Is the 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Worth Its Price? Range, Trims, and Real-World Value

The 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV can be worth its price for buyers who value space, comfort, range, or SS performance—but trim, drivetrain, charging access, and the dealer’s real transaction price determine the answer.

Sometimes. The 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV makes a credible case when you want a roomy, comfortable electric SUV, useful cargo space, up to 312 miles of EPA-estimated range in front-wheel-drive form, or the 615-horsepower SS. It is harder to justify if your priority is the lowest purchase price, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring, or maximum highway range with all-wheel drive. The right answer depends on the exact trim, the dealer’s transaction price, your charging access, and the alternatives you are considering—not the window sticker alone.

What does a 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV cost?

Published prices differ by source and by how the vehicle is configured. Chevrolet’s U.S. EV page lists a $45,000 starting price and a $60,700 as-shown price. Car and Driver lists a 2026 MSRP range of $46,495 to $62,495. Kelley Blue Book lists $46,495 for the LT, $52,295 for the RS, and $62,495 for the SS. Destination charges, options, model-year labeling, incentives, and dealer pricing can account for some of the difference, so verify the window sticker and buyer’s order for the specific vehicle.

Trim Published MSRP Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price* Drive choices
LT $46,495 $42,800 FWD or AWD
RS $52,295 $48,100 FWD or AWD
SS $62,495 $58,600 AWD only

The 2026 lineup no longer offers the previous rear-wheel-drive RS configuration. Chevrolet’s own listing shows the vehicle starting at $45,000, while the as-shown example is $60,700; those figures should not be treated as a single universal price for every Blazer EV.

What you get at each powertrain and trim

LT: the value-oriented starting point

The LT is available with front- or all-wheel drive. Car and Driver lists 220 horsepower for the FWD powertrain and 300 horsepower for AWD. FWD provides the lineup’s highest EPA estimate, while AWD trades some range for additional traction and output. For buyers who mainly commute and can charge at home, an LT FWD can be the most rational configuration.

RS: more equipment and a wider price step

The RS is also available with FWD or AWD. Its price sits substantially above the LT before options, so the upgrade is worthwhile only if its styling, equipment, or available configuration matches what you actually want. In Car and Driver testing, an AWD RS reached 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. That is a result for the tested vehicle and conditions, not a guarantee for every RS.

SS: performance at a premium

The SS is AWD-only and uses a 615-horsepower powertrain. Car and Driver recorded 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds for its test car. The SS also carries the highest published MSRP, so its value depends on whether sports-car acceleration is a primary reason to buy an electric SUV. It is not the range-maximizing choice.

How much range does the Blazer EV really deliver?

EPA estimates vary materially by drivetrain. Car and Driver lists up to 312 miles for FWD versions, 283 miles for AWD LT and RS versions, and 303 miles for the AWD SS. Chevrolet’s page also cites 312 miles for an FWD configuration. The FWD figure is therefore the headline range, not a number every Blazer EV achieves.

Configuration EPA-estimated range Car and Driver 75-mph highway test
FWD LT/RS Up to 312 miles Not stated
AWD LT 283 miles 210 miles
AWD RS 283 miles 200 miles
AWD SS 303 miles 250 miles

Car and Driver’s 75-mph test produced 200 miles for the AWD RS, 210 for the AWD LT, and 250 for the SS. Highway speed, temperature, wind, tire choice, traffic, elevation, cabin heating or cooling, and the buffer you keep before charging all affect actual results. If you routinely drive long interstate stretches, plan from the tested range rather than assuming the EPA number will be available at 75 mph.

Charging: convenient at home, more complicated on trips

Home Level 2 charging

Kelley Blue Book says Level 2 home charging can replenish the Blazer EV overnight. That setup is usually the most important ownership convenience: you can begin each day with a predictable charge instead of visiting a public station for routine energy. Installation cost and electrical capacity vary by home, so obtain an electrician’s assessment before buying equipment.

DC fast charging

Car and Driver measured 10%–90% DC fast charging in 57 minutes. KBB estimates about 40 minutes for 10%–80%. These are different charge windows and different types of evidence, so neither is a universal promise. Charging speed changes with battery temperature, charger output, state of charge, station sharing, and the vehicle’s software.

Using additional fast-charging networks

KBB says Tesla Supercharger stations can be used with a GM-approved NACS DC fast-charging adapter. Confirm that the specific Blazer EV, adapter, and station are compatible before relying on this for a road trip. Network availability, connector status, and station power can still determine whether the stop is useful.

Is the cabin and utility worth the money?

The Blazer EV’s strongest value argument is everyday usability. Car and Driver describes a smooth ride, predictable handling, and a roomy five-seat cabin. It reports 26 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 60 cubic feet with those seats folded. That combination gives the Blazer a practical advantage for passengers and bulky cargo without moving to a much larger SUV.

The major technology compromise is the reported absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. If your daily routine depends on projecting phone navigation, messages, or music through those systems, spend time with Chevrolet’s native interface during a test drive. A comfortable seat and generous cargo area may not offset an interface you dislike using every day.

What does ownership cost beyond the purchase price?

Kelley Blue Book’s model for a 2026 Blazer EV estimates five-year cost to own at $73,329. Its breakdown includes $31,976 in depreciation and $41,353 in out-of-pocket expenses. This is a third-party model, not a personalized forecast. Your result can change with annual mileage, insurance, financing rate, electricity prices, maintenance, local taxes, incentives, and resale value.

  • Obtain an insurance quote using the exact trim and your address.
  • Estimate electricity from your local rate and expected miles, including the share charged at home versus public stations.
  • Use your loan rate and down payment rather than a national financing assumption.
  • Compare the dealer’s complete out-the-door quote, including destination, accessories, taxes, registration, and any discount.
  • Check the value of your current vehicle separately from the advertised Blazer price.

Do not treat a contemporaneous tax-credit statement as a current incentive. The Associated Press reported that Chevrolet resumed Blazer EV sales in March 2024 after a software update and quoted a company executive discussing eligibility in that period. Incentive rules and vehicle eligibility can change; verify any credit with current government guidance and the selling dealer before counting it in your budget.

How does the Blazer EV compare with other electric SUVs?

Chevrolet Equinox EV

The Equinox EV deserves a direct test drive when price and space are your main concerns. KBB says it has very similar interior space, slightly more cargo room, and less than one inch less rear legroom than the Blazer EV. If those measurements meet your needs, the less expensive model may leave more budget for charging equipment or a higher trim. The Blazer’s case rests on the particular design, ride, available range and performance you prefer.

Ford Mustang Mach-E GT

Car and Driver identifies the Mustang Mach-E GT as a performance alternative. Compare the actual configured prices, highway charging route, rear-seat comfort, cargo shape, and warranty terms rather than comparing badge-level MSRPs.

Tesla Model Y Performance

Car and Driver also names the Model Y Performance, while KBB says the Model Y’s maximum range is longer than the Blazer EV’s. A buyer should still compare the range of the specific drivetrain, the charging network used on regular routes, cabin controls, phone integration, service arrangements, and the delivered price.

What reliability history should a buyer check?

GM halted Blazer EV sales in late 2023 after software problems involving touchscreen functionality and fast charging. The Associated Press reported that sales resumed in March 2024 after a software update the company said resolved those issues. That history matters, but it does not establish the reliability of every later model year or confirm that a particular used vehicle received every applicable repair.

For a new vehicle

  • Ask the dealer to show the vehicle’s current software version and completed campaigns.
  • Confirm that the charging system, touchscreen, driver displays, and climate controls operate during your test drive.
  • Get any promised update or repair documented on the buyer’s order.

For a used vehicle

  • Run the VIN through Chevrolet and the dealer for open recalls and service campaigns.
  • Request repair records, especially for software and charging work.
  • Test both AC Level 2 and DC fast charging if practical.
  • Check battery state-of-health information if the seller can provide it, and have an independent inspection for accident or flood damage.

How much should you pay?

Start with the exact trim and drivetrain, then use the published figures as a range rather than a target that applies everywhere. KBB’s October 13, 2026 Fair Purchase Price estimates—$42,800 for LT, $48,100 for RS, and $58,600 for SS—are useful negotiation references because KBB says they update weekly. They are not guarantees, and they may not reflect a specific vehicle’s options or local market.

  1. Choose FWD or AWD before evaluating a quote; the decision changes both performance and range.
  2. Write down the vehicle’s model year, trim, options, destination charge, and VIN.
  3. Request an itemized out-the-door price from multiple dealers.
  4. Subtract only incentives for which you have confirmed eligibility and timing.
  5. Compare the result with an Equinox EV and at least one other vehicle using the same assumptions for financing, charging, and trade-in value.
  6. Reject a deal that depends on an unverified future credit, unavailable charger, or an unexplained add-on.

Who should buy the Blazer EV?

It is a strong fit when:

  • You want a quiet, roomy five-seat SUV with useful cargo capacity.
  • You can charge at home or have dependable charging along your regular routes.
  • You accept that AWD highway range can be far below the EPA estimate.
  • You value the SS’s acceleration enough to pay for it.
  • You are comfortable using Chevrolet’s infotainment without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto mirroring.

Look elsewhere when:

  • Your only goal is the lowest-cost electric SUV with similar passenger space.
  • You regularly drive long highway distances and cannot tolerate 200–250-mile tested legs in AWD models.
  • Phone projection is a non-negotiable feature.
  • Your local dealer cannot provide a transparent price or demonstrate charging and software functions.

Bottom line

The 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV is worth its price when its room, ride, charging access, range in the configuration you choose, or SS performance solves a specific need—and the dealer’s actual price is competitive. It is not an automatic value winner. FWD delivers the best EPA range, AWD gives up range for traction and output, real-world highway results are lower than EPA estimates, and the lack of phone mirroring is a meaningful daily drawback. Price the exact vehicle, test its interface and charging behavior, and compare it directly with the Equinox EV before signing.
