The 2026 gas-powered Dodge Charger SIXPACK can work as a daily driver if you want standard all-wheel drive, supportive front seats and the usefulness of a hatchback. Its main everyday compromises are restricted sightlines, limited rear headroom and a wide sill that makes back-seat entry awkward. Car and Driver’s test of the R/T sedan found the front seats supportive over a long highway drive, but that does not mean every seat or trim will fit every driver. Try the specific car and check your own visibility before deciding.
What makes the Charger SIXPACK practical for daily use?
The SIXPACK is the gas-powered Charger offered as the R/T with a 420-hp standard-output engine and the Scat Pack with 550 hp. Dodge lists standard all-wheel drive for both. Those figures explain the performance angle, but daily suitability depends more on whether the car’s seating position, sightlines and cargo layout suit your routine.
The biggest practical distinction from a conventional sedan is the liftback-style hatch: it opens access to a broad load area rather than a small trunk opening. That makes loading bulky items easier, though the measurements differ by source and configuration.
Are the front seats comfortable?
In its road test of a 2026 Charger SIXPACK R/T sedan, Car and Driver described the high-back performance seats as firm and well-shaped, and said they remained supportive over a long highway stint. That points to a performance-oriented seat rather than a plush one. Your comfort will depend on your build, preferred posture and tolerance for a firmer cushion, so spend time in the exact car you are considering.

Dodge lists heated and ventilated performance-inspired seats, adjustable thigh bolsters and multiple upholstery choices, with equipment varying by trim and package. The Scat Pack announcement also lists available 12-way power seats with four-way lumbar in Plus packages. Check the window sticker for the car’s actual equipment and try the adjustments in person; seat features should not be assumed to be standard across SIXPACK trims.
How much room is there for passengers and cargo?
Rear-seat passengers
Car and Driver’s R/T test found ample rear legroom but limited headroom. The reviewer also noted that the fairly wide door sill makes climbing into the back less graceful than the exterior size might suggest. If you regularly carry tall passengers or install a child seat, check both the seating position and the entry path yourself.

Consumer Reports’ search-result summary also flags a low seat position and tight headroom. That is limited corroboration rather than a detailed second road test, so it does not establish how every passenger will fit.
Cargo space
The hatch is a useful advantage for everyday loads. Car and Driver measured 23 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 38 cubic feet with them folded in its tested R/T. Dodge advertises up to 37.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo area for the R/T. These are source-specific figures, and the difference may reflect rounding or measurement methods; they should not be treated as one reconciled measurement.

Dodge’s regional specifications page lists 645 L standard and 1,059 L maximum interior cargo volume, but it covers market-specific configurations and several variants. Those figures should not be transferred to a U.S. SIXPACK sedan without confirming they apply to that exact version.
Is visibility a problem in everyday driving?
Restricted visibility is the clearest reported daily-use drawback. Car and Driver noted that the power-bulged hood, low-mounted inside mirror and large housing for the forward-facing camera block parts of the view. The reviewer said the car can feel larger as a result, particularly in tight surroundings. This is a reason to assess the driving position on the road and while maneuvering, not just from the showroom.

Dodge lists a surround 360-degree camera and tire-to-curb view on specified equipment; the Scat Pack Plus feature list includes surround-camera equipment. These aids can help with parking and curb placement, but they do not remove the reported obstruction in the forward view. Confirm which camera features are fitted to the trim and package you are considering, and check how they display before relying on them.

The direct comfort and visibility evidence here comes from a test of the R/T sedan. Dodge’s specifications identify the R/T as a 420-hp SIXPACK S.O. with standard AWD and the Scat Pack as a 550-hp model with standard AWD. The available material does not establish a comfort ranking between the trims, so do not assume the more powerful version has the same seat fit or everyday feel without trying it.

Dodge CEO Matt McAlear described the R/T as “a muscle car that can double as an everyday driver, with an award-winning interior and best-in-class cargo volume.” That is Dodge’s positioning, not an independent verdict on how comfortable or easy to see out of the car will be for you. For a purchase decision, compare the actual cars on the points that affect your routine:
- Seat fit, adjustment range, lumbar support and whether heating or ventilation is included.
- Your forward and side sightlines from the driver’s seat, including the view around the mirror and camera housing.
- Rear headroom, passenger entry and legroom if you use the back seat often.
- Whether the hatch and load area handle the items you regularly carry, with the rear seats up and folded.
- Which parking-camera features are fitted, and whether their views are useful in your usual parking spaces.
The most useful final check is an extended test drive in the exact trim: settle into the driver’s seat, use the mirrors and cameras, park in a tight space, and have a regular rear-seat passenger climb in and sit behind your chosen driving position.
