Ford recall 25C69, listed by NHTSA as campaign 25V863, covers certain 2022–2026 F-150 Lightning, 2024–2026 Mustang Mach-E and 2025–2026 Maverick vehicles. The integrated park module may fail to secure a vehicle in Park, creating a rollaway risk. Model year alone does not confirm whether a specific vehicle is included; check its VIN and follow Ford’s instructions for the free software remedy.
Which Ford vehicles are included?
NHTSA lists 272,645 vehicles as potentially affected by recall 25V863, which Ford identifies as campaign 25C69. The covered model-year ranges are:
- 2022–2026 Ford F-150 Lightning battery-electric vehicles
- 2024–2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E
- 2025–2026 Ford Maverick
The Part 573 filing counts 104,113 F-150 Lightning vehicles and 88,064 Mustang Mach-E vehicles. The remaining portion of the campaign total is made up of affected Mavericks. These are population counts, not confirmation that every vehicle in those model-year ranges is covered.
Why can a vehicle roll while the selector is in Park?
The integrated park module may fail to mechanically lock the vehicle after the driver selects Park. NHTSA says the condition does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114, which addresses theft protection and rollaway prevention. Its recall acknowledgment states: “A loss of park function can allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.”

The Part 573 report explains that the electronic parking brake normally applies automatically when Park is selected. An electronic parking brake fault could prevent that application, and the driver can also manually switch the brake off. In those circumstances, if the vehicle has not locked in Park, it may be able to roll.
Is a particular vehicle, including a 2025 Maverick, affected?
Not necessarily. The recall covers only certain vehicles within the stated model years, and the affected vehicles were not produced in VIN order. A model-year label or production date cannot establish whether an individual vehicle is included. Check the VIN using NHTSA’s recall lookup, or ask a Ford or Lincoln dealer to check Ford’s service database.

How to check the VIN and get the remedy
- Find the vehicle identification number (VIN) and enter it in NHTSA’s recall lookup, or contact a Ford or Lincoln dealer to check the vehicle in Ford’s service database.
- If the vehicle is covered, follow Ford’s recall instructions for the free software remedy. Ford says the update can be delivered over the air or by a dealer.
- Confirm that the remedy has been completed; a VIN check alone does not establish that the software update is installed.
For recall assistance, Ford’s customer service number listed in the recall report is 1-866-436-7332. Until coverage and repair status are confirmed, follow the vehicle’s normal parking and braking procedures. An aftermarket accessory is not a substitute for Ford’s recall remedy.

The Lightning and Mach-E are electric vehicles; the Maverick is also included in the campaign, but the supplied official figures do not give a Maverick count or break down its affected powertrains. The filings describe a shared park-module compliance issue across the listed populations, not a comparative severity rating by model. Eligibility and remedy completion must be checked for each VIN.
