The Tudor Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25” (reference 79377KN; retailer reference M79377KN-0001) is a 42 mm, individually numbered limited-edition chronograph created around Tudor’s Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 partnership. Production is limited to 2,025 watches. Its case and fixed tachymeter bezel are carbon fibre, while the crown, pushers and caseback are PVD-finished titanium.
What is the Tudor Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25?
Carbon 25 is a special Black Bay Chrono rather than a new movement family. Tudor changes the familiar racing-chronograph formula with a lightweight carbon-fibre case and bezel, Formula 1 team-inspired detailing and a strict numbered run of 2,025 pieces. The watch is individually numbered and measures 42 mm across.
The official product documentation identifies the model as reference 79377KN. Some retail listings use M79377KN-0001, so buyers should match the reference engraved or printed on the watch and warranty documentation.
How many Carbon 25 watches were made?
Tudor made 2,025 Carbon 25 watches. That is a fixed limited-edition quantity, not an annual production target. Individual numbering confirms each example’s place within the run, but it does not by itself establish a particular number’s rarity or secondary-market premium.

Case, bezel and materials
The redesigned case measures 42 mm in diameter and uses carbon fibre. The bezel is a fixed, one-piece carbon-fibre component with a tachymetric scale, matching the chronograph’s motorsport purpose.
- Case: carbon fibre, 42 mm.
- Bezel: fixed one-piece carbon fibre with tachymetric markings.
- Crown: screw-down, PVD-finished.
- Chronograph pushers: screw-down, PVD-finished titanium at 2 and 4 o’clock.
- Caseback: PVD-finished titanium.
- Crystal: domed sapphire.
The Carbon 25 is therefore not a watch made entirely from carbon fibre: the crown, pushers and caseback are titanium with a PVD finish. Tudor rates it water-resistant to 200 metres (660 feet).

Dial and legibility
The dial is finished in what Tudor calls “Racing white,” with luminous black counters, a domed profile and a date window at 6 o’clock. Launch descriptions also identify blue accents and carbon-fibre subdials. The contrasting counters and luminous elements preserve the practical, high-contrast layout expected of a sports chronograph while giving the limited edition its own color scheme.
Movement and chronograph function
Inside is Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5813, an automatic chronograph with a bidirectional rotor. The movement uses column-wheel architecture, runs at 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz), has 41 jewels and is COSC-certified.

| Movement detail | Carbon 25 specification |
|---|---|
| Calibre | Manufacture Calibre MT5813 |
| Winding | Automatic, bidirectional rotor |
| Chronograph architecture | Column wheel |
| Frequency | 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz) |
| Jewels | 41 |
| Certification | COSC |
| Power reserve | Approximately 70 hours |
The approximately 70-hour reserve means a fully wound watch can run for roughly three days when left off the wrist, although actual autonomy varies with winding state and use.
Strap and fit
Carbon 25 is supplied on a hybrid leather-and-rubber strap with a tire-pattern surface. Launch coverage describes carbon end-links that visually extend the case into the strap. It is not supplied on a steel bracelet.

For replacement straps, shop specifically for compatibility with the 42 mm Tudor Black Bay Chrono and verify the lug width, end-link profile, spring-bar clearance and clasp or buckle construction for reference 79377KN. A generic “42 mm” label, including on marketplace or Amazon listings, does not guarantee a secure fit.
Carbon 25 versus the standard Black Bay Chrono
The closest baseline is the standard steel Black Bay Chrono. The key differences are material, dimensions, scarcity and price rather than the basic chronograph role.

Price depends on market and tax treatment. Tudor’s 2025 product documentation lists CHF 6,800 including Swiss VAT. A United States report from Hodinkee in 2025 lists $7,575. These figures should not be converted into a universal global price: local taxes, distribution, allocation and currency movements can change the amount a buyer is quoted.
Availability is also market-specific. The 2,025-piece limit constrains supply, while dealer allocation and the secondary market determine whether a particular numbered watch can be obtained and at what price. Confirm current availability and the final tax-inclusive total with an authorized Tudor retailer in your region.
What to check before buying
- Confirm the reference: look for 79377KN or the retailer-style M79377KN-0001 on the watch and paperwork.
- Verify the number: ensure the individual limited-edition number is present and consistent with the documentation.
- Inspect materials: the case and bezel should be carbon fibre; the crown, pushers and caseback should be PVD-finished titanium.
- Check the package: confirm the hybrid leather-rubber strap and its end-links are included and undamaged.
- Price by location: compare the local, tax-inclusive quote rather than applying the Swiss or US figure directly.
- For used examples: ask for service history, warranty evidence, movement and chronograph operation, and photographs of the carbon surfaces and titanium caseback.
Who is the Carbon 25 for?
It suits a buyer who wants the Black Bay Chrono layout with a more unusual case material, a Formula 1-linked design and a strictly limited production run. The standard steel model is the more straightforward choice for buyers who prioritize broad availability, conventional case construction or a different bracelet and strap configuration. Carbon 25’s appeal rests on the combination of carbon fibre, numbered scarcity and team-inspired details, not on a different power reserve or a fundamentally different chronograph complication.
