assumption into the total-cost formula.
  7. Read the contract. Ensure the invoice, warranty booklet, delivery date, included accessories and refund terms match the quotation.
  8. Collect records at delivery. Photograph the odometer, battery serial, charger, supplied tools and any visible damage; keep all documents.

Who should buy—and who should wait?

A reasonable buyer profile

The Venice can make sense for a rider who values its classic styling, has dependable home charging, rides a predictable route, can reach an authorised workshop and is willing to verify the exact battery and warranty before choosing a range tier. That buyer may prefer the Sport for lower upfront cost or select a higher trim only when its additional capacity is documented and useful.

Reasons to wait

Delay the purchase if the dealer cannot provide a variant-specific battery specification, written warranty, realistic delivery date, itemised on-road price or a usable service path. Also wait if your daily distance leaves no reserve under the Sport’s 75–100 km claim and the seller cannot demonstrate that the 200 km or 300 km versions meet your route. The uncertainty is not solved by a larger number in a brochure.

Verdict: is the Komaki Venice worth buying?

The Komaki Venice is a conditional buy, not an automatic recommendation. The Sport has the clearest entry price and a modest claimed range; the Performance Upgrade and Ultra Sport ask ₹1,51,257 and ₹1,69,000 ex-showroom for much larger advertised ranges. Before paying those premiums, require proof of the exact battery configuration, warranty coverage, charging behaviour and usable range on your route. Because Venice-specific battery, warranty, replacement-cost and independent range data are not established in the available sources, a seller who cannot document those points has not supplied enough evidence to justify committing your money.
