No. GMC does not list a 2025 squarebody production truck in its official lineup, and it had not announced a revival as of SlashGear’s February 8, 2025 report. Images circulating online are not evidence of an official GMC reveal.
What trucks does GMC list for 2025?
GMC’s official truck lineup lists the Canyon, Sierra 1500, Sierra Heavy Duty, Sierra EV Denali, and HUMMER EV Pickup. It does not include a squarebody model.
That lineup is the clearest answer to whether a 2025 GMC squarebody is a production vehicle: no such model appears on GMC’s official truck page.
Where did the 2025 squarebody claim come from?
In a report published February 8, 2025, SlashGear said GMC had made no official announcement about a new squarebody truck. The report traced much of the rumor to less reliable outlets presenting purported concept images, and said some images and videos came from YouTube sources using AI programs.

Those are SlashGear’s descriptions of the material it examined, not confirmation that any render came from GMC. Unless GMC announces a truck or lists it as a model, a viral image should be treated as unofficial artwork or rumor—not a prototype or reveal.
How can you assess a supposed GMC reveal?
SlashGear noted visual warning signs in images it examined, including distorted lettering, blurred details, and questionable design elements. Such clues can prompt skepticism, but they are not a definitive test for AI imagery. The more reliable check is whether GMC itself announced the vehicle or included it in its official lineup.

What does “squarebody” refer to?
SlashGear describes GMC and Chevrolet squarebody trucks as belonging to a 1973–1987 production era. That historical reference is separate from the unannounced 2025 revival claim; it does not mean GMC has confirmed a modern version.

No confirmed 2025 GMC squarebody trims are listed, so there are no real squarebody versions to compare. GMC’s listed 2025 trucks are the Canyon, Sierra 1500, Sierra Heavy Duty, Sierra EV Denali, and HUMMER EV Pickup.
