Is Dodge Bringing Back the ‘Cuda? What’s Confirmed—and What Isn’t

A trademark report and Charger Portal graphic have fueled speculation, but Dodge has not confirmed a production ‘Cuda. Here’s what is known and what remains unannounced.

Dodge has not announced a production ‘Cuda revival in the available public record as of October 8, 2026. A September report points to trademark activity and a fish-like graphic in Dodge’s Charger Portal, but those clues do not confirm an approved car, its timing, design, or powertrain.

Why the ‘Cuda revival rumor surfaced

CarCody reports two possible clues: recent CUDA trademark activity and a fish-like image in Dodge’s Charger Portal. The report presents them as reasons the company may be preserving or exploring the name’s commercial value—not proof that Dodge has approved a new vehicle.

The underlying trademark filings and the portal image have not been independently verified against primary records here. Neither clue, on its own, establishes that a production model is planned.

What Dodge and Stellantis have announced

The official muscle-car direction described by Dodge and Stellantis is the next-generation Charger. Stellantis said in June 2026 that the program would offer gasoline and all-electric choices. Its September overview identifies the eighth-generation Charger as built on STLA Large, with all-electric Daytona models and gasoline SIXPACK models using a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane straight-six.

MPC 1969 Plymouth Barracuda 1:25 Scale Model KIt
  • 1:25 scale, skill level 2, paint & glue required
  • 129 parts
  • Molded in white, clear, transparent red, with some chrome-plated parts
  • Black vinyl tires
  • Metal Axles

Those are Charger details, not specifications for a ‘Cuda. In a February 5, 2026 campaign announcement, Dodge CEO Matt McAlear described the SIXPACK-powered Charger models as “the next chapter of pure Dodge attitude.” His statement concerns the Charger, not a separate ‘Cuda product.

What is not confirmed about a new ‘Cuda

The reviewed material does not establish a production decision or provide a model year, price, production date, body style, or powertrain for a modern ‘Cuda. Dodge and Stellantis’ Charger announcements are not confirmation of another nameplate, and no official statement confirming or denying a ‘Cuda revival appears in the sources reviewed.

Why the name carries weight

The ‘Cuda is the performance name associated with the Plymouth Barracuda and has a place in classic muscle-car history. That heritage helps explain why speculation about the badge draws attention, but it cannot establish that Dodge is developing a modern car under that name.

What would count as confirmation?

A first-party Dodge or Stellantis announcement identifying a ‘Cuda as a vehicle and supplying launch details would move the story beyond speculation. Until then, the trademark activity and Charger Portal image remain reported clues, while the confirmed product information is about the Charger.
