Yes—within Honda’s 2025 Adventure lineup as shown in its category brochure, the CRF1100L Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports tie for the highest listed peak output: 75 kW (101 HP) at 7,500 rpm. The XL750 Transalp is listed at 67.5 kW at 9,500 rpm. These are Honda-published figures for the brochure’s market context, not an independent test or a universal comparison across every Honda motorcycle market.
How the 2025 Honda Adventure models compare on power
Honda’s 2025 Adventure category brochure lists the following peak-output figures. The two Africa Twin versions tie; neither is more powerful than the other in this comparison.
| Model | Peak output listed by Honda | Engine displacement |
|---|---|---|
| CRF1100L Africa Twin | 75 kW (101 HP) at 7,500 rpm | Not stated in the category brochure; Honda’s U.S. 2025 specification page lists 1084cc |
| Africa Twin Adventure Sports | 75 kW (101 HP) at 7,500 rpm | Not stated in the category brochure; Honda’s U.S. 2025 specification page lists 1084cc for the Africa Twin |
| XL750 Transalp | 67.5 kW at 9,500 rpm | Not stated in the category brochure; Honda’s U.S. 2025 specification page lists 755cc |
Source for brochure output figures: Honda-published 2025 Adventure category brochure. Displacement figures are from Honda’s U.S. 2025 Africa Twin specifications and U.S. 2025 Transalp specifications. Honda’s U.S. specification pages do not state horsepower, so the 101 HP claim belongs specifically to the brochure comparison rather than the U.S. spec listing.
What “most powerful” means here—and what it does not
The claim is supported when limited to the models and market context in Honda’s 2025 Adventure brochure: the Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports share the top listed figure, ahead of the Transalp. It does not establish that an Africa Twin is the most powerful Honda motorcycle of any type, or that every Honda market uses the same lineup, naming, or published specifications.

The brochure’s 75 kW (101 HP) is a manufacturer-published peak-output rating, not a result from an independent dynamometer test. Honda’s U.S. materials identify the 2025 Africa Twin as a 1084cc parallel twin; Honda News renders the engine as 1,083cc in its release. Those are different presentations of the displacement figure, so they should not be silently treated as identical measurement precision.
Which 2025 Africa Twin version suits your riding?
In the U.S. lineup, Honda offers four configurations: Africa Twin, Africa Twin DCT, Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES, and Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT. The output comparison does not show a power increase for DCT; it is a transmission choice, while the brochure gives the Africa Twin variants the same peak output.

Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES: more road-focused touring
The Adventure Sports ES uses a 19-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel, along with electronic rear suspension. Honda associates this configuration with improved on-road performance. It has a 6.6-gallon tank and seat heights of 33.7 inches standard or 32.9 inches low. Honda lists the manual model at 535 pounds and the DCT version at 559 pounds.
