Dodge’s official 2026 lineup lists the Durango as its SUV, with a starting MSRP of $38,995. The Hornet is not an equivalent current-production alternative: Dodge says its production is paused indefinitely, though some dealers may still have vehicles available. If you are choosing between them, check local Hornet inventory first, then match the Durango’s size, towing capacity, power and price to your needs.
Which SUVs does Dodge offer?
Dodge’s 2026 vehicle lineup lists the Durango as its SUV. Dodge’s Hornet page says production has been paused indefinitely, although Hornets may remain available at select dealers. That makes the Hornet a possible inventory find—not a clearly continuing production model. Availability depends on location and whether a dealer’s vehicle is new or used.
Dodge says, “No, the Dodge Brand is not discontinuing the Dodge Durango SUV,” in its Durango FAQ. That statement concerns the Durango; it does not indicate that Hornet production is continuing.
How to choose between a Durango and an available Hornet
- Check Hornet availability. Use Dodge’s Hornet page and local dealer listings to establish whether a vehicle is actually available and whether it is new or used.
- Decide how much space you need. The Durango has three rows, seats up to seven, and offers up to 85.1 cubic feet of cargo space. The cited Dodge material does not provide a same-model-year Hornet specification comparison, so confirm the exact vehicle’s seating and cargo details rather than assuming a direct apples-to-apples comparison.
- Match towing needs to the exact Durango configuration. Dodge advertises up to 8,700 pounds of available towing, but the maximum depends on configuration and equipment. Verify the rating for the trim and towing package you are considering.
- Compare actual trim and equipment quotes. Durango power and starting prices vary widely by variant. Check the specific vehicle’s drivetrain, packages, safety equipment and final dealer quote; MSRP is not a guaranteed transaction price.
