Hyundai’s playful Concept THREE became the production IONIQ 3, a fully electric compact hatchback designed for European drivers. Hyundai unveiled the concept in Munich on September 9, 2025; it introduced the production car on April 20, 2026, and reported production starting at its İzmit plant on October 7, 2026. The production model keeps the compact-EV ambition, but concept details such as the Mr. Pix character should not be assumed to have carried over.
How the concept became the IONIQ 3
At IAA Mobility in Munich, Hyundai presented Concept THREE as its first compact EV concept under the IONIQ sub-brand and a signal of its planned expansion into Europe’s compact-electric-car market. Its “Art of Steel” design language and hidden, interactive Mr. Pix touches gave the concept a deliberately playful character. Those details describe the show car, not confirmed production equipment. What Hyundai says the production car offers
Range and charging
Hyundai’s 2026 published specifications give the Standard Range version a projected WLTP range of 344 km and the Long Range version a targeted projected WLTP range of 496 km. These are manufacturer figures, not independent road-test results; real-world range can differ from the WLTP figures. Hyundai also quotes about 29 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent on DC under optimal conditions, and AC charging capability of up to 22 kW. Power and speed

Cabin, cargo and technology
The production-car announcement describes a five-seat cabin with a flat floor, integrated Megabox storage and 441 litres of luggage capacity. Pleos Connect, based on Android Automotive OS, makes its debut in a European Hyundai model in the IONIQ 3. Hyundai says buyers will be offered 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch displays, depending on specification, alongside Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance features. Equipment may vary by trim and market. Hyundai Motor Europe President and CEO Xavier Martinet said the Pleos Connect debut would bring “sharp graphics, an intuitive user experience and broad customization options.” That is Hyundai’s description of the system, not an independent assessment.

What is not yet established for buyers
The official announcements cited here do not establish country-specific retail prices, order dates or local availability. Production beginning in Türkiye is not confirmation that customer orders or deliveries have started in a given market. Buyers should check their national Hyundai site or dealer for current local details.
The company’s published figures give useful points for evaluating the car—projected WLTP range, charging capability, cabin and luggage space, infotainment and driver assistance—but do not establish how the IONIQ 3 compares with rival compact EVs in independent testing. Nor do the concept sources confirm that Mr. Pix or other interactive show-car details appear in the production vehicle.
