The Hyundai N Vision 74 is a drivable, high-performance hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid Rolling Lab—not a confirmed production car. Hyundai’s published figures describe the concept and have not been presented as independent test results or specifications for a certified road car. The company said in 2022 that commercial production was not confirmed; the official materials cited here continue to describe it as a Rolling Lab, with no later production decision established in those sources.
Is the Hyundai N Vision 74 going into production?
Hyundai has not confirmed the N Vision 74 for commercial production in the official materials cited here. In its 2022 launch release, the company said the N Vision 74 and RN22e embodied Hyundai N’s electrification vision, “though not confirmed for commercial production.” Hyundai described the concepts as Rolling Labs whose technologies engineers would continue to test and verify for potential use in future N road cars. Hyundai’s 2022 launch release makes that distinction explicit.
Hyundai’s current model page and a later brand article still frame the N Vision 74 as a drivable Rolling Lab. The sources cited here do not establish a later production authorization, price, sale date, market availability, or homologated road-car specification. Treat online claims about a production launch as unconfirmed unless Hyundai announces a dated decision.
How does the N Vision 74 hydrogen system work?
The concept combines a hydrogen fuel-cell system with a high-capacity battery and rear electric motors. Hyundai describes the fuel-cell stack and T-shaped battery as feeding the vehicle’s control system, which supplies power to the motors. The fuel cell converts hydrogen into electricity; the battery is another part of the car’s energy system, rather than the concept being a fuel-cell vehicle with no battery.

What performance and range does Hyundai claim?
Hyundai lists more than 500 kW of maximum rear-motor output and more than 900 Nm of maximum rear torque. Its model page gives a maximum speed above 250 km/h, range above 600 km, and hydrogen refueling time of five minutes. The page does not identify an independent test cycle or certification for those range, speed, or refueling figures, so they should be read as manufacturer-published concept claims.

| Figure | Hyundai’s published claim | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum rear-motor output | Over 500 kW | Current Hyundai N concept specification page |
| Maximum rear torque | Over 900 Nm | Current Hyundai N concept specification page |
| 0–100 km/h acceleration | Under 4 seconds | Hyundai Motor Company’s 2023 Villa d’Este release |
| Maximum speed | Over 250 km/h | Current Hyundai N concept specification page |
| Driving range | Over 600 km | Current Hyundai N concept specification page; no test cycle is stated there |
| Hydrogen refueling time | 5 minutes | Current Hyundai N concept specification page; conditions are not stated there |
Hyundai’s 2023 Villa d’Este release also gives output as 680 PS. That is a separate manufacturer statement using a different unit from the current model page’s “over 500 kW” figure; neither is a certified production-car rating. The company’s event release is available at Hyundai’s 2023 Villa d’Este announcement.

Why does it look like a modern Pony Coupe?
Hyundai says the N Vision 74 pays homage to the Pony Coupe concept unveiled in 1974 and designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Its design references the older car’s coupe proportions and distinctive B-pillar, then combines them with pixel lighting and a contemporary body shaped around aerodynamic and cooling requirements.
The concept also connects to Hyundai’s N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, unveiled in 2015, as an earlier expression of the brand’s high-performance technology direction. Hyundai’s background articles explain the design and lineage in more detail: the N Vision 74 development story and Hyundai N’s model overview.

Can you buy an N Vision 74?
There is no confirmed full-size production car or sales availability established by the cited official materials. Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul’s catalog does list a 1:10-scale N Vision 74 RC car. That is a model item, not the full-size hydrogen concept, and its listing does not establish that the vehicle itself is for sale. Catalog listing and availability can change; see Hyundai Motorstudio Seoul’s catalog.
