Hyundai Motor America’s July 5, 2023 announcement grouped its U.S. 2024 lineup into two all-new models, two refreshed model lines and seven carry-overs. It also noted a handful of additions to carry-over vehicles. The release describes model-year changes, not what is currently available for sale.
Which Hyundai models were all-new or refreshed for 2024?
Hyundai classified the Kona and Santa Fe as all-new for the 2024 model year. The Kona designation covered both its internal-combustion and electric versions.
The Elantra and Sonata were refreshed rather than designated all-new. Hyundai included the Elantra’s internal-combustion, hybrid, N Line and N variants, and the Sonata’s internal-combustion, hybrid and N Line variants, in those refreshes.
Which models carried over, and what additions were called out?
Hyundai listed seven model lines as carry-over: Venue, Tucson, Palisade, Santa Cruz, Nexo, IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The Tucson listing included internal-combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. A carry-over classification does not rule out a specific new trim or configuration.

What the announcement does—and does not—tell buyers
