Indian’s FTR lineup was reported as discontinued in February 2025, but Polaris says costs tied to winding down the product line began in the fourth quarter of 2024. That timing does not establish that production continued through 2025. Indian’s U.S. website still shows FTR models on a page labeled “2025 Motorcycles,” creating conflicting web evidence rather than proof that a 2025 FTR was built or is available.
When was the Indian FTR discontinued?
The clearest timeline separates the wind-down from the public announcement. Polaris’s 2025 annual report records costs associated with winding down the FTR product line beginning in Q4 2024. RevZilla reported on February 17, 2025, that the FTR would not return for model year 2025. These facts support saying the discontinuation became public in 2025, not that production necessarily continued into that year. Polaris’s 2025 annual report and RevZilla’s report provide the respective timing evidence.
Why was the Indian FTR discontinued?
RevZilla reported that it contacted Indian Motorcycle and received a statement from an unnamed brand representative. Indian said it regularly reviews its portfolio and made the decision to discontinue the FTR lineup after considering where to focus investment. The representative described the FTR as a small part of Indian’s overall portfolio and said the decision would let the company focus on platforms, future products, and technologies aligned with its long-term vision.
That is Indian’s stated rationale: portfolio and investment priorities. Indian did not publish FTR sales totals or say that sales directly caused the decision. RevZilla’s interpretation that the “small part” wording implied weak sales is the publication’s inference, not a sales statistic from Indian. RevZilla’s report and reproduced statement

Is there a 2025 Indian FTR?
The available evidence conflicts. RevZilla reported that the FTR would not return for MY2025, and Polaris’s filing says wind-down costs began in Q4 2024. Yet Indian’s U.S. website has a page labeled “2025 Motorcycles” that displays an FTR family, including FTR, FTR Sport, FTR R Carbon, and special editions. No official explanation for that continued listing is established here; it may be stale. A model shown on the page is not, by itself, proof of 2025 production, dealer stock, or current availability.
Check with an Indian dealer about the exact motorcycle’s model year, VIN, and local availability before treating a listing as a saleable 2025 model. Indian’s U.S. 2025 motorcycles page

Was 2024 the last year for the Indian FTR 1200?
The evidence supports treating 2024 as the final model year before Indian’s reported MY2025 non-return, while keeping the distinction between model year and wind-down timing clear. Indian’s 2024 U.S. base-model page lists a 1203cc liquid-cooled V-twin producing 120 hp and 87 ft-lb of torque, with a listed weight of 514 lb, a 31.7-inch seat height, 17-inch wheels, and a 3.4-gallon fuel capacity. Those are specifications for the 2024 base FTR page, not universal figures for every trim or model year. Indian’s 2024 FTR page
Trim matters, too: Indian’s announcement for model year 2023 described a four-trim FTR range. When comparing listings, verify the year and trim rather than assuming that one specification sheet applies to every FTR. Indian’s model-year 2023 FTR announcement

What should FTR owners and prospective buyers check?
- Confirm the specific bike: Verify model year, trim, VIN, condition, and actual local availability with the seller or dealer. The website listing alone does not establish inventory.
- Assess ownership support: Ask a local Indian dealer about service and parts access for the particular year and configuration. Current inventory and service availability vary by location and are not established by the discontinuation announcement.
- Compare by intended use: For an FTR versus another motorcycle, weigh the model year and trim, actual price, support, and riding character against how and where you plan to ride. No current used-market prices or comparative values are established here.
- Check accessory fit: Indian lists a RAM X-Grip phone mount among FTR customization accessories. Confirm fit for the exact model year and handlebar setup before buying; the listing alone does not establish compatibility with every configuration. Indian’s 2024 FTR page
What is not known about the decision?
The cited public evidence does not provide a named statistic for FTR sales, a count of owners affected, or a sales threshold behind the discontinuation. Polaris’s filing establishes when wind-down costs began, while the statement reproduced by RevZilla explains Indian’s portfolio rationale; neither supplies those missing figures. The available information also does not establish current dealer inventory or used-market pricing.
