Battery life depends on how it is ridden
Manta5 estimates more than 4.5 hours of maximum ride time with the Hydropack 1000 and 3.5 hours with the Hydropack 600 when using low electric-assist levels. The company says throttle-only Boost riding can drain a battery in under an hour. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed runtimes; rider input and operating mode make a substantial difference. Transport is modular, but the assembled bike is heavy
The SL3 separates into five assemblies for transport. Manta5 lists assembled dimensions of about 4.5 feet high, 6.5 feet wide, and 7.2 feet long. Its FAQ gives assembled weights of 81 pounds for the SL3 Pro and 88 pounds for the SL3+, with the heaviest module around 30 pounds. Water depth and rider limits matter
Manta5 says the bike needs at least 3 feet of water for riding and 7 feet for a submerged launch, and recommends a maximum rider weight of 220 pounds. The company says the bike is designed for saltwater and recommends rinsing it with fresh water afterward. What rules apply in U.S. waters?
Do not assume every electric hydrofoil product has the same legal classification. The U.S. Coast Guard policy index lists Policy Letter 22-02 (Ch-1), which addresses requirements for mechanically propelled personal hydrofoils and mechanically propelled surfboards. Hawaii’s Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation, in a notice posted September 30, 2026, says e-foils are motorized vessels subject to vessel registration and motorboat ocean-water restrictions under that policy. Before riding, ask the relevant state boating agency, harbour authority, or local waterway operator how the specific craft is classified and whether registration, licensing, or location-specific restrictions apply.
