The ₹1,95,000 gap is simple arithmetic from those two listed prices, not a separate Hyundai statistic. Your actual amount will vary with location and the quotation date. Hyundai also states that specifications and equipment can change without prior notice, so ask the dealer to identify the exact model year and edition on the written quotation.
What the premium means in a monthly budget
The higher trim price is paid before finance interest, registration and insurance are calculated. If you are financing the vehicle, the SX Premium’s additional amount will also increase the financed principal and therefore the total interest. Ask for two complete, location-specific on-road quotations rather than comparing only the headline ex-showroom figures. A quote should separately identify the variant, edition, manufacturing or model-year details, mandatory charges, optional accessories and every discount.

S(O) Knight: a deliberate black-and-brass theme
The Knight Edition’s main argument is visual. It uses 18-inch matte-black alloy wheels, an all-black cabin, brass-coloured inserts and exclusive black fabric upholstery. Those details create a consistent dark theme rather than a small cosmetic badge added to an otherwise standard cabin. Buyers choosing it are paying for a specific appearance as well as the lower entry price in this comparison.

The feature information identifies the Knight seats as fabric and the driver’s adjustment as manual. It does not establish how the fabric will age, how easy it is to clean or how the larger wheels affect ride comfort. Treat those as matters to inspect and experience during a viewing and test drive, not assumptions from the trim name.

SX Premium: a lighter cabin and leatherette surfaces
SX Premium replaces the Knight’s all-black presentation with a gray two-tone interior and leatherette upholstery. It also lists an 8-way electric driver’s seat and ventilated front seats. If several people share the car, the electric adjustment can make it easier to find and repeat a preferred driving position; the ventilated-seat function is the more substantial comfort addition in hot conditions.
Both trims list a panoramic sunroof and dual-zone automatic climate control. The SX Premium description specifically calls its panoramic roof voice-enabled, while the Knight listing identifies a smart panoramic sunroof. Confirm the voice-command functions in the demonstration car because Hyundai’s equipment can change without prior notice.
Displays, navigation and audio: where the SX Premium spends its extra money
Knight’s 8-inch system
The S(O) Knight equipment list specifies an 8-inch touchscreen with front and rear speakers. That covers the basic factory screen and speaker arrangement stated by Hyundai, but it is not described as the larger HD navigation system or Bose setup fitted to the SX Premium.
SX Premium’s 10.25-inch screens and Bose system
SX Premium adds a 10.25-inch HD audio-video navigation display, a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a Bose 8-speaker audio system. The larger centre screen can make map presentation and menus easier to view, while the digital cluster changes the information area directly in front of the driver. The Bose hardware is a factory audio upgrade rather than an aftermarket accessory.

These are useful upgrades only if you regularly use navigation, spend time listening to music or value the larger digital displays. If your phone supplies most navigation and audio and you are satisfied with a conventional instrument display, the equipment difference may not justify the full ₹1,95,000 premium by itself. There is no published comparison here of sound quality, screen response or route guidance accuracy, so those should be checked in a test car.
Everyday convenience differences
Both versions list a smart key, push-button start, cruise control and a rear window sunshade. SX Premium adds a wireless charger and remote engine start. Those features reduce small daily inconveniences, but their value depends on your routine: a phone that does not support wireless charging will not benefit from the pad, and remote starting may be less useful if local conditions or your parking arrangement limit when you can use it.
Hyundai’s own feature information addresses common buyer questions by listing cruise control and a sunroof for these variants. The presence of those items should not be confused with the higher trim having every possible driver-assistance or parking feature; only the equipment specifically listed for the exact edition should be treated as confirmed.
Powertrain and driving expectations
For this comparison, both variants are listed with Hyundai’s 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine and manual transmission. That makes the stated engine-and-gearbox combination comparable on paper. It does not prove that the cars will feel identical in every respect: tyre specification, wheel size, calibration, vehicle load and model-year changes can affect the driving experience, and the supplied specifications do not provide a back-to-back test result.

Do not choose one expecting a documented fuel-economy, clutch, acceleration or ride advantage. No comparative real-world mileage or performance evidence is established here. During a test drive, check clutch take-up, low-speed response, visibility, seat comfort, steering effort and the way the 18-inch Knight wheel package feels on the roads you use. Use the same route and tyre pressures when possible so your impressions are comparable.
Confirm the exact model year and edition
Hyundai’s trim plan and specification pages can cover more than one edition at a time, and the company warns that equipment may change without prior notice. Before paying a booking amount, make the quotation state “S(O) Knight Edition 1.5 MPi Petrol MT” or “SX Premium 1.5 MPi Petrol MT,” as applicable, along with the model year or edition name. Match that wording against the vehicle identification and the equipment shown on the car.

That announcement listed separate Summer Edition prices: ₹14,38,400 for the S(O) Knight Summer Edition 1.5L MPi Petrol MT and ₹16,33,400 for the SX Premium Summer Edition 1.5L MPi Petrol MT. These are edition-specific figures and are distinct from the October 2026 standard-edition prices in the table above.

The dashcam is included in the Knight Summer Edition announcement; it should not be assumed on every standard S(O) Knight vehicle. Conversely, the multi-display cluster, Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor and front parking sensors were announced for the Summer Edition SX Premium and should not be silently added to every non-Summer SX Premium. Ask the dealer to confirm the factory-fitted equipment on the specific stock vehicle before buying an aftermarket camera or budgeting for parking hardware.

In the same corporate announcement, Hyundai said the CRETA had more than 1.4 million customers and annual sales exceeding two lakh units in financial year 2025–26. Those are Hyundai-published company figures, not an independent measure of either trim’s reliability or resale value. Hyundai National Sales Head Sunil Moolchandani described the Summer Edition as making advanced technology and comfort more accessible, citing the multi-display cluster, Surround View Monitor and dashcam; that is the company’s stated positioning, not an independent assessment.
Which is better for different buyers?
Choose the S(O) Knight when appearance and price lead
- You want the blacked-out exterior and 18-inch matte-black alloys.
- You prefer an all-black cabin with brass-coloured inserts and black fabric seats.
- You would rather keep ₹1,95,000 of the listed ex-showroom difference for other ownership costs or accessories.
- You are comfortable with manual driver-seat adjustment, an 8-inch touchscreen and the standard speaker setup listed for the trim.
- You are buying a Summer Edition specifically for its factory dashcam and have verified that the vehicle is the Summer Edition, not a standard Knight.
Choose the SX Premium when comfort and technology lead
- Ventilated front seats and an 8-way electric driver’s seat are meaningful to you.
- You want the 10.25-inch navigation display and 10.25-inch digital cluster.
- You value the Bose 8-speaker system, wireless charger and remote engine start.
- You prefer gray two-tone trim and leatherette upholstery over the Knight’s black fabric interior.

When neither trim is an obvious fit
If your decision is based mainly on engine performance, fuel economy, clutch feel or resale, this equipment comparison cannot settle it. Both use the stated 1.5-litre petrol-manual pairing, and no evidence here establishes a difference in those ownership outcomes. A matched test drive and a local, written on-road quote are more useful than assuming the higher trim will automatically deliver a different driving character.

- Read the exact variant name. Confirm whether the quotation says S(O) Knight Edition, S(O) Knight Summer Edition, SX Premium or SX Premium Summer Edition.
- Check the date and market. The prices above are Hyundai India ex-showroom figures for the stated dates; ask for the current local price and all on-road charges.
- Walk around the wheels and trim. Verify matte-black 18-inch alloys on the Knight or 17-inch diamond-cut alloys on the SX Premium, and inspect the interior colour and upholstery.
- Operate the comfort features. Test seat adjustment, ventilation, climate controls and the panoramic roof in the actual car.
- Turn on the displays and audio. Confirm the screen size, navigation system, digital cluster and Bose branding where applicable.
- Verify convenience equipment. Check wireless charging and remote engine start on SX Premium, and confirm the smart key, push-button start, cruise control and rear sunshade functions.
- Check Summer Edition additions separately. Look for the factory dashcam on Knight Summer Edition or the multi-display cluster, Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor and front parking sensors on SX Premium Summer Edition.
- Get changes in writing. Hyundai cautions that specifications and equipment can change without prior notice, so keep the signed quotation and the equipment list associated with the vehicle identification.
Final buying decision
The S(O) Knight is the value-and-style choice: it gives you the distinctive black-and-brass treatment, matte-black 18-inch wheels and the lower October 2026 ex-showroom price. The SX Premium is the comfort-and-technology choice: its ₹1,95,000 premium buys the documented ventilated seats, electric driver’s seat, leatherette cabin, larger displays, navigation, Bose audio, wireless charging and remote engine start.
