iRacing Arcade is a standalone, controller-first arcade racer with a more inviting career hook than its name might suggest: races feed into building a team, recruiting drivers and expanding an organization. It is not the iRacing simulation, does not require an iRacing subscription and does not connect to iRacing’s multiplayer service. The published picture is of an approachable, licensed racing game that gets its structure and accessibility right, but draws criticism for limited depth and multiplayer. This assessment is based on published product information and attributed reviews, not hands-on testing.
What iRacing Arcade is—and what it is not
Despite the familiar name, iRacing Arcade is a separate game, not a simplified mode or entry point into the iRacing simulation service. You can play it without an iRacing subscription, and it does not share that service’s multiplayer. Linking an account is optional: the official FAQ says it unlocks an Arcade Racer award in iRacing and an iRacing driver suit in Arcade.
Steam presents it as a third-person racer that combines competition with team building. The pitch is less about reproducing a racing career in simulation detail and more about giving races a progression loop: earn resources, then decide how to grow your organization.
How the racing and career loop fit together
After races, players can invest in facilities for gameplay boosts, recruit drivers, buy cars and customize their organization. That gives the career layer a practical role alongside the licensed cars, tracks and series: events are not just isolated races, but a way to build up the team.

- Immersive Gaming Experience: Perfect for PlayStation 5, PS4 and PC gaming titles, the Driving Force simulates the feeling of driving a real car with precision steering and pressure-sensitive pedals
- Premium Control: The Driving Force feedback racing wheel provides a detailed simulation of driving a real car, with helical gearing delivering smooth, quiet steering and a hand-stitched leather cover
- Customizable Pedals: These pressure-sensitive nonlinear brake pedals provide a responsive, accurate braking feel on a sturdy base - with adjustable pedal faces for finer control
- 900-Degree Rotation: Lock-to-lock rotation of the Driving Force means you can turn the wheel around two and a half times, hand over hand on wide turns - just like a real F1 race car
- Up Your Game: Take your racing simulation to the next level with Driving Force accessories like the Driving Force Shifter or desk and rig mounts
This structure is a clear point of difference from a game focused solely on selecting an event and driving it. It also creates a trade-off. Team management can make an accessible racer feel more purposeful, but it is not evidence of a deep motorsport-management simulation. DualShockers described the game as consistently fun while noting confusing mode choices and limited gameplay depth; Insider Gaming likewise praised moments of fun in racing and career while criticizing limited options.
Is it a good fit for beginners and casual racing?
The official positioning is pick-up-and-play, with licensed motorsport content and a single-player-first design. Worth Playing’s Tony “OUberLord” Mitera described its audience as people new to racing games and people looking for “something racing-themed for some unserious fun.” That is a useful framing: the appeal is accessibility and a career-flavored reason to keep racing, not a promise that it will satisfy players seeking simulation-level systems.

There is not one uniform critical verdict in the available excerpts. Reviewers praise different parts of the package, while the criticisms point to limits in options, mode clarity, multiplayer and the feel of faster cars. A secondary review thread reproduces these comments, so they should be read as attributed views from those outlets—not as a representative critic survey or a substitute for testing the handling yourself.
Controller, keyboard and wheel support
iRacing Studios says the game is designed around standard game controllers, which provide the best experience. Keyboard play is also supported. Steering wheels are not supported and will not function; the FAQ explicitly says wheel support will never be added. If a wheel is central to your racing setup, this is the wrong title to buy for it.

Solo play, online racing and crossplay
The core single-player experience can be played offline. For multiplayer, the official FAQ describes private lobbies for up to 12 players, with AI able to fill empty grid positions. It also says crossplay is supported across all platforms. Steam lists online competition with up to 11 other competitors, alongside weekly events, global time trials and leaderboards.
Those features are not the same thing as access to iRacing’s multiplayer service, nor does the product description establish public matchmaking availability or the size of an active player base. Insider Gaming’s criticism of multiplayer and the limited-options concerns in other excerpts are worth weighing if online competition is your main reason to buy. If you chiefly want solo racing, offline play is explicitly supported.

Platforms, release and price
The official FAQ lists PC via Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, and showed a price of $24.99 when accessed on October 4, 2026. Steam lists a March 3, 2026 release date and displayed €24.50 for its region at access. These are different storefront and regional figures, not a universal price; check your own platform’s store for the current local price.
iRacing Studios’ news index lists an announcement of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox release dated August 21, 2026. The same index contains post-launch articles about career progression, cars, tracks and race strategy. Those publications show ongoing editorial coverage, but do not establish a complete roadmap or promise a future content schedule.

What Steam players are saying
Steam’s storefront snapshot, accessed October 4, 2026, showed 72% positive from 1,211 all-time user reviews and 87% positive from 39 recent reviews. These are changing Steam aggregates, not a stable score or an independent survey. The smaller recent-review sample also makes its percentage especially sensitive to individual reviews.
Verdict: an inviting start, with limits to consider
iRacing Arcade’s strongest case is its accessible combination of licensed racing and team progression, backed by controller-first design and offline solo play. Its name should not set expectations for the iRacing simulation, and its career layer should not be mistaken for proof of deep management systems. Published reviews identify shortcomings in depth, options, faster-car feel and multiplayer; those caveats matter most if you want extensive systems or online competition to be the centerpiece.
For a newcomer or a player after lighter, career-tinged racing, it looks like a plausible fit. For wheel users, simulation-focused drivers or buyers primarily seeking robust multiplayer, the published evidence gives reason to look elsewhere or investigate those specific modes before purchasing.
