For the 2026 model year, the Toyota Tacoma is the only manual pickup among the current U.S. manufacturer specifications checked. Toyota offers a six-speed manual on selected Tacoma trims; the 2026 Jeep Gladiator and the other major midsize pickups reviewed specify automatic transmissions. This is a comparison of published specifications, not an official census of every pickup configuration sold in the country.
Which 2026 Tacoma trims offer a manual?
Toyota lists a six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) for the Tacoma SR, TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road. Other Tacoma grades should not be assumed to offer it: Toyota presents the i-FORCE MAX hybrid grades separately from the manual-available i-FORCE gas grades. Cab, bed, drivetrain and powertrain combinations may also be limited, so check Toyota’s current 2026 Tacoma lineup and configuration details before pursuing a specific build.
Toyota describes the SR as available in Double Cab with a five-foot bed or XtraCab with a six-foot bed. That does not mean every manual trim is available in every cab-and-bed configuration.
What does Toyota’s manual transmission include?
Toyota says the manual Tacoma models include automatic rev-matching and anti-stall technology. The company also describes a Clutch Start Cancel (CSC) switch that can help reduce rollback risk when restarting on challenging terrain. These are Toyota’s descriptions of the features, not independent test findings. See Toyota’s manual-transmission overview for its explanation.

Does the 2026 Jeep Gladiator have a manual?
No manual is listed in Jeep’s official 2026 Gladiator specifications: the transmission is an eight-speed automatic. That resolves the most familiar current-year counterexample to the Tacoma’s distinction. Some search results, including an iSeeCars page titled “Best Manual Transmission Trucks for 2026,” still name the Gladiator as a manual option; that claim conflicts with Jeep’s model-year specification. For this question, the manufacturer’s current 2026 Gladiator specs are the more direct source.
How do other major midsize pickups compare?
The official 2026 specifications checked for these midsize pickups list automatic transmissions:

What to check before choosing a manual Tacoma
- Confirm the exact configuration. Verify the trim, cab, bed, drivetrain and engine in Toyota’s current build and inventory tools; lineup availability does not guarantee a particular truck is orderable or locally stocked.
- Keep performance figures trim-specific. Toyota’s published maximum of 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque applies to the broader Tacoma lineup, not necessarily to a manual-equipped trim.
- Check current pricing directly. Toyota’s page lists base MSRPs of $32,545 for SR and $40,415 for TRD Sport. These are base prices and may vary by model and location; confirm current figures and the price of the configuration you want on Toyota’s Tacoma page.
